I grew up on summers spent at the Ramsey Lake State Park. They have nice, clean camp sites. A perfect area for kids to play, ride bikes and get dirty. You can have electricity and running water or you can rough it in the tent camping. They even have a cabin to rent. A decent dock area to fish from. Plus a beautiful drive around the lake. Altogether the lake isnt’ so big but it isn’t bad. We spent last 4th of July week there as our summer vacation with our 5 yr old and 7 mo old. We parked the pop up right next to the bath house and the play ground and we were set. It was a nice laid back week.
The only down side is no swimming. Minus one star for not being summer heat friendly. Vandalia (15 minutes away) has a public pool and a lake with a beach but camping sucks there.
