One and done for me. Atmosphere outside was nice and so was our waiter. The food however left us wishing we had tried another restaurant. I had the veal saltimbocca. Portion was small and veal was a little tough. My wife had shrimp fra diavlo. Only 4 shrimp and the sauce didn’t even have a hint of spiciness. It tasted like sauce out of a can! You win some you lose some. Don’t see how so many people rave about it.

My wife and I went to Rosie’s with two other couples last night. What a great experience! The restaurant is beautiful. We sat at a table inside overlooking the outdoor seating area. A great space, nice and bright and cheerful. Our waiter was fantastic(I just wish I remembered his name). He was very attentive and friendly. The food was excellent! My wife and I had homemade pasta specials which were amazing! Mine was made with chicken sausage which I loved. The desserts were also great. My wife and I shared a raspberry white chocolate cake and we loved it! Definitely recommend Rosie’s Trattoria to anyone in the area!

We weren’t that hungry so we passed on the appetizers and went straight to the entrees. Entrees came with a mixed green salad and choice of dressing. There’s a wide range of entrees that can cost anywhere from $ 16 -$ 38. Tonight we had the lasagna and chicken giambatta. Both were delicious. We didn’t think we’d have room for dessert, but opted to share a lava cake with a scoop of ice cream. We were glad we did. It was one of the nicest lava cakes we’d had in a while. While the service was outstanding at the beginning of our meal, our waiter seemed to forget about us towards the end. We sat quite a while before we could get his attention to get the bill. But this was just a minor inconvenience. We would definitely recommend Rose’s and plan to come back again.

Roses is alway great, although a bit small it’s great food and very inviting. Been coming here since they ran a small pizza place up the street, the quintessential mom and pop resturant. The owners are always there and the food is outstanding.

I’ve been coming here since the beginning(Rosie used to own a small place on the mini golf course down the street) and the food has always been delicious and super authentic. The service is great and Rosie is always there to greet us! Definitely a great place for a family dinner or date!

Amazing food and service! The staff is incredibly friendly but not at all overbearing, the food is mouth-watering and I can order something I’ve never tried before with the confidence that it will be delicious. They have a liquor license so if you’re craving something other than wine they whip up good, strong drinks. I’ve been here several times with my family and none of us has ever had anything but a perfect experience. Their beet salad and stuffed mushrooms are my favorites, but the chicken & sausage giambatta and chicken francese are wonderful. To be fair I’ve never tried their desserts(I’ve never had room for any, haha), but they all LOOK tasty. Kids are also ok to bring here, but Rosie’s seems better suited for adults.

Very good food and great service. It can get quite expensive with some of the entrees and specials overpriced.

My boyfriend and I tried Rosie’s for his birthday in 2014. The food was so incredible and the staff was very friendly and attentive. We’ve been back a few times since. It’s great that it is literally 3 minutes from home. So it’s nice to have an amazing place to eat and not have to drive very far! This has quickly become one of my favorite italian places to dine. The penne vodka and chicken fettuccine Alfredo are my absolute favorites! We use to go to another Italian restaurant not too far away, and it has gone down hill! I’m sure you can figure it out of you look at my other reviews!

Beautiful beautiful old school restaurant with a hint of family style dining. Before I start my review, let me give you guys a tip: On a Friday or Saturday night, make reservations! On a Saturday night, an old college buddy(that I haven’t seen for years) and I decided we needed carbs for dinner and Unilocaled up Italian restaurants and saw the glowing review of this place. We took our 30 minute drive and BAM!!! 45 minute wait. We didn’t mind as there was an old school bar by the entrance. After a few rounds of IPAs while watching the game, we were seated. The dining room is extremely cozy(read: a very tight fit). The waitstaff was on point. Our orders were taken promptly(as we already looked through the menu while at the bar), and the wait begins. I don’t know whether it was because we were starving, but the food took a while. Longer than usual. Again, we waited 45 minutes and there was still a line by the door. I’m sure the kitchen staff was overwhelmed. We weren’t complaining as we ordered more drinks and had a chance to chill out and chat. When or order was ready, it was heaven. We ordered: — Garlic bread w/Mozz as an appetizer — Pork Chop Murphy(my friend) — Lobster Ravioli(myself) It was delicious! Cooked to perfection. After our dinner, a dessert display was presented to us. As full and satisfied as we were, the display looked really enticing. Sold!!! Coffee and dessert. Since my buddy is from a Hispanic background, we both decided to order the flan. I thoroughly enjoyed it, while he said his mother makes a better flan. The whole experience was 5 stars in my book. Next time, I’ll know to make reservations! This looks like a great date night place to bring the ladies, but I wouldn’t come here in a big group unless everyone is cool with just spending a lot of time chilling and chatting while eating.

