I am NOT a quilter. However, I do believe in the makers community and I support individuals having hobbies that enrich their lives and those of others. I happened upon this shop while driving by one day and shared the info with a mentee that I work. She wanted to make the trip to explore the shop. Upon arrival we noticed a sign outside that the location will be closing on July 18th. We found out that the owner has decided to retire. So, from here on out — just about everything will be on sale. The shop has fabric, batting, frames, books, tools and anything anyone would want to make a quilt at any level. There is a shared space to work in that includes, sewing machines, irons, measuring implements, etc. My favorite part of the shop was the batik fabrics. They were gorgeous. I would be in heaven if this was a place that created sarongs out of batik! Check out the Crazy 9 Patch for a good deal while they are still open!

I was excited to find this little gem of a store!!! It’s bright pink walls and quilts everywhere!!! They had Moda and other designer fabrics as well as one of the best Civil war collection. There was room after room of fabrics with samples of quilts on the wall that you could do with those fabrics. Very clean and brightly lite. Everything was so well organized. The woman there was so nice and helpful. She let me walk around and day dream. After doing the Sock Hop I can now say there are some AWEFUL shops out there not worth ever going back too. The Crazy 9 Patch is definitely top 4 in the county to visit if your a quilt nut like me!!! A MUST!!!

Cute, clean, cozy and organized. However… For the most part, I didn’t know what to really expect when I arrived at this cute little cottage-style store. For some reason, however, I pictured the employees of this establishment to be warm, loving, welcoming, friendly and willing to help teach the less-knowledgeable in the art of quilt-making. A grandma-type of person, if you will. I absolutely ADORE handmade quilts, throws and those types of keepsakes that are made with love and my daughter(6 years old at the time) was ready to replace her baby blanket(cleverly named, «Blank»), that we had been toting around since her birth back in 2005. The thing was a raggedy, shredded mess. To make a long story short, I was interested in hiring someone to make a simple quilt out of some fabric I purchased online and whatever other materials I needed to purchase. The fabric I purchased online took HOURS to find but it was the same, discontinued design as the original«Blank». I was willing to pay top-dollar to bring«Blank» back to life. I was pretty sure that they didn’t do made-to-order quilting there, in the store, but I was hoping to get a business card of someone who did that sort of thing or for someone to take my info and see if there were any takers… no such luck. I don’t know who the heck I spoke with but this lady pretty much told me to go to Pottery Barn and pick up a quilt from over there… and that was it… pretty much shut me down. I don’t get it… did I violate some Quilter’s Code of some sort? Pottery Barn, what the heck? If I wanted some generic, manufactured quilt for my child, I would’ve gone online to Land of Nod and called it a day… You’re missing the point, here lady… Thanks, but no thanks. Best of luck to you.

A fun and inspiring quilt shop with lots of ideas in samples. Staff is knowledgeable and so helpful, cheerful and full of ideas to share. They have a fabulous selection of fabrics. The store is right on Main St. And has their own parking lot with plenty of safe parking. A fun place to visit!
