Just enrolled my daughter and couldn’t be happier! My daughter is so excited to be a part of Zap and the staff there has been so fantastic. They have answered all my questions and getting information on what to do next is super easy. They are very responsive by phone and email. I will post a follow-up as time goes on but I have to tell you that they are extremely professional and truly care about the students. The program helps builds confidence as well as team spirit. My daughter is also very excited that she will be swimming with her friends.

I have been on ZAP for almost 7 years, and it has been a huge positive part of my life. I was on the Fun and Fitness program when I was four, but left after it ended to go to another team. I came back when I was 6 and started on the competitive team. I was quickly brought into the«family», and we found that the coaches treat us like friends and everyone is treated equally, no matter their speed. I got better and faster because of the great coaching of Shari and DeAnne. I began making the travel teams, where we had fun trips to Phoenix and Las Vegas. Some of my closest friends were made from this team and I greatly reccommend this to any person looking for great people and a chance to swim, competitevely or just for fun.

I enrolled my daughter who is a senior in high school in the ZAP non competitive swim for high school students in August 2009. This was billed as a program that would allow the kids to continue to develop before the high school swim programs kicked in. The pool used was at the South End Complex in Torrance and the coach was Jeff Preyer. I was very disappointed with this program and the coaching. The kids were allowed to use only part of the pool and it was over crowded. There are no swim lanes designated and the kids are told to do circular circuits keeping their head down. My daughter actually hit another boy head to head quite hard and was dazed. Another parent was there and said she didn’t respond to anyone right after the incident and had to get out as she didn’t feel good. I was called by the parent to pick her up, not by the coach and had to watch her over night and the next day as directed by her doctor. After that I told her to keep looking up so she could see. The coach chastized her for this. Seven weeks later, while doing push ups, she jumped into the pool and managed to pull a muscle in her back. It hurt so bad she just stood for a while. The coach told her to get out. Since she was still hurting she decided to climb out using the stairs. The coach chastized her for using the stairs and taking so long. Once she told him she must have pulled something, he just moaned and said«you hurt yourself again?» and walked away. This is not the type of behavior I expect from someone who I am paying good money to. My daughter who is a decent swimmer and has liked swimming for the high school team is now turned off by the poor coaching of the ZAP program(they focused only on elementary fundamentals and conditioning) and lack of respect she receives. This is the worst consequence in my mind. Needless to say I will not be re-enrolling my daughter and will tell everyone that this program is definitely not worth it at any price.
