Food was ok until we were on our way out and my husband spotted a cockroach pretending to be a hostess in the host stand and also continued to tell me how disgusting the carpets were and that everyone is standing around being lazy while it’s dirty as hell in there yeah I won’t be going back I just can’t trust a cockroach to seat me correctly

Writing a negative review for IHOP kind of breaks my heart. I came with a group to get breakfast, and everyone got their food before mine. I ordered egg whites scrambled… And apparently it was too hard to make? I don’t know. The waitress kept making excuses as to why my food was delayed, but only twice as I watched everyone eat and had no idea what was going on with my food. I’d probably never come back to this IHOP. I am very understanding of a busy kitchen, but the waitress never offered me a reason or apologized. A a lot of things for other people were also forgotten. So tragic. Boo to this IHOP.

This visit was more for my friends than me. I consider this food junk food so I can’t vouch for the quality and taste. The server was very patient with them(they have no manners) so he accommodated special requests and substitutions. Everyone cleaned Their plates so I’m inclined to say that they enjoyed their food.

Horrible service we waited for twenty minutes before we gave up and left. When I spoke to the manager to explain how unacceptable it was she yelled at me because I shouldn’t have gotten so mad.(her words) There were five other tables and six servers and we still got no service, I will not be going back to this location.

Over the past two years I’ve tried to eat here several times, each time being told it’s at least a 20 – 30 minute wait. My last attempt to have breakfast here, the hostess took my name and then stood there playing with her hair until she walked away. My boyfriend and I stood there confused, we didn’t assume we were going to be seated ahead of everyone else but she never gave us an estimated seating time or anything, just wrote our name and walked away. We left immediately. The food is descent, but the restaurant as a whole is filthy. The floors have food on them, the tables are not cleaned off, and I don’t even want to think about what the bathrooms look like. If so many people are complaining about this place, why is there always a wait and why has the Department of Food Safety not stepped in?

This will be my last time eating at this«restaurant» and I use that term loosely. I’m not even sure how this place is still operating. I honestly think the Health Department needs to stop by & do a random inspection. I’d hope that the employees have to be ServSafe certified. If they did indeed take the course, they surely learned nothing! I don’t see hairnets or hats being worn. There’s always someone outside smoking; you’re not supposed to be within so many feet of the door. They don’t care. I’m sure you’ve all seen the pictures of the bathroom here; their carpets are so disgusting. They need to be ripped up & thrown away. They’re located in Wyomissing but you’d think you were in downtown Reading. Your server is either a hood booger or a senior citizen; it’s very random. There’s a young manager who thinks it’s appropriate for her to wear a wife beater with a hideous arm tattoo that’s visible. Her lace front wig matches her attitude — hideous. Unless you enjoy getting food poisoning and/or diarrhea, I wouldn’t recommend coming to this hell hole.

Filthy– coffee mug and table was dirty. Cardboard holding the table straight. Omelette was salty and pancake dry. Due to the above I complain and only pay for the coffee and tax. Very disappointed-Service was horrible– girl spent 9 minutes to give me back change.

Filthy, filthy restaurant! Service is slow so there’s plenty of time to notice the great variety of dirtiness. Food tastes delicious if you still want to eat after looking down at the former carpet, now so caked with grime that it’s more like a solid surface. As for the bathrooms… just hold it. Or pee yourself, either is a better experience.

We are in the area only for the warhouse gym camp that was yesterday… check those guys out if you haven’t! ‘Twas a blasty blast. After being skipped over and waiting an extra 15 minutes, we are seated and drinking some bomb ass iced coffee. The food here never disappoints so I am writing my review before we get it. Shit just got real with the people next to us. A cockroach crawled out of the wall while they were eating. Barf.

This location is a disgrace. I came here one time, the«chefs» were not wearing gloves, the waitresses looked like they had thrown on their uniforms after a night at the club one even still had on her neon yellow bra under her white button down; Meanwhile my 5 year old son is in the booth with me. 20 minutes after being seated we still haden’t given a drink order only to find out our server went on break. The service was terrible our food was cold and when i called corporate to complain she said I would recieve a voucher in the mail. Months later she called to apologize saying she forgot to send my voucher and do I still want it.

