Lambs and Wolves

I have to say I was super excited when I went to Lambs and Wolves the first time for a makeup application and an updo for a wedding. Chelsea and Linda did a great job. I normally go into the city and moved back to Monmouth county so was really excited I may have found a place to keep me from trekking into the city, but I have to say I was a little disappointed after going back for a cut and waxing. I had a cut with Keelan and I have long layered hair so I asked for a shape up of my current layers and no mushroom hair… Well I feel like I have a mullet. There are way too many short layers and they really aren’t blended well. It almost looks like I have extensions in and my real hair is the top layer. Lauren was good with Brazilian waxing but I thought she made my eyebrows a little too thin even after I told her my horror stories. I usually go to arch brow bar for eyebrows and I will probably just go back there and back to the city. I will still come here for blowouts and makeup but after this experience I will stick with going to the city for cut and highlights. I have to say I was very disappointed that this wouldn’t be my new place bc I love the vibe and the people and the products.

Kara is fabulous! I have never walked out of a salon happier than the day she took control of my mane! Glen is an absolute doll! He came over several times and made sure I was taken care of, his place is AMAZING! Everyone always had a smile and were very charming and attentive. Oh and Kris I’m never relaxed but she gave me the best head and neck massage while washing my hair… oh my goodness girl! Place and beautiful and so are the people! Xoxo

Lambs and Wolves is excellent! I am tough to please so 5 stars truly says a lot. The first time I went I had an appointment booked with one specific stylist whom I requested but there was a miscommunication with the booking so they gave me another stylist, Chloe, instead. At first I was bummed but it was meant to be because I love her! She is so fun and has the coolest style.
What really impressed me was that the owner, Glen, took the time to come over and apologize for the mixup. I appreciate that so much.
The vibe is so great and has a Jekyll & Hyde feel. One side is for Lambs and the other for Wolves — it’s genius. They even have their own roast of coffee. Yum!

A bit expensive but the experience is worth it. Best haircut for men in the area. Also bring my oldest son b/​c everywhere else cuts a bowl and this place shapes.

This is the best salon in the Monmouth county area, and maybe NJ. My son and I love it here. We have the BEST stylist, Katie. She is so lovely and meticulous. I get color, highlights and cut, my son gets a haircut. My son who is 17 is extremely picky with his hair but absolutely loves the time and attention that Katie puts in to cutting his hair. Yes, it’s expensive especially if you have a senior/​master hairstylist but I have never regretted the money I spend. My color can last 6 weeks without any gray showing. The atmosphere is always happy and friendly. Someone always greets you by name at the door, they take your coat to hang up and get you coffee and water. By the way, their coffee is to die for and you can buy som to take him with you. The owner Glen Goldbaum is very sweet and friendly, and everyone seems to truly like each other. So very happy I found Lambs and Wolves!

First time at the salon and it was absolutely AMAZING! The vibes in there are so awesome and positive and everyone is so cool! Derrick did an absolutely perfect job on balayage with my hair and I could not be more obsessed with it! Christina did an amazing job on the style and made my hair look amazing! Definitely recommend coming here if you want your hair to look great! Derrick and Christina could not have been nicer and done a better job!

As Good As It Can Get!!! Lauren & Derrick!!!
Lauren is at The Den and is for sure the person you want doing your Brows, Body Waxing, Tinting and Skin Treatments. She has a million years of experience, a ton of training and never stops educating herself. I just entrust Lauren to guide me and analyze what is going on with my skin and let her provide the appropriate treatments. For brows… just forget everyone else and go fall in love with Lauren. No one is treated like you have cookie cutter brow’s. You are unique, your face is unique and your brows should reflect that. Something VERY important to me is cleanliness… there is NEVER a ‘double dipping’ issue with the wax! I’m a bit of a germaphobe and I can promise you that you’ll never worry with Lauren!
Derrick is on the Lambs and Wolves side of things (Hair)… I can not explain how many people I had gone to with the most simple request for my hair… «Make it very dark brown» … sounds simple enough, right? Well, one year later and a bunch of variations of dark, I met Derrick… He hit the color right on target! It was amazing. So I got comfortable with him and now we have started with some Balayage color where he hand paints on some caramel tones. I follow him on instagram and watch the gorgeous colors he turns out every day and I’m excited to evolve my color into something beachy by the beginning of summer. Derrick has a bright future ahead of him at Lambs & Wolves and I’m so excited that I can just settle into his chair for the ride. If you follow Lambs and Wolves and Den on Instagram you can really see a lot of what they are doing there.
They also have a great following for makeup services. Arielle is a doll, looks like a doll and does GORGEOUS makeup! Brides, parties, special occasion. Whatever.
Of course, none of this comes together without the super-​friendly staff! Everyone is so individualistic and creative! You will see every type of hair style, color and cut you could imagine!!! It’ s a lot of fun just watching the staff running around. The owner Glen is the real deal! He has grown a family of solid stylists and loyal friends. He is a hands-​on owner/​operator and has really taken the time to get to know his clients. I’ve even had the pleasure of attending some of his fun events on the after hours and boy oh boy does he have vision. Get to know everyone at Lambs and Wolves and The Den. I myself have been in the beauty industry for over 20 years and I’m a former Day Spa owner… I’ve seen it all and I promise you will love them.

