Its a nice park, great play structure and sand pit HOWEVER there are NOBATHROOMS or drinking fountains, which the fountains are no big deal you can always bring your own water but NOBATHROOMS come on! It’s really hard to use the park for a bbq or birthday party because you don’t want a group of people to be stranded without a bathroom. It’s a bit of a disappointment! it would have been nice if it had a water feature as well. Most new parks these days have some type of water play :(…guess we will be spending time at the new sun ridge park :(

Finally a park. What a great space to run around. Plenty of space for a pick up football or soccer game. The ground is rounded so you gotta work for that goal. Great play area for older kids and sand pit(yuck!) for the tots. There’s an overhang for shaded seating and a BBQ pits. BYO charcoal. There’s no water fountain so don’t come without water bottles. Scenic view of the wetland preserve and roaming cows. Decent neighborhood park. Also, to correct a previous poster, the Cordova Recreation and Parks District is responsible for the park, not the city of RC.

Wonderful neighborhood park! I am so happy to have a great park so close to visit with our children. They did a great job on the whole project. It is never crowded and has everything you can want. It will be even better as the trees mature and provide more beauty and shade.

We moved into our house in early 2008 and were promised a grocery store by the end of the year and a park in the not too distant future. Fast forward to July of 2013, there is still no grocery store in sight(much to our dismay) but we FINALLY have our neighborhood park! More than FIVEYEARSLATER! It’s very nice to no longer have to load the kids into the car to get to the nearest park, we can now walk there. The kids love to run in the huge field, try to play basketball on the half court(they are still way too small for this), have lunch at one of the four picnic tables under a shade structure, swing on the swings, play in the sandbox and climb and slide on the playground equipment. However, we do feel that the city of Rancho Cordova skimped on our park and many other neighbors agree. Originally, the field was supposed to have a baseball diamond with backboard and soccer goals. We were told midway through that they would buy portable equipment instead of the permanent ones, but I have not heard where this is stored nor how to obtain use of them. The field is large enough to have had a full basketball court, rather than just a half court. Many dog owners wish that a portion of the field could have been fenced off to let their dogs run free, as the law is that dogs must be on leash at all times in the park(which I appreciate since I have small children that I do not wish to be mauled). There is no shade, other than over the small picnic area(they do provide two bbq grills and a good number of trash cans, which is nice) and that makes the play equipment boiling hot much of the summer. Worst of all, no water and no bathrooms. None at all. We were told that a water fountain would have been cost prohibitive! What all this means is that we lug over a cooler with water as the kids inevitably get very thirsty playing in the hot sun and one bottle of drink will not suffice. It also means that two hours is our absolute limit as someone eventually has to use the bathroom and there is nowhere to go. You can see in my pictures that the nearest houses are still blocks away. We will never have a party here for this reason. Also, the playground equipment and basketball court can get crowded at certain parts of the day and our neighborhood is maybe only halfway complete. Our understanding is that this is the only park planned for us. Once it is complete I can see the park being overrun, as nearly everyone has small children. While we appreciate finally having our neighborhood park, we feel slighted and disappointed based on what we were promised when we originally moved here. If I did not love my house and we were in a better financial situation, I feel as though we might be looking to move elsewhere in the Sacramento area.

Beautiful park with plenty of grass for running and playing! A walking/bike path surrounds the ample lawn. A picnic area complete with grills is situated under a shade cover next to the playground and sand box. There is also a nicely paved half court for basketball. The only downside: NOWATER. No fountain or nozzles, so bring your own!
