I have celiac disease. So I asked for a gluten free menu and it was provided. I ordered a burger with a few toppings and a Caesar salad without croutons. The salad came out with croutons and my burger didn’t have most of my toppings. UMMMM… I didn’t think it was that difficult of an order. After they returned with a salad sans croutons, I had to wonder if they just picked them off. Sigh. I need to remain gluten free. I can not return.

We had a party of 9 people and everyone had an excellent meal. Bison meatloaf and elk burger were a big hit. Good service. We will definitely go back.

I am writing this review from my porcelain throne. Why am I sitting on my white throne might you ask well let me tell you. Their gluten free burger had barbecue sauce that contained beer, the beer contains wheat, the wheat contained gluten and now my intestines contain the hot lava of hell. Please label you menu correctly. If you need help understanding what gluten free mean I can break out the crayons and explain.

zero stars.(Had to put one star to post) I was really excited to try this place but was not even greeted by anyone when my siblings and I walked in. It was not busy at all as it was late afternoon before dinner and all the servers saw us and never told us to seat ourselves or even said hello. After waiting way too long we left and went somewhere else.

This restaurant earns one star due to inaccurate gluten-free labeling. It is inconceivable to me that a restaurant would write up a special gluten-free menu, and invite customers to rely on it, without being certain that the items on that menu are in fact gluten-free. I came here on Wednesday, April 6 with my boyfriend. He has Celiac, and asked(as he always does) if the restaurant has a gluten-free menu. Our waitress said they did, and brought it right over. The menu broadly declares that all Tribeca Tavern’s burgers are gluten-free, so long as a gluten-free bun(or lettuce wrap) is swapped for the ‘regular’ one, and any deep-fried toppings are substituted. Based on this advice, my boyfriend confidently ordered The Wolfpack Burger with a gluten-free bun and sautéd(as opposed to deep-fried) onions. He almost never has any trouble order and eating at burger places… Tribeca Tavern would be the exception to that rule. The Wolfpack Burger is not gluten-free. My boyfriend’s theory is that the BBQ sauce contains gluten.(Note to Tribeca Tavern: Check your BBQ sauce bottle. Does it contain any«modified food starch»?) But, whether it was the BBQ sauce or something else, the burger had gluten in it. The ‘gluten-free’ menu should not generally identify the burgers as gluten-free because they are not. That little gluten-free menu you make is not a joke. It’s not your best effort to identify the items that ‘should be okay.’ People make health decisions based on your so-called gluten-free menu. So please, at the very least, double-check your facts! Gluten issues aside, I wasn’t overly impressed with this place overall. I thought it earned three stars. The burgers were pretty good, but nothing special. I also did not think they were cooked especially well; I asked for medium, and it was sort of unevenly done. With my meal, I tried a flight of the Mash House beers(Blonde, Hefe, IPA, Red) and it was okay but, again, nothing to write home about.(Actually, the Blonde was pretty bad.) The option of having a caesar salad with your burger at no up-charge was pretty nice though. Our server was also fine. We will take our business to Bad Daddy’s Burger Bar from now on. Their burgers are delicious and well-cooked, and don’t contain any unwanted gluten. Consistent with my policy of only giving one star to places that are grossly offensive or cause violent illness, this places earns: 1 Star.

This has become a regular for our family. It’s slightly upscale American with a good kids menu, good beer selection, and a nice ambiance. The booths have little TVs in them that we get tuned to Nick Jr. for the kids — maybe not the greatest parenting, but it gives us a few minutes to talk and the kids love it. The food is generally really good, but the kitchen can be a little slow. I like the build your own burger option, but that can add up and you may find a custom burger costing much more than you expected. We like that they source many ingredients locally, and the food is fresh. Kids meals are more upscale than many, too. My son loves the shrimp — he orders it grilled instead of fried. The kid’s burger is their same fresh ground blend, too.

I have never been here before, but I will be visiting this restaurant soon, if for nothing else but to have the Tuna Nachos! I was at a event where they were severed and I can’t say I have ever tasted anything so good, they were definitely a hit.

Not a very good place if you’re dining in. It’s ok if you’re just going to the bar for drinks but otherwise I tend to avoid it. I’ve lived near Tribeca for two years now and have had multiple bad experiences. The food is always just mediocre and the service(particularly in the dining area) is always bad. Just stopped in two days ago and for some reason decided to eat dinner in the dining area(should’ve known better). The food was ok. Tried the salmon w/vegetables and mashed potatoes. The salmon was cooked so long it was charred around the edges and the potatoes were dry. Nothing terrible but not good either. The service was bad though. Our waiter spent 20 – 30 minutes at one table chatting with a group of older women about his life story while we(and probably his other tables) were wanting to get our checks and head out. This is the norm there with the waitstaff and most of the bartenders too. If you’re looking for food and drink there are better options in the area.

