They wouldn’t let me bring in my Pet Flamingo. That made me really disappointed and sad :( Good bread, though! Good bread = 5 Stars

This is a cute restaurant with young waiters who are wonderfully upbeat. The portions are small and the sandwiches are a little low on meat. It’s a good establishment and others rave about it so it’s likely my own big-city experiences which affect this rating. Lots of potential here and I hope they continue to succeed.

I’m not sure how Isaac’s has 4 stars because their food is less than par. I’ve tried soups, sandwiches, salads and more — and nothing really ever was satisfying. They also use a lot of pre-cooked food instead of fresh, which probably explains a lot. Their entire menu is extremely overpriced and the service is meh. I’ve given it more than a few chances being that it is literally around the corner from my corporate office, but there are so many other better restaurants in the area to choose from.

Miss your old pita bread on my favorite sandwich. However, this location The Wyomissing location is by far the best I’ve been to in recent years. Keep up the good work! Also love that you make soups fresh! Not from prepackaging! Only would note that the chips are tough… wish you’d change to a different brand that isn’t as brittle. All in all– great food!

Haven’t been in a while but every time I go back I wonder that I’ve let so much time pass. This place is the yummiest for freshly made sandwiches and daily made soups. They have a great gumbo and a red pepper cheddar soup that is amazing too. The Goonie Bird is my favorite go-to lunch and I love the pickle dish appetizer you get while you wait for your meail. I recently took my mother here during Christmas shopping and she(being gluten-free) was so impressed with their GF flatbread. She said it’s the most fresh and really bread-like GF she has tasted in a while. She’s sold and so am I. There are so many sandwich options to choose from, even the pickiest or savviest eater will find something they love. I’ve always found the staff to be friendly and helpful. Oh, and don’t forget to sign up for their VIP loyalty club. It’s so simple; they use your phone number so there isn’t one more card to carry in your wallet.

The pepperjack tomato in a bread bowl had me wondering why I ever went to Panera down the street. The place is a little funky and the service is spotty but overall we have had more positive experiences than negative at this Isaacs. The food has always been of a better quality than surrounding lunchy places and as long as you order carefully and correctly the staff is pretty good with customizing orders. I’ve never had to wait for a table, or a refill or for anything really at this location. And they’re always quick to offer me dessert after my meal, though I still have yet to try any of their offerings. Ice tea is good, always fresh but I think it’s golden peaks or some brand and unfortunately not house brewed. We haven’t been there in a while but usually tend to eat there in November when they offer an interesting rendition of thanksgiving dinner for lunch. Also every time we eat there, it’s strangely empty, as though we just missed the lunch rush or something, so I can’t speak for the quality if and when it’s really busy. We still aren’t sure about the bird theme though, and the pickles are a huge turn off. Some people just really hate pickles!

Never been to an Isaac’s before, so took the chance and glad I did. Had some kinda cheese mushroom melt. I got it to go and came in a little blue lunch bag with chips and a pickle. Will be back. Very friendly fast service too.

I have been a loyalty member and loyal customer for years. My family and I have been eating at Isaac’s a couple of times a month for a very long time, but recently everything about it has gone downhill. Our last visit will be our last ever as they have increased the prices while decreasing the portions so much that my husband and I just paid $ 9 each for a sandwich so small it was completely gone in 4 bites. My 3 year old had more to eat than I did. So now after spend over $ 40 on dinner we are off to another restaurant to eat something.

I love Isaac’s! I have never had a bad meal at this place ever. The service is as good as the food. Waitstaff is always friendly and serve with a smile. I am a big fan of this place. One of the most important things I notice is the cleanliness. The staff is always doing something to ensure the place is clean.

Classic deli sandwiches with funky names. Food and service are always good, even if the prices are a little high.

So, we had been to the Isaac’s out in Strasburg years ago and overall it was a bad. Mediocre overpriced food coupled with inattentive crap service equaled an experience that I vowed never to repeat again. But, when people are hungry and you know that it’s a prime dinner time so that most normal choices are going to be crazy busy you need to go off the grid which in Wyomissing would be coming to this Isaac’s. The first thing that is noteworthy is that I feel it’s safe to say that coming here on a weekend should be a slam dunk in terms of getting seated right away. They’re located mostly around a lot of offices all of which are closed on the weekends which equals that by five o’clock everything with the exception of Isaac’s, a nail place and a cupcake place are also closed in the strip mall where the restaurant is located. Everything was decent in terms of being seated right away as the place was maybe half-full a little after five on a Saturday. No issues during our visit with plates being cleared or in the time it took for the food to hit the table. As for menu: it’s a bit bizarre, confusing and still overpriced. The kids’ menu even admitted by our server«S» is confusing and poorly laid out. The whole pick one selection for one price and pick two for another price is dumb and unnecessarily complicated. Also their idea of portion size is a bit off as well. Telling people that a single portion is for five and under is nothing more than a great way to try and get people to spend more money for a double portion when that is only going to equal a lot of food and a lot of money as six plus dollars for a few carrots and two Kraft Easy Mac packets is extortion. The adult meals were decent with the Cormorant and the Magpie. The prices for these are a bit more in line but even then over nine dollars for a little bit of chicken, spinach and bacon on a flatbread seems a bit much. The décor of the restaurant is flat out ugly as it looks like could have fit right into the same space in around 1988 with the bright pastels and kitschy décor. I was half expecting Crockett & Tubbs to walk in for their take out Cuban sandwiches. Clearly Issac’s has a following as the chain has been around for thirty plus years although I truly don’t understand the appeal. The food to me is nothing special, the décor is awful and the prices are very high for what you get. The best thing I can say for them is that they’re not bad. But at the same time they’re not good either.

