Let me just say, I LOVE Wendy’s. My two boys and I go there often to snag a quick, cheap eat that is better quality than McD’s and lower calorie than most fast food joints. This particular Wendy’s is on the way to a local spot where I meet my parents to exchange the boys for a weekend at the grandparents, so we’ve hit it up a few times. I came here to grab lunch on the way home. As soon as I opened the door, I just smelled nastiness — it was a stale, musty, greasy smell. I told the boys to pick a table while I ordered the food. As I glanced quickly over the tables, I saw that each and every one of them had wet, swipey, shiney marks on them. So, I’m thinking, okay, they just got cleaned. When I came over to them with the food, my 5 year old said«Mommy, all these tables are greasy.» That’s when I realized they were NOT wet, but had a slimy residue on them — ALL the tables had this. I leaned down to smell, expecting to smell the familiar cocktail of cleaning chemicals… but instead was met with a stale, dirty smell. Almost like a wet, greasy rag had been used with no cleaner? So, since the weird smells had already killed my appetite, and the tables were covered with an unidentified substance, I grabbed the boys and we ate outside on a dirty, paint-peeling table by the drive through with a nice view of the dumpster. But, hey, at least we were outside with regular smells. When my 2 year old demanded to use the potty, I dragged him inside, only to find that the women’s room smelled like old, musty, nasty water. There was standing water in every corner, and 1 of the 2 stalls was a few centimeters thick with water on the floor. I tried my best, but when my little guy dropped his pants, they hit the water and immediately sopped up the nasty unidentified water stuff. I pulled off his pants and got out of there — just let him run around in his pull up. That water STANK. This place is a weird, smelly dump with issues that need resolved. I usually feel safe eating Wendy’s food, but if they take this little care with their restaurant, I just don’t know how much care they are taking with their food. We will not be back to this one!
