Dunbar Air Conditioning & Heating

In summer 2014, I represented a client buying a large, historic home in Alkali Flat warmed by commercial boilers and cooled by multiple AC units. The seller had a history of working with Dunbar and trusted them because of the intricacies of the system. We’d been told Dunbar had already fixed the issues of this burdensome AC and heater unit, and the nonresident seller thought her system was working well; we had to clarify it wasn’t upon inspection.
To support my client, I spoke with Chris @ Dunbar H&A. Chris seemed very knowledgeable on the phone, however the escrow was held up due to his delays and apparently conflicting stories he told the Seller and me. Very frustrating.
While I found a commercial pro, my client tried to work with Dunbar since he had history in the property. She shared the following today (1÷29÷15) but I’m not sure when she did the work:
«He no showed/​no call to multiple appts. And worse he turned off our hot water, ordered a part for the boiler, called to let us know it was in, then made us wait 6 weeks to come put the part in. We did not have hot water for 6 weeks.»
Based on my experience and that of my client, this guy gets one star and a big shake of the head.

Chris came out and serviced my unit on a Sunday afternoon when it was 102 outside. He was very calm polite and knowledgeable. He went above and beyond to explain everything to me in a clear manner. I had a leak from my ceiling and he was able to fix it and perform all the services necessary to get my unit running and blowing cold air. I highly recommend using this company. They were a lifesaver on a ridiculously hot day.

My heatpump broke in the dead of winter. I called another company who said it was ‘dead’ and i needed a new $ 15 000 unit, AND i had to wait until Monday to get it ordered.
Recommended to Chris Dunbar by a neighbor, I called, they came out the same day, and he said, «why don’t you have the emergency heat on?». I hadn’t even remembered I had that. But, turns out the first company had turned that off from the attic. They lied to us and we had been in 45 degree living room weather.
He took the time to actually look at my square footage, insulation, and windows to make a recommendation. I appreciated his thoughtfulness and professionalism.
Dunbar made us whole. Got it turned on, saved me $ 4000 and I will never use anyone else again. Felt great to be warm.

Dunbar heating and air is an amazing company. After one company came out and looked at my ac they said I need to spend $ 11,000 for a new furnace and ac. I obviously wanted a second opinion. My wife called around and Dunbar was local and they came and looked at my ac. After an hour of looking at it. He said that I just needed to clean my coils and change my filter. Systems is working great now! Thanks a lot!
