I have been to some music shows recently where I have bumped into photographer Mike Darrach. He takes some great pics and manages to use his camera to infuse these photos with all the high octane energy found in live performances. Once I started talking to him, he showed me some of his other shots. I was surprised to find this kinda hardcore music lover to be such a sensitive interpreter of beautiful nature scenes. There were pastoral shots of ducks on water and a fence post that looked like architectural sculpture. His very own favorite photos is on the back of Mike’s business card he gave me-stone steps leading up under towering trees as a perfect stream of light hits the scene. Just magnificent. Mike is the real deal-a great professional photographer with a perfect eye for nuance and tout le monde! Mike Darrach has artistic breadth– he can use his trained«eye» to catch all different kinds of life poses. And do it with artistry and finesse. I was surprised when he told me he doesn’t really do wedding photography because that is where a sensitive, discerning picture taker does his best work. It is a difficult job to capture the love and celebration inherent in a wedding just right-without looking schmaltzy, even though most people think any old person can snap some people getting hitched. I have encouraged Mike to consider doing a few weddings this coming summer and see how it turns out. Anyone in need of the services of an excellent personal photographer, should check Mike Darrach out.
