I have been buying from Connelly Gardens for 4 years now. The owner Tim Connelly sells his produce to restaurants throughout San Diego County. When he has more produce then what he is selling, he opens up his veggie stand to the rest of us(Summer, early Fall only). I love the fact that local restaurants make a notation in their menu that they are proudly serving veggies from Connelly Gardens. Drive down the driveway past the fields and green house to the pine tree. Under a carport area you will see the table of goodies. Open Saturdays and Sundays. Hours, check their website. If you go on Saturday mornings you usually will find Tim(and his Vizslas) there at the stand. Sundays, no one is around, then it is a honor system, cash only. Go early for best selection. Not only does Tim sell veggies, like tomatoes(many varieties), melons, string beans, peppers, cucumbers, etc. he also has fresh herbs for sell(check in the white ice chest for selection). I go there for cut basil and tarragon. He also has big pots of basil for sale. In the Spring Tim has a huge plant sale where he offer all types of veggies seedlings and herbs for your own garden. I never miss it. Don’t forget to pick up a box of compost. Since my property is over run by squirrels, gophers, moles, and bunnies, I am thankful I have a place to go and buy organic veggies!