Rosie’s was a new find for us earlier this year. It has since become our go to restaurant for delicious and authentic Italian cuisine. I can honestly say that every dish and meal we’ve had here has been fresh, cooked to perfection, and simply delectable. We also found the servers to be both knowledgeable and courteous. Explaining in detail each of the specialty dishes as well as addressing any questions and concerns we may have. I also want to take this opportunity to thank personally Rosie and her staff for everything they did to make our recent 40th anniversary dinner quite memorable. The complimentary champagne was unexpected, the food was delicious as always, and having all the waiters come by and give us their good wishes during dessert was a nice touch. It was clearly evident that Rosie made sure the staff went out of their way to make my wife and I feel very special on this very special day. THANKYOU!!! Bottom line — Morris County has many good Italian restaurants but I can guarantee you that you will find no other that has this combination of great food, great service, great ambience and the sense that you are truly valued as a customer.

First time dining at Rosie’s last night(Saturday night). By far one of the best Italian restaurants in Northern NJ. Traditional Italian cuisine paired with excellent service, made the romantic dinner with my girlfiend. Food was delicious and well prepared, waitstaff was excellent. It’s always nice to see the owner in the restaurant involved in the customer experience, Rosie was very attentive and personable to each table. Will definitely be going more often and recommending to everyone I know. Whether it’s a casual dinner, a romantic evening with your other half or a family event, you’ll be happy you went to Rosie’s.

We were a party of 8 and sat outside because the inside smelled old and moldy. They put two tables together on the patio — one shorter than the other so I felt that I was at the ‘kids’ table — ours was the one without a table cloth. Kerosene torchs were lit to keep the mosquitos away but it served to stunk up the entire patio area. Fortunately we were upwind, otherwise we would have been smoked out. Service was attentive and the food was OK — specials were way overpriced. For $ 300 I expected more. If you’re in the area, try Verona — it’s literally ¼ mile away and offers a much more enjoyable experience.

Rosie’s is located in a quaint brick house with an inviting patio. We dined inside since the weather was rainy. Excellent drinks and great bread to start your meal with. We tried the octopus appetizer — tasty octopus but they tried to make it look a lot larger than it was with a ton of arugula that we didn’t really need to eat since the entrée’s came with salad. Entrée’s were good — my farfalle came with 4 large shrimp in a brandy cream sauce. I really enjoyed it. My husband got the bolognese which came with homemade fusulli. He enjoyed the sauce but found the pasta to be too heavy for the dish. Desserts and coffee were good and a generous portion. Service started out great and then deteriorated towards the end of the evening. I asked 3 different people for a glass of wine that took forever to get and several different people for the coffee that we ordered that took also forever to come. They comped us the coffee due to the wait. I suggest that if you can, eat outside — the inside needs updating badly and all the rooms smell musty, the air conditioner does not work too well and the bathrooms were gross.

I cannot say it enough. This restaurant is a class act. Always consistent. I can’t even tell you how many times I’ve been here at this point! I have yet to have a bad experience here. The owner/manager(?) comes over to us each and every time. The service is downright OUTSTANDING.

It’s been amazing to see how far Rosie’s has come over the past 15 years. Minus one star because my salmon was a bit dry — but everything else about the dish was 5 stars. The dishes around my table were superb as well. The menu has great variety without being too overwhelming. The pasta dishes are creative and the meat/fish dishes are plentiful. Even the starter salad, with mixed greens and shredded vegetables, is much better than the typical salad you would receive at an Italian restaurant. Most of all, the service is wonderful. The waiters and waitresses could not be more attentive and polite. They did everything right — from engaging in friendly conversation to helping my mother put on her coat. Though the restaurant was packed, there was no indication that they were trying to push us out. This is something my family really appreciates, and we’ve noticed it over the years at Rosie’s. They are genuinely happy to have us there.

Rosie’s is actually a Cinderella story. Back in the day, maybe 15 years ago she owned Rosie’s Ice Cream, adjacent to the Randolph Driving Range & mini golf course. Her husband Joe began adding some Italian dinner specialties to the menu that were pretty incredible. Word spread quickly in a town that was basically void of solid dining choices and they got fairly busy. The problem was the venue. They were an ambienceless(is that even a word) ice cream shop with great Italian food. No one could have been happier than me when they announced they were moving. The amazing thing is that they went from a bland little ice cream store to a hell of a nice restaurant without issue. Food and service are still great. And, while the dining scene in Randolph remains somewhat bleak, Rosie’s stands in shining contrast. It remains a favorite for my sons and I. See you soon, Rosie. Brandon will have the chicken fingers and fries. I’ll have the veal.
