Ralston Arena

My first visit to the Ralston Arena was for Extreme Beerfest. It was pretty cool to be able to walk around in the main pit that usually is reserved for the athletes. Even despite the crowds, I was always able to find plenty of space to spread out when I needed to. The main corridors are spacious and there are plenty of food and drink options. You can even grab a couple famous puffy tacos from Maria’s. Nice touch.
I know there’s a lot of arena competition in town. Ralston offers a comfortable, clean atmosphere and a good location. It’s perfect for those smaller events like roller derby, Lancers hockey, high school graduations, etc.

So I have been here for a few things. Lancers games being one of the main things I have enjoyed, but most recently I came to Omaha Extreme Beerfest. Certainley a 4 star, but suredly a 3 star. It was the first time that I know of that this event took place here.
Crowded and stairs. With a bunch of 7%+ beers, you should eliminate issues like climbing stadium seats. I would put this akin to the Civic Auditaorium with this hiking to the restrooms and other venues.
Although I had a great time at the event, it seemed forced and I am not so sure I will go again if featured here.
Quite warm and sweaty with a bit of confusion thrown in. I usually take half drinks and this was no exception. Still, I had issues getting from the the lower bowl to the deck

Nice stadium in Ralston. Parking was free which is always a plus, but kind of confusing with all the stop signs and such and no one really directing traffic. Every seat in the place gets a good view, but the seats are a little tight together for my liking. Audio was actually pretty good for the most part, but there were some moments that sounded terrible. Overall, it is still a nice stadium with some unique events right outside of Omaha.

A great arena. I went to the Ralston Arena for the first time this past weekend for a bachelor party and we went there to see a lingerie football game, lol. It was surprisingly fun.
The parking is okay, but I would get there early to get a good spot because the lot started to fill up at 7pm and the game didn’t start till 8pm.
My only negative of the place is the audio. It’s so horrible and you can barely understand the announcer.

We’ve gone here recently to see both hockey and arena football, and both were great! The atmosphere at the Lancers Game especially was amazing. The place was packed and it happened to be Star Wars night; Darth Vader brought out the puck and there were other guys in costume and lots of funny videos during breaks. We got our tickets through Groupon on a whim and had a fantastic time! Parking was a little hard to find if you arrive late.
The Omaha Beef game wasn’t quite as full – in fact there were plenty of empty seats and parking was a breeze. The extra breathing room was nice though, and we were so close to the action! I think of arena football as the opposite of soccer – minimal running and maximum scoring. :)
There are plenty of food vendors and souvenir stands to choose from, and all the facilities are nice and new. If you want to eat beforehand, Ragazzi’s pizza and King Kong burger are practically in the parking lot.
Next time we are going to check out the Public Ice Skating this summer!

Great venue. Parking is free and close to doors. Seating is arranged well. Food vendors offer a good selection of tasty items.
Negative, I would like to see some more concerts but I know that is a tough market in Omaha.

Very nice since it is new. Great view lines all around arena for hockey games. Concourse is a bit narrow for crowds. Queue for ticket window is a bit awkward. No public WiFi. Trash cans and recycle bins should be side by side. Often went to throw away trash and could only find can/​bottle recycling bins.

CrossFit Omaha hosted the First Annual Snow Bowl Open at Ralston Arena.
I live down the road at the Oaks on Lakeview apartments, and it was cool to see the construction of the arena come together. It looks really nice, and the inside is great (as all new things are).
The arena restricted outside caterers from bringing food/​beverages into the event, but they only had one concession business open (coffee, beer, and ice cream), so all the spectators had to leave the arena for lunch. This was annoying because the arena people flipped out whenever they saw someone bring «outside food» in, even though they weren’t serving burgers and any sort of entrée item.
Haven’t made it to any games, but the parking lot gets packed. The parking lot may be a little small for larger events because the roads to my apartment are always lined with cars.
