While traveling around the southwest and midwest, all I wanted was a pair of real cowboy boots. However, one told me that all the nice ones were $ 400. State after state, store after store, it became apparent that I wouldn’t be able to afford a pair. Then, while driving back from a mini golf excursion, I saw the sign that made my heart skip a beat: DISCOUNT WESTERN WEAR.
Their regularly priced stuff was still a bit more than I wanted to spend, and the selection wasn’t too large, leaving me really dispirited. The woman who ran the store was very attentive and helpful, though, and was going to make sure I got the boots I wanted, dammit. She took me over to the mis-​matched boots section and found a pair that she thought I’d like. Now, by mis-​matched I mean somehow they ended up with pairs of shoes in different sizes. They weren’t exactly what I wanted, but they were still pretty great!
With a size 7 ½ boot in one hand and a size 8 in the other, I walked out of that store with a pair of great boots for under $ 100. Not to mention, a very happy boyfriend since he wouldn’t have to be dragged to yet another boot store on our trip.
