A cute little shop to buy basic needs. You can eat on site. They make great tacos. And have a salsa bar. Lots of drink options. Not a bad place to buy meat and Mexican food to make at home. Customer service could be better. The lady at the register was on the phone chatting with a friend the entire time I was checking out — though she did take a minute to say«gracias».

This gringo was very comfortable shopping at Pepe’s. Got some wonderful salsa there – tasty enough to please my husband but not so spicy I couldn’t eat it. I assume they make it there… no labels. Also got some very fresh Tortilleria Salsa tortillas, placed conveniently in a cooler right by the door. Limes were cheap… so were the oranges. Forgot to get avocados but they looked pretty good as well. I got a nice bag of goods for under $ 7.

Stopped in to check it out and grab a taco or two — the food did not disappoint. A taco de pollo and one pastor, both were excellent, freshly made right in front of me and a nice selection of serious salsa action. But timid gringos beware cause the place is definitely funky. I’m fine with that having spent years south of the border — your mileage, however, may vary. If you need a more pristine spot with comfortable booths, good service in a family atmosphere go to Mar de Cortez right around the corner. Awesome. Pepe’s ain’t that kinda place. But if you’re hangin’ with your bros and want some damn good and cheap tacos this is el lugar. And you may wish to read the one filtered review, too.

this place is even better as a grocery store, meat market and hole-in-the-wall taco shop than it was when it was pizza hut. if you crave REAL mexican street tacos, birria, carnitas, carne asada, chorizo, etc. etc… THISPLACEWILLNOTDISAPPOINT.
