My original hotel was accidentally overbooked so they shushed my family out to boofu-land. Rantoul, just about 20 minutes outside of Champaign… nothing but crummy hotels, a walmart, gas stations and stretches of farmland. I knew this hotel was less than mediocre when the sign in front says«Thur you go.» What the f word? Anyways, their motel style hotel rooms kind of creep me out. Got into my room and it reeked of stale air and dust. I was so disgusted. The paint was chipping off the walls, the floor felt grimy and you could feel all the indentations. 3 spiders just popped out of no where all while i was brushing my teeth or using the bathroom. The bed just seemed like the sheets have been there for months and hadn’t been washed or changed. Oh and decided to shower and the tub became clogged. It was gross. I hoped it would drain but the following morning it was still clogged. Stay here if there is no hotel availability whatsoever in Champaign but avoid it at all costs. At least it kept me from sleeping in my car for the weekend.

Terrible experience. We had no choice to stay here as everything else was booked. The first room we received was never touched by housekeeping. The bed was unmade and the tv was still on. We asked for a new non smoking room and that room stunk of smoke and we found cigarette ashes on the nightstand. I wont even go into the other issues of this hotel.

Not a bad hotel for the price. The indoor pool was actually very nice with an open greenhouse, lounge area, pool table, and a few old arcade games. The rooms weren’t anything special but clean enough. The continental breakfast was just muffins, donuts, juice, and cereal. Staff was very friendly and accommodating.

Yuk! Stinks, and dated. Hot. But — at 1 am with 2 kids and no other rooms avbl? This place just had to do The clerk was normal and they take cash or credit There is a pool and 3 video games. It’s a flea bag of a motel but if ya need a room this will keep you from sleeping in your car.

When I needed a room at the last minute and literally all of the hotel rooms in Champaign-Urbana were booked, the Days Inn in Rantoul had a few vacancies. It’s adequate in every way. The rooms smell funny, the beds are lumpy, the pillows are flat, the carpets are stained, the swimming pool in the atrium is always full of shrieking kids, and the shower cannot maintain anything close to a steady temperature. However, the rates were low, the wireless Internet worked, and there were no egregious problems. Nobody stays here for the luxurious amenities. This is a budget motel that offers a bed and a bathroom. It’s not pleasant, but it serves its purpose. If you’re on a tight budget, or you can’t find another room, the Days Inn will suffice.

We stayed here out of necessity — we weren’t vacationing! A few weeks before our stay we talked to Cody who gave us all the information we needed and was extremely helpful and friendly. When we arrived, Cody was there and he was more than accommodating. He was helpful with a smile and made sure we were happy. The rooms are basic — it’s not a 4 star resort people. We stayed in the one room with a hot tub. It worked as a hot tub should so no complaints there! Unfortunately, the indoor heated pool had a broken heater so all I could do was stare at it, which made me sad. My biggest complaint? The ‘continental’ breakfast. A few sad looking donut holes, pieces of coffee cake and some white bread to make toast(and cereal) does not a continental breakfast make. But again, it’s Rantoul people. There is a great family restaurant across the street, a WalMart within walking distance and a slew of fast food restaurants all within a quarter of a mile. If you have to stay in Rantoul, I definitely suggest the Days Inn. And ask for Cody… he’s the best!!!

1980’s you can have your hotel back! Seriously this place is dated and somewhat grimy, but that is what made it fun. If you are looking for a nice quiet, relaxing hotel then this is not your place. We stayed here for my bachelor party and it was perfect for what we needed, but I would probably never stay here again. The bedding was gross, the rooms were not cleaned well, and I felt itchy the whole weekend. I am giving it two stars, because it’s the only place we could have stayed around Champaign that was cheap for homecoming weekend and we could be noisy when we came back.

We stayed for two nights. The room was clean and the staff was polite. The room was very basic which is all we were looking for. There weren’t any soaps, shampoos, or a bath matt in the room on our first night. Not a big deal since we brought our own supplies, but it seems like that is something all motel rooms should have stocked. The big frustration came when we checked out. They accidentally charged us twice for one evening. Basically, there were two same line items on the bill for the same evening. It’s was just a computer glitch that we pointed out. However, the clerk said that he couldn’t change the bill and we would have to wait for the manager to come in. We waited twenty minutes for the manager to come in and he removed the charge. I think it’s bad customer service for clerks not to have the authority to change an obvious mistake on the bill. What would have happened if we checked out in the early morning or we had to be somewhere at a specific time? They would have received four stars but one was removed for the room lacking basic amenities and the other for the needless delay at checkout.