new menu = time for a Unilocal update! I love this place! My husband and I visited last Saturday during the winter storm. After a long day of shoveling ice off sidewalks, a beer and a burger sounded fantastic, so I was happy to get the email blast advertising that you guys were actually open! We sat at the bar as we always do because we enjoy the atmosphere much better than the dining room, and because all the bartenders(Wes, Rob, Miranda, and Mark) consistently provide friendly and attentive service. On this particular visit, Rob was manning the bar solo. I always start with a Mash House beer while I read over the menu and check out the rotating taps, and Rob was ready to pour before I had taken off my jacket and settled in my seat. I love that they remember my drink even though I usually only make it in once a month or so! My husband ordered the bison burger and devoured it. I ordered my go-to turkey burger, and it was delicious as always. When it came time to settle the bill, a swipe of my Tribeca loyalty card took $ 15 off the check since it was my birthday month– awesome! All in all, you can expect great service, tasty food with plenty of local ingredients, and yummy beers in a comfortable atmosphere.

After ordering a tuna steak salad I became violently ill with severe food poisoning. The dr confirmed it was from eating tainted seafood that was not properly prepared. I will be reporting this to the public health department — thank god my pregnant daughter did not become I’ll!

Giving this restaurant 5 stars just for Danny’s greatness! Excellent service from a down to earth dude! The mac & cheese balls are amazing, great prices & great staff. What more could you ask for?

Just stopped in a for a drink at the bar before dinner nearby. The bar area is nice and the drinks were well made. Our group had three different types of martinis ordered and they all came out correctly. The atmosphere is nice and the menu looked appetizing. The house blonde beer was average to slightly above, nothing to write home about. Overall a nice place.

I wrote a review on their Facebook page but it was taken down within a minute of posting. I’ve been to Tribeca tavern since it opened. It was created by the same owners as Michael Deans which was a restaurant I went to frequently. I’ve gone to Tribeca about once a month and have enjoyed it despite some inconsistencies when they changed chefs… Famine soup anyone? An occasional bad meal was remedied the next time, however recently the service and the food has been on a consistent downward slide. I met friends there tonight because last month I had the best turkey burger. It was seared so it was moist, and came with apple compote and Brie and was divine. Tonight I arrived at 630pm and the restaurant was not full. Our waiter was extremely inattentive; empty drinks, and a very long wait for our meal. Unfortunately the turkey burger was absolutely inedible. It was more like a turkey breast. The waiter took it away and manager came and did the right thing and apologized. He also stated that they grind their turkey. I did tell him that I needed to cut it with a knife, so it was either a turkey breast, or had been under the lights for so long and gotten hard. Typically ground turkey is not white and does not need to be cut like a steak. I told the manager I didn’t need anything further and they did take the meal off the bill. I wish I had provided more feedback, and that’s why I put the review on their Facebook page. I would not have complained about the waiter because everyone can have a bad night and I did base my tip on the total cost of the meal. Given the meager wages for wait staff, I always give them the benefit of the doubt. However, given the inconsistent history, and tonight’s experience, I won’t be back. Hopefully though they will get their mojo back. If not, they won’t be around very much longer.

Friend and I had a mid-week impromptu lunch. We both had salads and they were delicious. Also excellent iced tea. Service was great. Fresh flavors, nice menu selections. Deducting one star because it is a high price to pay for a salad lunch.

We had our annual girls’ Christmas luncheon today. There were several regulars that couldn’t attend this year, so our party numbered only nine… but we still had a great time! Daniel was our server. He didn’t rush us, was very personable and just did a great job overall. At least 3 in the party ordered the«RIDICULOUS»(they had a lot of fun ordering this) steak sandwich and all agreed it was a good choice. Most others had a burger of some sort. Based on Daniel’s recommendation, I chose the«Mastering Augusta» burger(house-made pimento cheese, fried green tomatoes, bacon, LTO, brioche bun), medium, with my side being the salad with the ginger-soy vinaigrette. Burger was, at best, medium-well and therefore dry. Pimento cheese had a definite spicy bite to it, and the fried green tomatoes were very tasty. I eschewed the bun, lettuce and tomato and ate the burger, pimento cheese and fried green tomatoes with a knife and fork — it was good, but not $ 14 good. We moved to the bar where Mark took excellent care of us(as he always has in the past). At our request, Daniel took several pictures of us long after his job was done serving. All-in-all, we really like going to Tribeca Tavern and hope they succeed long term. I must admit though, that it’s still really hard for me to wrap my head around $ 13-$ 19 burgers, especially when they’re not cooked as ordered. Love the staff.

