My first time in Palos Verde showing a family from Florida around, we spotted this Lil store & decided to go in to buy lotto tickets & scratch offs $ 50 worth. The male owner was very rude he snatched my money out my hand, I was taken aback by this, so I thought maybe he was rushing, that wasn’t the case he place my «bills» change on the counter not in my hand. So I waited to watch how he handle his next customer, he kindly takes his money & place his«coin» change into the palm of his hand. I pray one of our lottery tickets are a winner, so that way I will let the world know how rude he was to his new customers.

I don’t know what you guys are talking about, every time I go in to get something, the guy at the counter(I guess he’s the owner) doesn’t say anything. Not even a smile or a hello or thank you. Rings up my purchase, tells me the price and that’s it. The girl who’s there(I assume it’s someone related to him) is the exact opposite, smiles and is very nice. I’d give it another star for convenience.

Always a friendly face and a welcoming hello. Steve and his wife know my dad, brother, sisters, nephews and nieces… And ask us how we are doing(as they see us) great service and always have what you need.

I’m local and I adore the owner Steve and his wife. They even made sure to carry my favorite Ben & jerrys without me asking. Yes, I’m chubby. The store has everything.

Had to stop by for a trip down memory lane. He grew up here and we stopped by to chat about childhood and glimpse at the past. Little place is convenient and it’s obviously frequented by the locals. I know I’d visit if I lived near here. Terrific drive through the hills and the twisty roads. Great conversation about growing up and living in PV. Really enjoyed hearing him talk about his life as a child… warms my heart. Great location and I hear the owners are wonderful.

This is my new regular place to stop on my bicycle to refill water when I am riding around Palos Verdes. Very relaxing and safe location across the street from the Fire Department. The owner is a nice guy who lets me use a credit card to buy water because as he explained, they don’t charge him a fee on such small amounts anymore.

So, my daughter now goes to school up the street. She frequently waits at the Deli, and Steve and his wife, Michelle — treat her like she is family. For what it is, this location is great, not a huge selection, but it’s convenient and the owners are super nice. During my weekend jogs, I frequently stop in to get a drink and I’m always greeted with a friendly smile from Steve and Michelle. You can also chase your Lotto dreams here.

Perfect place for last minute grabs without having to trek down the hill. The best part? STEVE the owner. He’s awesome. Steve and his wife will remember you and everyone else in your family by name. When my housekeeper runs to pick something up(he’ll ask if its for me) and knows what I’d use. In our fast paced, impersonal world(were people rarely bother to say hi) Steve and his wife are a breath of fresh air. Small town hospitality with modern day convenience. Need ice, a fresh sandwich, wine or coffee? Steve’s got you covered. Having a party and run into the«Oops, running out of Booze» problem and it’s close to closing time? Don’t worry, call Steve and he’ll stay open to wait for you. In this day and age, who else does that? Oh, and if you notice they’re missing your«favorite» item, just let them know. They’re cool like that and will make sure to order it for you(for the next time you drop in). What more can I say, we love this little spot and the owners even more :)
