This isn’t my first time at Fisherman’s Catch. Lobster rolls are a hot commodity in Maine, and where my earlier experiences were pretty great(3 – 4 star material), my last few have fallen short. Sure, I like a lobster roll with a copious amount of lobster. But these don’t taste fresh, they have a watery texture that makes the $ 16.95 price tag a little hard to take. The 30 minute wait and savory service solidified the 2 star rating. Until next time?

Get the lobster roll and a beer. The food is amazing the lobster roll was piled high with fresh lobster and not a ton of mayo. Amazing and I highly suggest this place if your ever in Maine

This is the most convenient place to get seafood that’s right down the road from my camp. We always get steamed lobsters for holidays when out of town company comes up. They are always friendly and have good prices. I love that they steam lobsters and clams for no additional price. The only issue I had was recently for Mother’s Day I got steamers to bring to camp. They were sandy… this year I’ve gotten steamers from 3 different places and they were full of grit… maybe it’s the clams this year… idk. Fishermans catch were the best ones I’ve had this year but still a tad gritty. This is the only complaint in my 29 years of getting seafood here.

A great fish market with lobsters clams muscles fish etc. they will cook your lobsters for you if you call ahead or don’t mind waiting. They also have a restaurant area where mostly fried seafood, although they do have non fish options and non fried options. A great quick casual place.

Literally the perfect place to stop for a meal near Sebago. Our group of six dropped by after we got back from kayaking down the Crooked River and could not have been more thrilled by this little gem. The lobster rolls are delicious. They give you the option to choose what type of bread(I chose dusted garlic) and what type of seasoning for the lobster meat(I chose lemon, which was light mayo with lemon pepper). So much variety for a lobster roll! I’ve never been able to choose before, and it honestly made it so much better because I find a lot of lobster rolls way too heavy on the mayo. The amount of meat given is also inside. We got this as a combo with fried shrimp, which were small, but crunchy and delicious. My boyfriend and I also got a 1.25 lb steamed lobster on top of the lobster roll + fried shrimp combo platter. Having just had a lobster a week or so ago in Boston, I have to say I was shocked by how much better the lobster here was. The shell was much easier to crack and the meat was just so much juicier and more flavorful. AND it was about $ 10 cheaper than Boston! Literally amazing. Their fries are super crispy as well, and I would highly recommend dropping by Fishermen’s Catch for a casual meal.

My husband and I both had the lobster and steamers. Cooked to perfection. The teens enjoyed their chicken fingers too. Great fish place at the picnic tables. Outside was a little breezy when we were there but there is inside seating too.

Must agree with the other Unilocalers, haven’t had a lobster roll with as much lobsters in them as this place. Definitely the buttered garlic bread was better than the plain. It holds up better, good texture for the amount of lobster it has to hold. The lobster was fresh but not as sweet as I’ve had before, but given the quantity, you can’t go wrong. We also had small orders of the fries and onion rings. Was a bit hesitant as I saw these being taken out of the freezer packets into the fryer but the fries, especially was fabulous! Crispy and tasted a touch of butter! I got confused as there were two sets of choices you can make for your lobster roll. The first is for how you want your bun. The ‘mix’ is for how you want the lobster, itself, seasoned. It has a seafood market where you can buy lobster meat and other seafood items as well as fresh lobsters. Definitely a must for lobster rolls if you are in this area!

I was honestly not expecting such great lobster rolls. We just came from the NH coast and had a bunch of lobster rolls there and this place beat them out! Loaded rolls and you choose how you want the lobster and the roll. Mayo, butter, plain etc. Roll; grilled, plain etc. only comment would be bigger chunks of meat rather than the small ones and better beers. Very reasonable for portions. Service is mediocre at best

the best lobster rolls, clam strips, and haddock we had our entire trip! Great service and very good value for the amount of food you get.

Staying in Maine for a week and tried lobster rolls from all around the town. The Lobster roll here was the best one out of any that I ate for a number of reasons. They didn’t dress up the lobster with other fillins, just straight lobster, and they put the most lobster meat in the sandwich by almost twice as much as other sandwiches I have eaten. I got to the point where I was tired of trying other places rolls and I would only buy from this location. Highly recommended for lobster rolls.

Very good lobster rolls and onion rings. Lobster roll was packed full of tasty meat. Options for the rolls, garlic, plain, or toasted, and different lobster mixes like light mayo, lemon pepper were welcome. It’s a busy place! We waited a while for our food, I think the kitchen might have cooked meals out of order. The staff was very hardworking and brought our food as soon as they could.

Although the food is good the service is horrible. We placed our order and when served received the wrong order. When we told the server it was wrong we got a very snide response of «that’s what you ordered». Lobster rolls shouldn’t be rocket science. So we ordered again, payed again, and they feigned that they never received our second order. Here in Maine there are too many choices to go to for lobster to have to deal with bad service.