We go out to eat on a regular basis and Tribeca has been in our rotation since it opened. Our lunch there today may have been the final time for us. I was stunned when the server delivered my order of fish and chips to our table. The plate contained 3 extremely small pieces of fish(which were each about the size of a fish stick), 2 overcooked onion rings, some fries, a small stainless steel cup containing tartar sauce, and a second small stainless cup containing Cole slaw. I took a bite of one of the fish sticks and it was dry, overcooked, and tasted like it was a reheated leftover. I didn’t trust the Cole slaw enough to taste it as it looked dried out and old. I wasn’t certain that it was fresh or that it had been handled properly. When the server returned and asked everyone at our table how their food was, I told her that my fish was unacceptable. She asked whether I wanted anything else and I declined. A woman who identified herself as the manager came by the table later and asked about my order. I told her about the small, overcooked, off-tasting fish and the Cole slaw. She explained that they had begun«cutting the fish smaller to ensure that it was cooked properly». She, too, asked if I would like something else.(Since the others in my party were almost finished with their meals by that time, I declined.) After leaving Tribeca, I ended up driving across the parking lot and ordering an order of fish and chips from a competitor. My order there ended up being 2 large, beautifully fried filets, a large order of fries, and an 8 oz. serving of Cole slaw(all for the same price).

When the Falls of the Neuse location first opened up in 2013, the service was incredibly bad. I mean, like, man, I could tell some stories. We went there twice, but then stayed away for a while to recover from the bad-service PTSD. We were in the area about a year later and decided to give it another try. I’m really glad we did. Something happened in there to clean up the service. We’ve been there quite a lot since. The menu is pretty limited, but what’s on there is usually good. When it’s not, the manager is usually walking around, and will take care of the problem if you have one. I like the idea that the food is locally-sourced. Even the house beer is usually pretty good. Definitely worth the trip. And hey, thanks to whoever in there fixed up the service. Good job.

I don’t even know where to begin with this review. I am currently sitting here at a birthday gathering with about 20 others. There was a «set menu» from which to order. Ordered the calamari appetizer – it arrived lukewarm and greasy. The garden salad came next and there were no croutons on mine. Others received croutons. I’m not sure my salad greens were really clean(UGH)!! I ordered shrimp and grits – I couldn’t! No, really, I COULDN’T! It wasn’t hot – the sauce was runny and flavorless – the shrimp were small and cheap – NOTCOOL! And they had the nerve not to have good service! We have been here since 7:30pm. It is now 9:45pm and some are just getting their food! I have had one glass of tea although I have requested a refill several times! The highlight of this meal – SINGINGHAPPYBIRTHDAY! The signal it was time to leave! If you can’t accommodate a party, DON’T BOOKONE! Embarrassing for the Birthday Girl who deserved better and disappointing for the guests!

This used to be one of my favorite restaurants, but I’m not sure if I will ever be back again since my last visit. It seems like each time I visit, the prices get higher, while the menu options decrease. My husbands favorite meal used to be the filet with a twice baked potato(neither of which they offer anymore), and I used to always order the veggie burger which came with TONS of fresh, tasty toppings like sprouts, guacamole, cheddar cheese, roasted peppers etc.(now they only top it with goat cheese and roasted red peppers). I do like the mash house beers they offer. On our most recent visit, my husband ordered a medium ribeye. It arrived rare and had to be redone. I ordered the club, which was okay. I did like the addition of the Brie cheese, which sets it apart from your average club. When I was finished with my sandwich, my husbands recooked steak finally arrived(cooked well done this time, but whatever). Nothing on our bill was comped, which I think is pretty bad customer service(especially not comping the steak charge). I was very disappointed to pay $ 50 for a meal/dining experience that was very underwhelming.

3 ½ stars is more like it, but I’m rounding up because we had a nice Friday night experience. We sat at a small booth in the bar area, and had great service from a chipper young gal. Husband tried a Jacked-Up Stout for five bucks. It was full of flavor. I thought it tasted like coffee… apparently there was a whiskey element to it. Made him happy. Meanwhile I went with the right chardonnay for me.(have picked the wrong one in the past). Note to self: NOT the steel one. The menu seemed super-streamlined to me. My favorite salad is gone. Burgers have changed. No more wine-onions or habanero cheddar(wah!) None of the Chef’s Burgers jumped out at me so I created my own. Did a 5 oz. with Smoked Chilie BBQ Sauce, Pepperjack and Grilled Onions. That BBQ Sauce was finger-licking good! Love that they still give a choice of sides with the burger. I went with a salad with balsamic. Nice. Husband went with a 9 oz Burger with Bacon & Hoop Cheddar, with a Side Salad and Bleu Cheese. He said it was pretty good, but the beef itself could have used some seasoning. Somehow we had room to share a Blonde Brownie Dessert with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Very tasty! Prices…reasonable…total before tip was $ 45. My burger with salad was just $ 10. Manager checked on us. Good night, which made us happy, because honestly some of the recent reviews had us a bit leery!
