We all went in after a rehearsal for wedding and the staff was great. The wings which we all heard of before were just like everyone had told us. Best wings in the area. The waitress was great as well. We will return.

Great food and very accommodating staff. I have been there twice and both times we had great service. Atmosphere is good.

Had Dinner at the Peanut Bar last Saturday before attending the John Prine concert. I’ll get right to the point, Poor slow service with a negative attitude from the manager. The Burger was real good as were the fresh cut fries. Our young waitress was very nice and apologetic, however should it take 20 minutes for the first round???

By far one of the best experience I had besides the start of it. Let me explain we came asked if had a reservations we said no and got sat right away that was awesome cause the place was packed. Another plus was you can throw peanuts shells on the floor. The waitress came over and took our drink order great but then forgot about us for about a half hour that when the bartender Jessica took over and got it moving. Excellent personality great customer service. She made a possible bad experience to a great one. A plus was the food was great. Great selection of food and beer. If you skip this place your nuts. Go Jessica thanks for a great experience.

Great little restaurant. It’s in the older town of Reading so the outside was a little worrisome, but step inside and it was very cute. And bigger than you would think. I really liked the ceiling décor. My sister nd mother werent fans of the peanut shells on the floor(as they told me while putting shells off the table) but it’s part of the tradition of the place. The cheese balls were great! Different than regular Fried mozz, they had herbs mixed in them. The pretzel ice cream pie was good too, but the lava cake with Belgian chocolate was better!

As I write this review, I am still sitting waiting for food. It’s been almost an hour. My friend and I came here before a show at the arena. We ordered almost immediately upon being seated, we each ordered burgers and we have yet to get our food. 5:30 was around our order time, it’s 6:23 …still waiting. Our waitress(don’t recall her name) who was rather nice told us all the orders went in at once. I find that hard to believe considering when we arrived the place was almost empty. At this rate we are going to have to eat quick and dash– these burgers better be fantastic for this long of a wait. Very unhappy customers here… don’t see myself coming back here at all.

There is a reason this place shows up on the Best Wings in America year after year. Simply put, they are AMAZING!!! I wish I could tell you about the other food but I have never ordered anything besides them here. The service is really good and the drinks are made well too. While the place has the feel of a dive bar it is anything but that. One thing though, they throw peanut shells on the floor so if you have a peanut allergy avoid at all cost!

Great date night restaurant! Not too crowded or noisy. The wait staff was very friendly and helpful. Food was delicious, we had the soft shell crap and the chicken parm and we’re both very pleased and full. Wish the peanuts were salted, but they were still very good anyways! Will certainly be back!

Were at The Peanut Bar yesterday(7÷10÷15), I tried the Handmade cheese balls and all the reviews I read about them were right!!! As soon as you bite them the cheese just melt in your mouth, really good, try them! We also try an order of wings(buffalo) and they were also really good! We couldn’t leave without the Creamy crab dip. I had 3 mox drinks: Hurricane-lil strong for my taste, The Cherry Press-liked it, the word say it it taste like cherries, and I tried the Malibu D and it was kinda different than then first time i had it but i guess its because it was a different bartender, it was still good. I will add a picture of the cheese balls, so far hadn’t have something that im disappointed with.

Stopped by with a local friend who made the recommendation. Was definitely worth it. We split a side of crispy wings(compete with hot sauce and all), some cheese balls and a huge bowl of mussels in a hit marinara sauce. Was very good.

Dropped in for wing night. Still family owned, still free peanuts, still a.u.c.e. specials, 3 days a week. Wings were not how I remembered but the sauce’s were a great compliment to the wings. Lastly, can still order a beer on tap, in a 32 oz fishbowl.

Went here for dinner on a Saturday night. I really liked the ambience. Reminded me of an old style New York City bar and grill. I ordered the cheese balls appetizer. They were good but not great. My entrée was weiner schnitzel. It was a generous portion but I felt that the veal was deep fried a little too long.

Absolutely fantastic! A diamond in the heart of Reading. The food is great. We had the cheeseballs, yes they’re wonderful and unique. Then the Chesapeake burger topped with crabmeat and the flat iron steak sandwich on garlic bread. The deserts and beer list is excellent as well. The owner came over and chatted us up. He gave us a very warm feeling.

A truly unique experience dining here! A fun and interesting place with good food! Cheese balls are BANGIN !!! Never had better ones!!! My Old Bay burger topped with crabmeat was delicious. The fries are fresh – not frozen. Homemade desserts are great. Make sure to use the restaurant parking lot around the corner if you go. One small negative – bathrooms greatly needed attention.

Average over-priced food. WORSTOWNER!!! I went to dinner with my wife here again — we have been regular customers — and saw him blatantly mistreat his employees yet again! He talked very loudly and rudely to them in a condescending manner and of course turned around with a big smile to our table. There are mice and roaches. This would be a much better place if someone who understood restaurant management were in charge. As it stands, we won’t be returning unless this place is under new ownership. My wife and I both feel uncomfortable supporting a business that treats its employees like second class citizens. Of note, our servers, of which we’ve had many, have generally been great. Take your date night out and pre-theatre dining elsewhere.

Stopped in for just a quick drink and to enjoy the standard laid back vibe PB offer. Great peanuts and a decent tap selection. Bar tender is entertaining as always on a Sturday and it was a great break from the cold in January.

The Peanut Bar is a pretty neat place. The floor is covered with peanut shells but that is part of the experience! It has a loud atmosphere. I came in for dinner to watch a jazzfest show. It has decent viewing for live music. The food was decent, not memorable. This place is more for the experience. There is parking in the back.

There was a glorious period when every trip to the Peanut Bar was an experience in its own. Now, though, while the dishes remain inspired, the quality varies wildly visit to visit. One night the steak may be cooked perfectly, the next it could be bland and cooked a few temperatures off(asked for medium rare? You may get it medium well). The ambiance is still one of a kind, and the owner will be quick to mention this establishment was once featured on the Travel Channel. For locals, it’s worth stopping in every few months. For locals bringing guests from out of town, it’s still one of the first restaurants that comes to mind if you want to treat them to a memorable evening. Aside from the inconsistency of the quality of food, you’ll find standard pub fare along with regional classics. Fish and chips? Check. Meatloaf? Check. A delectable assortment of sandwiches, from the Reuben to the humble Club? Check. Some must-have treats are the signature cheese balls and wings. To this day, I still haven’t tasted a Buffalo sauce that can come close to what the Peanut Bar can offer. Mind you, they don’t have a WIDE variety of wing sauces, but the default sauce is one of a kind. Stop in for the gimmick of being able to toss peanut shells whimsically on the floor, stay for the cheese balls and wings. Bash the unpredictability of the entrees all you want, but trust me, you can’t go wrong with these two starters.
