Read the reviews and did not have high expectations but got two different subs one was the Italian and it was da bomb! Ingredients so fresh and a sandwich that would feed two. I have been to about 20 sandwich places in a 5 mile radius and this will be a return visit for me! Great quality and a good value.

When the lady was taking the pastrami out of the microwave I saw her drop a good portion of the pastrami all over the counter top. I tried to make it clear that I was watching but she still put the dirty counter pastrami in my sandwich. Not a happy customer.

After new ownership the portions are much smaller, salads portions have been cut in half and the prices didn’t get cut eighter, they are all good people whom works there but not the same servings any more.

This place has been a staple for nearly 20 years at this point, one of my absolutely favorite local sandwich spots. If you can cover your ears to drown out the«OMGBUSYBEE» constant screaming this spot is fantastic. Sure, it’s dingy. Sure, the employees are among the most unenthusiastic you’ll likely ever come across. But the sandwiches(especially the California Turkey and Italiano) are fantastic. And that’s all that matters.

First off, when we walked into the store, no one was there to greet us. When we were finally greeted, we ordered two sandwiches. The first sandwich made was the meatball. I was surprised to see that they warm it up after they wrap it in paper. Another surprise, the bread looked like uncooked dough. The second sandwich was a turkey and cheese. It was good. I mean can you mess up a cold cut? The only reason I gave them 2 stars was because the meatballs and sauce was tasty. I don’t think they have air conditioning, it was really hot while we were ordering.

Very good. Come here regularly. They have a great meatball sandwich. The service is very good, the people behind the counter take their time to build your sandwich instead of slopping it on there. The prices are a bit steep, will run about $ 19 on average for 2 subs with chips and drinks. Good place for quick lunch.

Best cookies ever! I have also tried the meatball sub and a turkey sub and was happy with both. Also, the employee helping me suggested that I get the combo because it would end up costing less than what I was ordering. Thanks for the service!

Best chicken salad sandwich! It is very simple, just chicken chunks, in mayo with salt that’s it, but when you add it to all the other toppings, damn its good stuff! The staff are great and always very cool, especially the one woman who works there most often. I forget her name, hispanic with a couple tats on her hand or arm, not sure, but anyway she is very cool and makes one hell of a sandwich. Some say the bread is too hard, but it has gotten better throughout the years. I usually get a subs special and chicken eat half of each and save the other halves for the next day. The bread is never soggy or anything, just make sure u say easy lettuce otherwise it will be wilted and that’s no bueno the next day. Stop by for lunch or dinner and pick up an everything cookie while your at it. GREAT cookie has macadamia, chocolate chips, coconut, well everything in it and tastes awesome!

Subs R Us used to be my fav sandwich place, recently they made some changes. They are using the cheapest precessed meat I have ever seen, the prices have also gone up. So you pay more for much less of a product.

I’m a subs r us guy lol. I always get my bacon chicken ranch with wheat bread. The service is pretty consistent and the food is always good. I’ve been coming here for a while and don’t really ever have an issue. I can’t write too much about other things on the menu because I’m one of those people who eat the same thing over and over and over again hahaha.

The crunch of the bread… the fresh veggies… I love the Avocado Lover’s sandwich. Subway can try, but they’re just no competition for Subs R Us!

Yikes! My partner and I came here after being ignored downstairs at Saladish. We wish we had the opportunity to walk away from this place but we were already too deep into the ordering process. They had sliced our bread and started assembling our sandwiches when a lady complained that her California salad didn’t include bacon or avocados as advertised. The woman behind the counter said«I’ll give you some on the side», and the customer said«no, that’s not the point, this is not the salad I ordered.» The woman behind the counter said«if you want bacon and avocado, I’ll give them to you.» But the customer had a point. She ordered a California salad, and was given a Chinese Chicken Salad. Dressing and ingredients are completely different. They continued to argue some more until the woman behind the counter finally decided to build a new salad. Boy did she look upset! Meanwhile, we got our sandwiches and just as we were about to sit down, a different woman discovered a live bug in her salad(it was still moving). She shrieked and showed it to the man behind the counter. He looked at it and shrugged it off. We didn’t hear any apologies. The woman asked for her money back and went away. While we ate our sandwiches(I ordered a pastrami, which actually was pretty decent), the man behind the counter started cleaning up and mopping the floor. He was talking to the woman behind the counter in Spanish. I couldn’t understand it, but my partner was telling me that they were complaining and making fun of the woman who discovered the bug. I would have given this place 1 star, but I did give an extra star because the sandwich I had was pretty good.

Subs R Us was alright! It filled a need; a quick sandwich pit-stop. It was a pretty easy introduction into my first meat– sampling experience; a Turkey Avocado sandwich, which I got to watch be made and point out exactly what I wanted. I wish there was a better bread selection tho, or just something else besides either white or whole wheat soft, gummy rolls.

I really enjoy their sandwiches because of their bread, tastes like french bread in that its a little crusty on the outside and really soft on the inside. I prefer their bread to Busy Bee’s any day, but the pastrami itself is heartier and yummier at Busy Bee. (so hard not to compare a sandwich place in San Pedro to Busy Bee) I like the turkey with avocado, it never lets me down. I also like getting the specials, like the #2 its a large turkey sub, with a soda and chips for $ 6.99.

I do love me some Subs R Us but have noticed things have changed with the new owner. I picked up some lunch here yesterday and didn’t really get the same yummy taste I was expecting when I sunk my teeth into my favorite tuna sandwich that I have ordered a hundred times before. I already expect the bread to be a little on the crusty side, but today even my husband and parents said it was waaaay too hard, it must have been sitting around for way too long. The tuna was slightly different, I can’t tell you why, but it just didn’t taste the same. It wasn’t terrible, just not the usual taste I had grown to love. Made me think, I miss the old days when Hector and Joe were running the shop. Guess I’ll be heading over to Hector’s Place in LB for my fav tuna sandwich!

Seems like it used to be a Subway. Had a tuna sub. Bread was fresh and tasty. Pretty average. A safe choice if you’re in the area and need a sandwich.

I can’t believe I hadn’t written a review for subs until now. I’ve only been eating here since I was 16… Points off the bat for the fresh baked bread in-house everyday. Bread is key people, and they do it right here. You know when you go to Subway and everything is so measured and precise so as to not give you an shred of lettuce… not happening here. Gracias a dios! They load up the avocado too without any extra charge. The California Chicken is my sub of choice. Fresh chicken breast, bacon and avocado. So damn good! One of the better sandwich shops in Pedro… check it out.