If zero was an option that’s what I would’ve chose. My husband and I ordered there double dipped French toast breakfast with the eggs hashbrowns and choice of meat. For my daughter we got the kids breakfast with pancakes one piece of meat and one egg. It took about 25 minutes to get our food. The double dip French toast was very hard and cold in the middle for my husband and I. Both of us had sausage which was cold and pink in the middle. My husband had eggs over easy which were not even flipped and had slime on the top. I had scrambled eggs which were cold and robbery. Our hashbrowns were cold and undercooked. My daughters bacon was not even cooked. It’s still had some slime on it. Lisa all the food back and they brought us out new food again. Same thing. Cold undercooked and totally sloppy looking plates. To top it all off they gave my six-year-old daughter a piece of bacon that was absolutely Bert. It was so Krispy you could touch it and pieces would fall off. Nothing like saying a big FU to a six-year-old We paid for our coffee and left that shit hole. We will never ever go back. The IHOP in Reading Pennsylvania gives IHOP’s a bad reputation.

Horrible experience. I went here with my brother. He got country fried steak with a hair and running yet rubbery scrambled eggs. My breakfast sampler had over hard eggs that were rubbery also and my hash browns were burned. Everything was soaked in grease. The waitress, who was fairly attentive and handled the horrible situation the cooks put her in well, was the only positive thing. The other staff was loud and the cook was audibly rude when the waitress took back the hairy plate. The manager, who never even came to our table to apologize for the«meal», cut our bill in half but I still wasn’t happy. I felt sick after and won’t ever be returning.

My daughter had a training class in Wyomissing, and since I drove from Allentown to take her there, I had some time to kill to keep from making an extra trip back and forth. I wanted to get breakfast, and thought I would try iHop since it had been almost 30 years since the last time I was in one. Wrong choice. It was crowded and I was given a small table in the middle of the dining room. The waiter, while there right away, was ‘hovering’ and ‘kept wanting to take my plate’ asking ‘are you done yet’? I understand the need to ‘turn tables’ but a server should never RUSH a customer. I wanted to have a leisurely breakfast and read my paper(which, by the way, there were none to be had, either complimentary, or in a paper box by the door). On the recipet it shows that my order was taken at 9:34 and my credit card was processed with me out the door by 9:51. How leisurely would you say that was? I ordered a cup of coffee and was given a carafe and a cup… I drank one cup and he was ready to remove the cup from the table… I had to tell him I was refilling my cup, and not to take it. He also attempted to take the plate while I still was eating as well… again, ‘sorry, no, I’m not done’. This now brings me to the breakfast. I ordered the sampler, two eggs, two pancakes, two slices of bacon, two sausages and two pieces of ham… about the meat: It must have come from those ‘miniature Vietnamese pot bellied pigs’. Never have I seen such small items of all three, and the pancakes were what other restaurants refer to as ‘silver dollar’ sized. The meat was lukewarm at best, the potatoes where brown on the outside but cold on inside. The eggs and pancakes, while cooked, were just ‘meh’. I was charged approximately $ 15 for my breakfast, both my spouse and I can eat breakfast at the local diner for that amount. I opted for this restaurant(and I use the term loosely) over Wawa’s take out breakfast sandwiches and McDonalds, as fast food usually makes me sick. I should have gone to McDonalds, as this breakfast had the same effect on me as they do, and it would have been substantially cheaper. Now to the experience. There was a mother with three children in the restaurant as well. She sat in one booth, two of the children sat in another and a third child was in yet a third booth(now if you want to ‘turn tables’, wouldn’t it be in your best interest to have a family of four sit in ONE booth and not three?) and the children ran around and screamed the entire time. Now before I get slammed that ‘maybe’ one or more of the children had a disability, I have been around children with varying forms of disabilities, and not a one of the parents there turned a bilnd eye and deaf ear when there may have been a melt down, this was a rampant case of ‘affluenza’ as one of the little darlings walked over to my table, looked at my breakfast and went ‘ewwwwww, I don’t like that’. I ignored the child, then he goes ‘Mama, make her stop eating it, it makes me sick’(the only thing I thought might be *offensive* was my over easy eggs). Mama then looks at me and says ‘can your move your plate, my son doesn’t like looking at your breakfast’…REALLY. I’m like, if your child had stayed in the booth three booths away from me and not walked over to my table, he wouldn’t even know what I was eating!!! I reply, ‘you can’t be serious’…then she calls over the same hovering waiter and tells him to ‘MAKE’ me either get rid of my food or keep it from her son’s line of vision. The waiter turns and looks at me and gives me the ‘well, what are YOU gonna do’ look. I ignored both, got my check, finished my SECOND cup of bitter coffee and left. Hell will freeze before I set foot in that store again. It will be another 30 years before I would consider even setting foot back in ANYIHOP, never the less this one!

