Seafood was very good, clam chowder should compete for an award. Service was fine. Cost? You might think you were in Portsmouth, NH at a fancy restaurant. Portions were big, but so was the bill. I can appreciate the need to charge more for being out in the woods, but if I return, it will be to try the ice cream. Fish & chips for around $ 20? Not in this lifetime.

Good portions but I’m not paying that kind of price when there is much better not much of a drive a way

Very nice local seafood restaurant. Would give six stars if available. Awesome service. Yummy seafood chowder. Fresh fish and salad. Would definitely come back!

Wandering through the area and needing a fast lunch that was not too spicy(no pizza or Mexican) I stopped here. Ordered the«small» fish and chips and nearly fainted when the bill was close to $ 20! I was happier when my meal arrived and looked like enough for two. The fish was hot and crispy but not that great. It seemed like they use small scraps of leftovers for fish and chips. Mine tastel like several kinds of so-so fish — not super fresh but only one piece was too old. Onion rings very crispy but bland. Cole slaw was too upscale for me but you might like it. Food was very well prepared, service very friendly, restrooms clean. They have many flavors of Gifford’s ice cream(which I hate). This is a nice local restaurant and offers a change from pizza and burgers but I would not consider it a destination for great seafood(I still miss the late fish market in Milford.) any more than I would go to McDonald’s for a great burger.

I enjoy the pines seafood. Its fresh. its flavorful.the batter tastes great and the oil its cooked in seems quite clean. They offer a really nice variety and combos. I grew up on the north shore of Mass. And was spoiled growing up in a huge clam/seafood town and now living here the pines satifies my cravings for fried seafood. I really like the tarter sauce that they make. The only couple things im not crazy about is that the platters do not come with the option of sides. just fries and slaw. i suggest onion rings also coukd b an option at no extra cost. They are delicious onion rings but too pricey to add to a platter or plate. Gets expensive. My only other little complaint… the chowder is good but what i do not like is the lid they put on it… why…because they fill it to the rim. wich causes it to spill everywhere! Just need to pay better attention to some detail. But overall… i like it!

After getting lost for hours hiking Pentuckaway(however you spell it), all I could think about was a milk shake and greasy cheeseburger. I came across Pine’s and decided to try it out. My haddock sandwich(instead of burger), fries and chocolate milkshake were delicious(the portions are HUGE). You could tell the seafood was fresh. The place was packed and our orders still came out very quickly. Very clean place as well. I really enjoyed it!

Very large portions! The fries were crispy, seafood chowder was delicious. Service was fast and friendly even at 6pm on a Friday. We had never been, and all our choices had options. Definitely a classic«clam» shack. I’ll have leftovers for days! I wish there was more room for larger parties!

I have to say the waitstaff is so nice. The décor is nice for the type of food they serve. Very clean inside. Also I would have to say the best seafood I have had in a longtime. Very convenient if you are coming off the highway and want a good meal. The fish taste so fresh and I love the fries. Also with there Award winning seafood chowder is incredible.

This place looks super cool(colorful, clean, and nautical). I loved the colorful outdoor seating options for guests and the very organized condiment section. I think maybe a new employee waited on me, as I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich and received a haddock sandwich(several dollars more). When I sent the sandwich back, twenty minutes later I received a fried chicken sandwich that I didn’t want, but at this point I didn’t have a choice. It was just okay. French fries were plentiful and delicious.

First time eating here after talking about checking it out for a long time. Good quality seafood, standard prices. Onion rings are great, whole clams are perfect(why anyone would order clam strips is beyond me!). We ordered a large whole clam plate and a large sea scallop plate to share, it was way too much food for the two of us to finish, well worth it. Will be going back for sure, I compare it to Markeys or Browns without having to drive to the beach. Bonus, all kinds of good ice cream for dessert if you leave room.

I found this place through a Living Social deal. Otherwise, I would never have occasion to pass it. It’s a great afternoon drive destination — a quaint little spot that probably hasn’t changed in years. We had a fried haddock sandwich and a 2-combo plate of fried scallops and whole clams. Both came with fries, the later also included cole slaw. A «small» side order of onion rings was outrageously huge and county-fair quality — piping hot, just enough coating — crispy and delicious. The seafood items were equally satisfying — ample portions, fresh and not at all greasy. Prices are on par with other similar restaurants, but at least you are getting a high-quality product. Unfortunately, I was too full for some of that yummy Gifford’s ice cream they sell here. I’d definitely go back.

