Comstock Plumbing

Very very happy with Comstock! My husband, bless his heart is NO plumber, and for two years couldn’t figure out why our water softener never worked. They scheduled an appt for the next day, I was given a window, and Jay promptly called when promised. He and his coworker solved the problem in half an hour and Jay answered all our questions. I will definitely call them with any future plumbing issues. The $ 25 off coupon is on their website is a bonus too. I was torn between calling GE and Comstock but now have been made a believer :)

I live in a rural home with a well pump, and my water had stopped during the coldest day of the year. I had assumed that the pipes had frozen, so I called the folks at Comstock. Within two hours they were at my house. And within 15 minutes they had found a faulty wire in my pump system, nearly 50 feet below the surface. It took them only an hour to get my whole house running again, even in below-​freezing temperatures. They charged a very reasonable hourly fee and offered me free advice on future preventative measures for potential freezes. I would highly recommend this company for any emergency plumbing needs.

They fixed some bad leaks at our place and were in and out very quickly and the work was done perfectly. Problem fixed. There was a delay getting them here but this was due to vehicular issues outside their control so not counting off for this.

I called Comstock Plumbing on Monday about water pressure issues that I isolated to my whole house iron removing water filter. I live in the Appalachian mountains and I’m on well water. They were able to send Jay out the next day, first thing in the morning to troubleshoot the issue.
Jay and his coworker took the whole filter system apart piece by piece checking for a blockage. They even cleaned all the goop off of a pipe that they removed from one of the two tanks. Jay explained everything he was doing and answered all of my questions. He showed me what he found that was causing the pressure issues, (two tiny pebbles in the backflow preventer) and put everything back together. I checked the water pressure and, bingo! it was fixed.
The cost was very reasonable. The service fee and an hour or so of labor, (they charge in 15 minute increments). They also have a coupon for $ 25 off a service call on their website.
I called another outfit that had won the 2013 Angie’s List best blah blah blah, who tried to tell me over the phone that the whole system needed to be replaced. I was really irritated that he was trying to junk my whole system before the tech even came out, so I called Comstock instead. And I’m glad that I did.
Comstock had been in business for 40+ years, which is definitely a good sign.
I will definitely be calling on Comstock for any future problems with my water filter system.

Comstock was assigned to repair a cracked pipe in my home though my home warranty company. They were very fast from receiving the call to to getting a tech to my house and having the job complete. The Tech was very informative via telephone before the job keeping me informed on when he would be arriving. I would recommend this company to anyone and I hope to use them again in the future.