First time going to Lambs and Wolves and I loved it! The atmosphere is unlike any other salon or spa I have been to before. The art work/​photography is amazing. And the artists are worth it! I went to Lauren for my eye brows because, well she is the BEST! Lauren listens to you and really works with you. She will take the time to look at your brows, she never rushes this. I trust her completely. I always feel like a new woman after seeing Lauren and when I heard she was now working here — I’ll never go anywhere else for my eye brows. I highly recommend Lauren!
Also, I was greeted by Marilyn and Arielle who were incredibly professional and very kind. I’ll definitely return for hair services but I really do recommend Lauren for your waxing needs!

I just got my hair cut for the first time by Chloe at Lambs and Wolves and I have to say– this is by far the best haircut I’ve ever had in my life. She’s an intuitive hair artist who was able to re-​create the cut I showed her in the pictures I brought in, but tailored it to fit the shape of my face. It came out looking better than the pictures, it has so much movement and texture, and it’s super easy to style. Chloe spent time showing me how to re-​create the style and didn’t try to push products on me. If you’re looking for a salon that keeps with the trends and where the people are down to earth… give this place a try!

I can’t believe I haven’t written a review yet. This is my go-​to hair salon, I have actually used several of their artists, MaryAnn, Brie, Kara, Candace, and others have either washed, dried, or assisted in some capacity. Every time I am new woman! I can go any cut and color and they’ll be ready, and my stylist really cuts any hair style I want to fit my face.
I couldn’t think of any other place to get ready for my wedding day. I had 9 bridesmaids, mother of bride and of groom, and myself. We had the whole Makeup building, and several of the stylists were working on us all at once. Heather arranged it beautifully and provided Champagne and Orange juice for mimosas. There was even one bridesmaid who didn’t like her hair, they pulled her aside and redid it beautifully. The atmosphere came off so great in our video.
My trials were extra accommodating as well. If I was late, they did what they could to make it work.
I even had my eyebrows done here for a while, and I must say I felt so much younger and prettier than going just anywhere to get that done.
I am really surprised that some people had bad experience with color, and I wonder if they had damaged the hair before or after the salon. I have been drastically changing my hair color for years, and it has never been healthier and better than when I started letting these people color it. Their products are very gentle, but effective. And of course everyone here is not only talented, but so friendly and work so hard to make your experience and style perfect.

What a great salon! This was my first time at Lambs & Wolves and I’ll definitely be back! Katie gave me a great haircut and was a pleasure to work with.

I cannot say enough great things about Katie! She knew exactly what I wanted — and I even didn’t know exactly what I wanted! She did hand painted balayage and a cut with long layers for my (not easily trimmed) curly hair. I have to admit I was worried because I haven’t had any color in my hair for 10 years but now I wish I did it sooner! The color is so natural and pretty. So glad I found her and am absolutely in LOVE with my hair! Thanks, Katie!

I have been going to the city for years to have my color done, but Derick at Lambs and Wolves was recommended to me by several people whose color I really liked. I tried him out and the depth of my color with subtle highlights was just wonderful. I have never seen my hair look this good or received so many compliments on my hair. Derick is a gem. He listens to what you want, provides suggestions when you are not sure what you want and has a warm and welcoming demeanor. I highly recommend Derick for color at Lambs and Wolves.

I called Lambs and Wolves for a last minute hair and makeup appointment before a wedding this past weekend, and they didn’t have availability to do both during the time I needed. However, in the end they managed to squeeze me in! Everyone there is super nice and VERY talented. My makeup came out great — not overdone, natural yet beautiful. And my hair was a messy yet done updo that looked great! I got compliments on both and was never expecting to get such great results from a last minute random (to me because I’m not from the area) appointment! I wish they were where I live in Boston!

Brought my 3 year old in for a new style. Candice did an AMAZING job! For the first time he sat in the chair by himself, followed instructions & was perfectly relaxed. I can’t believe how great he looks. My wife also had her hair done the same day. Her «stylist» Brianna also did an AMAZING job. We have been to many highly recommended salons in NJ. My wife has been told that the style she wanted won’t work with her hair and that the outcome is the best they can do. Obviously these other stylist have never been to «Lambs & Wolves!» Needless to say that she finally has the hair style that she has always wanted & she couldn’t be happier. We now have a new salon… I’m next & I am looking forward to it.

Being a California girl, this place gave me a West-​Coast vibe and I loved it! I was taken aback and in awe of everything about this place, from the art, to the models on the walls. I was greeted with kind faces and smiles, and even got the chance to chat with the owner (who was awesome).
I brought my 4 year old son in for a hair cut and Jill did a spectacular job! I am probably more picky than a mom should be about my son’s hair, but I could tell she knew what she was doing. I love his cut, and next week I have an appointment for myself!
Just a note: I witnessed another woman in the room get her haircut and I loved it; it was fun and fresh. This led me to want my own haircut.

Let me preface this review by saying that I am a tough client when it comes to hair! I am very particular and I like my hair a certain way.
This was my first time at Lambs & Wolves and I saw Keelin for a cut and single process color. She is the first hair stylist ever who gave me exactly what I asked for! I walked out of the salon looking and feeling amazing. Plus, she is knowledgeable about all the types of products and will recommend products to you, but won’t push them on you like other salons do.
The entire staff at Lambs & Wolves is also great. They are all so kind and they treat you like a queen from thr moment you walk in to the moment you leave.
Definitely my new go-​to salon!

Absolutely loved the service! Ambience is friendly either lamb or wolf. Very creative the way they set it up. Sit there long enough and you’ll want more done.
Kara is my hairdresser, she is very professional. Her training is up to date and will provide the best care and treatment for your hair or scalp.
It is a bit pricey, but in regards to the location, products, and service… its worth it!
Im all about organics and paraben free products, this place suits me in that regard.
