***This business is under new management since previous reviews were written. John Greene is now running the show and doing a wonderful job!*** This is a great place for meeting up with your friends, meeting new friends or spending a nice time with your family. Located conveniently off of highway 57 near Random Lake and not far from Adell, this establishment is easy to find and parking is never a problem. It’s a great place to stop for a bite to eat and/or have a relaxing beverage when traveling through the area. It’s impossible to NOT find something to wet your whistle at the bar. The drinks are stiff and made to order– you can’t go wrong with a Brandy Old Fashioned Sweet or a «Sexy Bartender.» I also enjoy the variety of tap and bottle beer. The menu is delicious bar and grill-type cuisine. There is a wide variety of butter burgers, chicken sandwiches, po’ boys, mushroom & swiss and more. I love getting a burger in a basket with waffle fries. The last time I was in, the owner told me that he only uses certified Angus beef and toasted Oostburg hard rolls. Mmmm… I love the Friday Night Fish Fries as well– YUM!!! If I’m lucky to be in the area on a Friday, I definitely stop there for breaded cod, pan-fried perch or «poorman’s lobster.» The atmosphere is friendly and always promises a good time. The bar area is huge and great for live-musical performances, sport viewing, general socializing, private parties and more. There’s also a patio with nice greenery and a fire pit that can seat about 20 – 30 people. A private party room, which can seat about 30 people, is also available by request. The owner, John Greene, served Ronald Reagan while he was acting president and received raved reviews– clearly, he’s been around the block a few times and knows what he’s doing! ALSO: «LIKE» their Facebook page to catch randomly posted discounts and coupons on delicious cuisine and bar specials! «Double Bubble» is always a good time!

The Big Easy Bar & Grill is most definitely an atypical local hangout in an area that is primarily composed of unincorporated small towns. My boyfriend is from Batavia so we occasionally find ourselves in this neck of the woods(about one hour north of Milwaukee). The opening of this establishment filled a void in this area that howled to the moon in the dark of night. The Big Easy is a mardi gras themed restaurant and bar with authentic masks hanging on the walls that the owner has brought back with her over the years on her trips to Louisiana. The spot is composed of two main parts. The first part is the bar area with jukebox and a wraparound bar. Through a door is a dining area as well as a couple of arcade games and two of the best pool tables(excuse me, billiards!) north of Chicago. There is also a patio area out back with enough room to set a beer down and have a smoke break if that’s something you indulge in. Now the drink options here are fairly standard with the addition of a couple seasonal beers on tap. For grub they have po’ boys, chicken sandwiches, appetizers, salads and wraps, burgers, pub chips, curly fries, and the trending pretzel bun. The food is what sets the Big Easy apart from the other establishments in the area… being ever mindful that ‘options’ is a bit of stretch to being with! The plates are prepared made to order and the ingredients are better and fresher than what one would expect at a local pub. The atmosphere is definitely on the lighter side and best enjoyed with a sense of humor and a pint!