There was a 15 min wait for food which we didn’t mind at all but the manager(or what appeared to be the manager) seemed incredibly rushed & like he was rushing everything & everyone which does NOT guarantee good service. He a dark-skinned man in a nice, purple dress shirt which makes me assume he was the manager. Let me tell you speaking out of experience: if you rush your employees to do things, you will most likely NOT improve the quality of service because your employees probably can’t stand being rushed all the time & could take that out on the customers since they aren’t really allowed to retaliate towards their manager. So after 10 – 15 mins of waiting to get our table(which was fine, we didn’t mind the wait) the manager got us our drinks almost instantly. I wasn’t even given enough time to read the whole drink menu before he got us our drinks. And he went back and got them instantly. I mean that part is ok I guess. I guess I just like to enjoy having at least 5 mins of time to look over a menu before I order a drink. Since my boyfriend & I knew what we wanted, we were ready to order right after he brought us our drinks. He said«are you ready to order?» We said«yes» he said«ok let me get you a server.» He sent us a server right away & I honestly felt bad for the guy because it seemed like the manager rushed him when really we were fine with waiting a little bit. He took our food order & placed it. After that, we were sent a DIFFERENT server to wait on us throughout the rest of our time there which definitely tells me that the manager was rushing his staff. Our food seemed to take awhile but maybe that’s because they were all so fast to get us seated, drinks, & our order taken which is why it might have felt long. Even though our food came out a little slow, we were still very pleased with the quality of the food. The only complaint my boyfriend had was that his eggs didn’t seem very fresh. I highly believe their food quality had definitely improved since last time I went there. But the service was rushed which also kind of made us feel like they were rushing us to «keep the wait time down» at the front door. Would have given them 5⁄5 stars if the eggs were fresh and the staff wasn’t rushed.

DONOTGOHERE we found a hair in our cheese stick and told management. They took the cheese stick and we waited a half hour only for them to come out with one cheese stick for us.

The service was slow, no music, staff was standing around having loud conversation, I had to ask for utensils, my waiter didn’t seem happy to be there at all, I asked him for a cup of hot water he said«ok I’ll be right back» and came back in 10 with no water but coffee for someone else. I was served uncooked grits that were instant no even freshly cooked … There was more cheese on my plate than grits… I’ve had better experiences at IHOP

If it wouldn’t have been for the fact that we were hit with some kind of pungent odor upon walking in and were greeted by a less than enthusiastic greeter the experience wouldn’t have been terrible. Our server Sandra was awesome. She was very friendly and always smiled. The food wasn’t bad. Took a little long to get, but it was served warm at least. Not sure I would recommend using the bathrooms however.

We’ve been to this IHOP a few times. The first time was on Black Friday last year. It was our daughter’s idea to eat here that day. We kept trying to tell her that since it was Black Friday, the place would be crowded. «No it won’t», she said«because everybody will be busy shopping». So… we got here and it was… crowded. I bit my tongue and didn’t say«I told you so». LOL! There was no one manning the host station. It appeared that the cashier was expected to ring up sales and work at the host station. After waiting a while, our daughter took the bull by the horns. She went to the host station, grabbed the pen and asked the family ahead of us in line for their names and how many were in their party. After that she added their names, she put us on the list. —And I can’t believe that she did this! No one noticed or cared. Once we got seated, service was friendly and efficient. I tried their caramel hot chocolate with whipped cream — and it was delicious. It was so good that the next time we went I just had to have it. I’m hoping that it will be around again this year, as it is a seasonal beverage. Most of the time, service here runs smoothly. The only other issue we encountered happened the last time we were here, which was last month. We all ordered our food. Everybody got their food, except me. The server was apologetic and did check to see what was going on. By the time I got my food, everybody else had eaten. On the plus side, the server did talk to the manager and I wasn’t charged for the food. We’ll go back here again. Every time we’ve been here it has been clean and the food was decent and up to IHOP standards. However, we’ve only eaten breakfast here so I can’t speak to what the lunch and dinner menus are like.