Went on a sunny weekday for lunch– The place has the cooked seafood offerings, plus the seafood market. I ordered the lobster roll w/light mayo & garlic dusted. YUMMY! Very tasty and good portion. Grabbed a beer, my lobster roll, a seat outside on the picnic table and enjoyed! Will be back and you should check them out.(they ship lobsters as well!)

Ate here several weeks ago. All 5 of us had lobster rolls for lunch, all agreed thet were excellent. Pricey, but it has to be that way for a great lobster roll. Fast friendly service. We sat outside, picnic tables with umbrellas. You’re sitting right beside Rte. 302 but we didn’t really mind. Inside seating and atmosphere is blah. For dinner I would want a nicer atmosphere, maybe the Galley, toward Naples. They also have great lobster rolls.

Best overstuffed lobster rolls with huge chunks of fresh meat & minimal filler. I drive up from New Bedford, MA, my own local lobster haven, to visit with friends in Lovell, ME. FC has become a must-stop while I’m in the area. Great price!!! Gotta branch out & try other menu offerings, too, next time. Just wish they’d make FRIEDLOBSTER! Now that would put them over the top!!!

Best, freshest, most delicious lobster rolls(full stop) No contest in the 6+ years I’ve been making an annual pilgrimage to the great state of Maine. They start with a great product and improve on the classic by adding options to flavor the roll(garlic butter? yes, please!) and lobster(a dash of lemon pepper? yes, please!). I know the purists out there might be calling sacrilege, but I think these additions accent rather than overpower the unctuous richness of the fresh lobster. Also, while I’m not really one to note the atmosphere of the establishment, the outside of the FC is a bit unassuming and does not belie the airy, quintessential ME interior with long blond communal tables which is quite charming and adds to the experience.

I usually get lobster rolls at a much more expensive place in Portland, but I’m totally in love with Fisherman’s Catch. I think I paid $ 12 for this beautiful gargantuan sandwich. They use a light hand with the mayo so you get a ton of lobster flavor, and give you choices on how you want your bun. Best of all, I waited 5 minutes for my lobster roll – compared to 15 minutes at the place in Portland. Also: it should be noted that this place is half restaurant-half seafood store. I picked up four 1.25 lb lobsters for only $ 20! I love my Portland place, but Fisherman’s Catch runs a close second. I can’t want to come back next summer.

I had lobster rolls at several places during our vacation to the Northeast. Fisherman’s Catch had the best lobster roll of my trip. For having the best rolls I tasted during my stay, they get five stars. The rolls here are huge. Each roll has easily 8oz. of lobster meat. There is not a lot of mayon either, so you get bite after bite of fresh lobster goodness. They have several styles too. Buns can be plain, buttered, or garlic dusted. The lobster can be regular with light mayo, butter only, or lemon pepper. I had the regular with buttered roll and the lemon with plain roll. Both were delicious. I also tried the clam strips, which were also very good. The criticism of this place is that there is not a lot of variety. They have seafood and a few sides like fries. Not much in the way of veggies. But you know what? You are here for the seafood, so enjoy it. Two lobster rolls were $ 23.95, so this is not cheap food. They have a small selection of decent bottled beer for $ 4.00 per bottle. Not bad. If I am ever in the area, I will stop by Fisherman’s Catch. I suggest you do the same.

First visit yesterday was slightly overwhelming as he doesn’t really eat shellfish, and I don’t really know how to purchase besides from a menu. In the end, he settled on two 1.5 lb lobsters at $ 6.99/lb. We took them to Andover, MA, where we joined our friends for a dinner, and the lobsters were yummy! I don’t think they really moved as they traveled two hours with us in the car, so I was concerned about the taste but a little butter later, and the lobsters were in our stomachs.

I’m beginning to think that lobster roll reviewing is like reviewing barbecue; it’s all a very subjective process. One person’s favorite will be another’s disappointment. When it comes to lobster rolls and nothing else, the Fisherman’s Catch is a great place to stop to grab a lobster roll for a great price; $ 12.95. That’s best price we’ve found for a lobby roll. The restaurant is in an A-frame on Route 302, headed west, just before intersection of Route 85, in Raymond. The bun was perfectly toasted, with butter, and the Fisherman’s Catch offers three choices of rolls, including the«classic,» which is with light mayo, and an interesting variation on the classic theme, the lemon pepper roll. I tried that one and liked it. The mayo is very light, which I appreciated. The lobster was fresh and succulent, just like all the best rolls I’ve sampled the past three summers. What I found disappointing was the lack of much beyond the lobster roll. The french fries and onion rings are frozen(not made in-house). There are no chowders. They do offer other sandwiches(haddock) for those not interested in a lobster roll. Glad we tried it, and the roll was very good. I just had expected a bit more. The FC is also a seafood market, shipping lobsters«all over the world.» I’m assuming they will cook a lobster to order. Service was just so-so. If in the area, I’d recommend Bob’s down the road, but if you just want a lobster roll that’s a bargain and nothing else, the FC won’t disappoint.
