As a vendor this is the second time I’ve been terribly disappointed with this show. It is expensive to do and I should have learned my lesson the first time. Shame on me. I will never do it again. If anyone wants to know more details please ask me privately via Unilocal and I will share. thanks.

I’ve been to various car shows over the years, but never a Concours D’Elegance until this past weekend. Turns out this was their 22 year, but I’ve always heard about it after the fact. I guess I’ve been hanging with the wrong circle of friends, LOL. LOCATION: Trump National Golf Club in RPV. What could be a better setting than a beautiful golf course overlooking the Pacific Ocean? This year’s theme was Automotive Innovation and featured Cord and Tucker automobiles, as both marques were very innovative in their time. For example: Cord in 1929, was the first American front-wheel drive car to be offered to the public! A front wheel drive car 85 years ago? And I bet you thought the Japanese were the first! Tuckers featured a 3rd headlight which turns to shine into corners, numerous items for crash protection /passenger safety, plus a rear mounted engine, etc. Three beautiful examples of the 1948 Tucker were on display and one is owned by Preston Tuckers grandson! There were numerous other cars to admire and oogle over too. Ranging from micro cars and VW’s, to the Mustang and Porsche 911, each celebrating their big 5 – 0 this year, from Packards, Cadillacs and Duesenbergs to an incredible, custom bodied 1936 Bentley Roadster, plus everything in between! Take a few minutes to stroll through the 90 photos I posted and you’ll see what I mean! While there were many stunning and unique automobiles on display, I was quite enamored with this particular Eastern Bloc car from the Czech Republic, a 1966 Tatra 603! The power plant is very unique, a rear mounted, air-cooled, 2.5 liter V8! OVERALL: With the temp in the mid 90’s and very little breeze, it was a brutal day for a car show. However with the beautiful Pacific Ocean backdrop and a stunning collection of vehicles on display, it’s a much less costly($ 55 for parking & entry) and far less crowded alternative to the famed Pebble Beach Concours D’Elegance.
