I had a really bad experience in this restaurant. We went for lunch and the rice was so small in quantity. When we asked for extra rice, we were charged for $ 3 which never happened to me in any Chinese restaurant. I would never recommend this place to anyone.

Stopped in on way to Mount Rushmore. I wouldn’t have selected the place by the exterior, but Unilocalers took care of us! Delicious food prepared with care. Friendly staff, experienced with children and helpful enough to let me know that we wouldn’t need the extra lunch special based on portion sizes. I have a deep affinity for round tables with the family style lazy susans at Chinese restaurants, so that was a little happy moment. We had four different entrees, soups, and egg roll and wonton that came with the lunch specials and all was good!

Crab Angles for an appetizer. Sweet & sour pork, and Moo Goo Gai Pan chicken. All very good. Very quick service even though they were packed. Would definitely come back again.

Buffet was limited but flavor was outstanding. Everything was very nicely cooked. Shrimp plate had plenty of shrimp (not mainly veggies like other places) and it was very tasty. Highly recommended.

The best Chinese I have ever eaten. As I have moved around the Midwest over the last few years I find myself constantly trying to find a meal that compares.
The staff is amazing!!!

Fairly cheap Chinese food, around $ 7 for lunch that includes an entrée, soup, and an eggroll. Overall, the food wasn’t too bad but did not feel very authentic.

This place is to die for. It doesnt have tht fake chinese flavors that are common in other Chinese food around here. The staff and owners are one of a kind. We love treating ourselves to jerrys cooking with a cold sapporo.

Big parking lot, nice clean interior and well lit. But not very impressed with the food. One order of crispy beef, requested it to not be spicy, it was not. It was not very flavorful nor all that crispy. Second meal was Schezwan beef. It was suppose to be spicy and was not. It also was lacking a lot of flavor. We had enough that we took half of each home but no better as left overs. Not all that impressed, we will try all the other Chinese places in town before returning here.

Good egg rolls and wanton. These are a nice touch from the usual dried up spring rolls other places. The Mongolian beef was wonderful and the sachewn chicken was also very good. The service was exceptional.

Golden Phoenix was probably the only truly pleasant, hassle-​free experience we had at a Chinese restaurant in the Rapid City area. We ordered a Yu Shang Squid and Fish along with a Mongolian Beef. Both very good portions, both very flavorful. And not bad for the price. The hostess/​manager was extremely talkative. She greeted and spoke to us in Mandarin and Cantonese, even though she’s from Fujian. She was originally from the San Gabriel Valley in LA but moved out to South Dakota for better business opportunities. Just very friendly and very smiley. Gave us lots of rice.
I think this is the only place I can truly recommend in Rapid City. At least there won’t be any weird stuff happening to you.

This is my favorite Chinese restaurant in town. The house special hot and sour soup is superb. The prices are good and the food is better.

OMG the best Chinese food in South Dakota. Lived in SD for 5 years and seriously craved a decent Chinese restaurant that didn’t offer a buffet (sorry, I don’t like to eat buffet food). The service was amazing, the host and waitress gave us all sorts of recommendations during our mini vacation to the area. Lunch specials a great deal. Wonton soup very flavorful and delicious. Beef and broccoli tender, I could swear it was made from filet mignon because it was tender like butter. Plan to hit the restaurant again before we leave! This restaurant seriously made me want to get a job in the area and move here!

My husband and I come by here for one of our meals everytime we are in town. We came here for the first time 8 years ago. We had lunch here yesterday on our way to the airport on our way home to LA. Their have great week day lunch specials, great selections, prices and hugh portions. My husband had the General Tso Chicken special that they have on Tuesdays. I had sweet and sour pork. You have your choice of soups: hot and sour, egg drop or wonton. Also, eggroll, fried wonton and white rice or fried rice. We each took ½ of our meals to go. We took them on the plane and ate them during our layover. We have lots of great Chinese restaurants in LA, but this rates as one of the best that we have ever eaten at.

Very dirty! First thing I noticed was how dirty the floors were. can you not vacuum throughout the day? Other places seem to manage. The girls bathroom garbages were filled, gross! The food was mediocre. Would I eat here again, def not

Definitely a place to see if you’re in town, especially if you want to leave full. Service makes you feel welcome, and the environment is clean and interesting.

I food was so bland. The chicken wing that came with my combo meal tasted kiie they only seasoned it with flour and nothing else. The egg roll tasted like it was frozen then reheated in the microwave. Fried rice was bland and my generals tso chicken was not spicy at all and also a disappointment. Next time someone says they’re going to this place I am definitely passing. Our table cloth even had a nasty old brown stain on it.

Best Chinese food in South Dakota, no contest. The best dishes are General Tso chicken, Mongolian beef, and sesame chicken. Service is fast and the prices are very reasonable.

Always so nice& the food is consistent — this or China Luck are our favorites, and we usually alternate where we go between those two :) (& for here, there IS a Korean menu available if you ask!)

By far the best chinese food in Rapid City. Also, they are very hospitable and the owner has a phenomenal memory. You always feel appreciated for bring your business here. It is definitely my first choice for anything chinese!