Growing up eating at the pines will always be an awesome memory. They always had the best chicken fingers when I was a kid, and since my taste buds have grown up, the seafood there is really good too. Im a HUGE scallop fan, and I think theirs is pretty good considering they are no where by the beach. The only down side is that there really arent that much of a selection to choose from, from what I can remember when I was younger. The free«bday» menu should add a few more«adult» items… there mostly kid friendly plates and of course the prices are going to be on the higher side for a couple of reasons. 1– Its seafood. Seafood is always going to be on the expensive side 2– Since they are no where by the beach they are going to be more expensive than usual.

We went here specifically for fried clams on a Monday, because our favorite fried clams place isn’t open on Mondays. We split a Fried Clam Plate which came with both fries and coleslaw. This is an order at the window and wait for your number to be called kinda place. It wasn’t super busy and our order came out really quickly, a good sign because it means they fried their stuff at really high temperatures, which they did. The clams were lightly coated and fried so the coating was crisp and the clams soft, in other words just like they are supposed to be. The fries were really good. Thin, with a crispy outer and soft inside. The coleslaw was very good my Husband said, but since I hate coleslaw I can’t attest to it. The clams were very good, but IMO not the best as I found the coating to be missing something. This is a very casual place with formica tables and the required sea motif. It’s also good to note that they are open year round so we can indulge our love of fried clams during the months most clam places are closed.

Over priced and tiny portions. Food was mediocre, menu does not have much to choose. I would not go back to this place. too many other great places to eat in Raymond…

A very good fish house albeit a little on the pricey side, but hey you get what you pay for. This is one of those establishments where you place your order at the window and wait for your number to be called. The seafood is very good with sizable portions. Crispy and not overly greasy. They also have ice cream and is a good stop to make an ice cream run on the weekends with the kids.

After purchasing a Living Social bargain, we finally had time to head to Raymond. Classic New England Clam Shack where the chow-dah flows like wine and the wine… well doesn’t flow cause there is no alcohol served. Bummer I could have used a beer or three tonight. Order at the counter and wait for your number to be called. Not the busiest of nights but certainly worth the trip. We ordered the chow-dah, clam rolls, frappes, 2 kids meals and onion rings. Chow-dah. One word, butter. I could see the butter through the plastic toppers on the cups. Not too appetizing to look at but once you taste it, mmmmm. Whole steamer clams, small potato bits, FLAVOR and a richness which made you want the next bite. If the yellow of the butter could somehow be eliminated, it would be one of the best ever.(still is if you close your eyes). Clam rolls. Just the right amount, filling the grilled NE style hot dog bun and slightly overflowing. Nothing else… it just lets those fried whole bellies shine. Great with no tartar sauce or ketchup but add it if you need to. Crispy at first followed by the belly blast. Clam flavor but not overpowering. Oh god, I need to go back! Onion Rings. The small could feed an army. Since the clam roll didn’t come with fries, this addition was welcome. It was piled so high that it was bigger than any portion I’ve ever received at a State Fair. Same batter as the clams, just the right thickness of cut, crispy, salty, not even the faintest bit oily. Darn good rings. Try ‘em! Frappes were again, NE style. Thick, creamy and big. Good ice cream brand and was the topper to the meal. I needed to push the booth away in order to get up. Kids under 6 eat free with an adult meal(in house). Wicked good deal! Kids got Chicken Tenders which seemed whole breast cut. The fries were excellent. Stole a few from the kids to test them out. Long, crispy and not greasy. Overall, this place is worth the stop. 5 min away from the highway(exit 4) so its easy to pull into to/from the beach. ENJOY!

This place is totally under-rated. Best fried clams on the seacoast! The food here is great — tasty and reasonably priced. I gave it four stars because the inside isn’t fancy(but it is kid-friendly) and because I heard a manager/owner yelling at an employee in a way that I wouldn’t. They have fantastic baked fish options and offer rice for people trying to avoid friend food. My husband’s baked haddock was some of the best he’s ever tasted. They seem to do a brisk take-out service. I don’t believe they sell alcohol. Richardson’s ice cream is also available! A hidden gem!

Awesome chowder! They totally should have won Portsmouth Chowder Fest last week.