Ok where have I been eating; not here! I cannot believe this great sandwich joint wasn’t on my radar. Thank goodness for Unilocal when looking for something different. Although it is a chain/franchise it’s great service, choices and atmosphere for a stop mall! Definitely on our local short list especially on a Sunday for lunch after church! You can’t beat the prices for table service.

Good homemade soups and nice variety of sandwiches. Have gluten free flat bread kids meal deal is amazing. For only &6,29 they can choose 2 kids entrees, a side, a drink & a dessert.

We have been to this particular Isaac’s a half dozen times or so in the last 3 years. My wife keeps getting coupons from work for donating blood. On this occasion though we had a small problem with my wife’s meal. In less than 30 seconds the manager was at our table fixing the issue! Or so we thought! Manager said he would take care of my wife’s meal and give her her next sandwich free. So when the bill came he actually only took care of her sandwich(plus the future freebie) The problem is we already had given our coupon for a free sandwich to our server. So now instead of us getting my cheaper sandwich free we got my wife’s more expensive(by $ 2.00) sandwich free. So all the manager did was give us a $ 2 discount on our meal. For having a HAIR on my wife’s plate! My wife has a mental list of the places we will no longer dine at for one reason or another. She was sooo close to adding this place, but I think I convinced her not to… the Pepperjack Tomato soup is too good to put this place on the list for a first time offense. I know most of you would be done with this place, it was an eyelash, on the side of the plate, not touching any food! Yes it’s gross! But I really like that soup! I had some parrot named sandwich. It was Corned Beef on Pumpernickel with slaw and red onion. I had swapped the Munster for swiss. It was really good. They also have great deli salads. We had the Almond Tortellini and the Sesame Asian Noodles with carrot and fresh cilantro. Both really good. My wife had the crab cake sandwich special which she made some changes to. She wanted the toppings on the pretzel sandwich but with french bread roll instead. Even though the issue on her plate changed the atmosphere during the meal, she ate the majority of her sandwich. Not finishing because she was full. I would still recommend this place. One infraction, even though it was gross, will not change my mind about this place. Would have been 5 stars if not for the issue we had!

Great sandwiches, and you can’t beat the«speckled(strawberry) lemonade»! Recommend getting the pretzel roll regardless of the sandwich you choose. There are gluten-free and vegetarian options, and you can choose a side salad, applesauce, or baby carrots instead of chips(baked chips are also available).

I have to agree with everything Unilocaler Greg has said about Isaacs. It’s a good, solid lunch– and it always goes down easily– yet I can’t get excited when it’s suggested as a meal detination. I can’t really say why. We generally visit Isaacs of Ephrata, but today we stopped in to celebrate Grandpa’s birthday, and this was the most convenient location. We did wait a few minutes for a table of 7, but considering it was Sunday at 12:45, I shouldn’t be surprised. I’ll give a a pass on the seating time. I’m not sure if they take reservations or not, but in retro, it would have helped. Everyone seemed to like the food ordered. I had the flaming buffalo chicken wrap, wife had a cheesesteak, and kids had various kids’ meals. It was all good… no complaints, as always. No bragging, either. I forget what the grandparents had, but everyone went away happy. Speed of service was good, and our waitress kept the drinks refilled and the checkups frequent. No complaints here. It is also appreciated that it is quite a kid-friendly establishment. Kids are offered a small bag of goldfish to hold them over, and crayons, fun placemats, and about 10 kids meals are offered on the menu. Plus, the live fish are always a hit. I just can’t figure why I can’t get more enthused about Isaacs. Maybe it’s familiarity, or just taking a good meal for granted. I guess it’s like a Honda; it just works well, is reliable, does it’s job well, and is utilitarian… but you don’t appreciate it until it finally lets you down. Its strength is its weakness. There’s a wonderful compliment in there somewhere, I believe…
