Because there are no reviews of the Brazilian blowout service, I wanted to add my review. The staff was nice. Service was supposed to take 2.5 hours but only took 1.5. I was nervous about this, but assumed my hairdresser was just quick. I waited the 24 hours after the service before washing my hair, and while the stylist successfully applied the formula to my roots to eliminate frizz, I am very unhappy with the results on the body of my hair. It actually seems mostly untouched, so the texture of the roots seems very different than the texture of the body. I have had the service done before at different salons and have been happy with all of my previous experiences, but this one leaves a lot to be desired. Yes there’s a groupon, but if you only perform ½ the service, than I’d rather pay full price elsewhere.

Came here because I needed a quick blowout after work and before I was going out. It was my birthday and I was going to the city so I wanted my hair to look great. Highly disappointed. The only good thing was the beautiful lobby. Other than that — nothing. My hair was flat and straight by the time I got home and went out — I could have just done that myself. Obviously I wasn’t gonna tell her how much I hated it when she asked me and make her wash and blow dry my hair again, nor did I even have time for that. I used a groupon and contacted groupon about my horrible experience and thankfully was issued a refund however wanted to review to let everyone else know to NOT waste the $ 45 and go to a regular salon where the girls know what they’re doing. Also what I found really strange and uncomfortable was I was the only person in the salon at that time.

Awful. The whole experience was irritating. My hair doesn’t look good. The staff looked bored as they stood there twirling their own hair and playing on their phones — barely said hello. The person at the desk never smiled and barely spoke as we exchanged payment, etc. The young girl blowing out my hair shook, tugged and pulled my hair the whole time. It seemed it was her first time with a hair dryer. I’m certain there is still shampoo and conditioner in my hair. She never even looked me in the eyes or in the face, so no wonder she had no idea how to style my hair. Just to top it off, I asked for tissues as I was sneezing constantly and she said«we don’t have any». And when she went to get me toilet paper instead, brought me back 5 squares. LOL. Needless to say, I will never return. And I recommend you stick with your current salon and just ask for a blow out when you need one.

DONOTWASTEYOURTIMEORMONEY. I made an appointment for hair and make-up for my sisters wedding. I wanted a side french braid with a bun. The girl tried to braid my hair 3 times until I told her to forget it, just curl it, showing her a photo of the curls they had in the salon. She starts curling the hair up my head, as opposed to long vertical curls. Finishes and I’m like this looks nothing like the photo. Another girl comes to try and curl my hair, they don’t have a wand only a huge curling iron and my hair is only shoulder length. Needless to say, it was garbage, my hair was straight in about an hour. I ended up braiding it myself. As the maid of honor, I was pissed. One of the bridesmaids hair was so bad we had to take it out and re do it at home. The make-up girl was good, but she packed up a few of my own makeup items with her own kit which I didn’t realize until I left. I am so update that I wasted $ 85, and for some reason gave them a tip.

While the space is beautiful(lounge is lovely and actual blow dry area is pretty), the services and stylists are extremely below average. I went in and asked for my hair to be curly and my hair is currently pin straight. Not even worth getting into it with the girl because she said 1 word to me the entire time I was there: hi. Extremely unfriendly and rude. Anytime my friend tried to talk to her she seemed annoyed that she was trying to engage in conversation. There are also no mirrors in front of you so you can’t see what they’re doing/correct them. I do not recommend this place to anyone. I am going home and redoing my hair.

I would agree with Emma L. The place is beautiful. I was so excited when I first arrived, but the makeup artist was so/so and the hair stylists didn’t really seem like they knew what they were doing.

I came here with my mom, my maid of honor, and my(future at the time) mother-in-law to have our hair and make-up done for my wedding. Scheduling the appointments was difficult; we did have a lot of changes in the number of people coming, my aunt and cousins ended up canceling in favor of going somewhere cheaper, but onedrybar’s computer system is apparently either ancient or glitchy as anything. Every time we’d go(in person) to make a change, they’d have to write it down manually and then put it into the system later, which caused mix-ups that almost ended costing my mother a few hundred dollars until we disputed it. We were lucky in that case. The staff is very friendly, but I can’t say I was pleased with the experience. I did not go for a trial run because I didn’t want to have to pay full price to have the same hair and make-up done twice. The girl who did my hair went off of a photo I supplied; I wouldn’t say it was an exact replica in the front(too flat), but the back style was very well done. However, my make-up experience was very, very nerve-wracking. The manager seemed to have to tell the girl to come do my makeup a few times and when she showed up she asked what was wrong with my hair and why I wanted to change it… I had to tell her that she was there to do my make-up. I supplied a photo once again for my make-up and when the girl who was working on me asked me to check to see if I liked what she’d done for one eye I was shocked — she gave me what looked like a black eye. I asked that she drastically reduce the amount of eye shadow she was using, and my mother had to come over to supervise because it was still far too dark after multiple attempts(she knew this was for my wedding). Finally, we were able to figure it out and get to a reasonable make-up look for me. Overall, I would not return here. Onedrybar can be expensive on occasion in my opinion, they seem to charge you for every swipe of mascara and lip gloss they put on. Maybe they’re better for blow-outs(my mom had her hair down and she was happy with it), but the entire experience of getting ready here for my wedding was more stressful than I would have hoped in the hours before the ceremony.

Worst customer service, they screwed up my appointment that I waited 2 weeks for. The girls there are inexperienced and incompetent. After acting aloof and wasting half of my Sunday morning, they said they would refund on my 3-pack since I didn’t think I ever wanted to step foot in there ever again nor give them my business… then they couldn’t figure out how to use the computer so I had to wait for my refund. then they said they can’t give me a refund, days later. SO I never got my money back. Since I’m not going back there, they have my money and refused to give it back. HORRIBLECUSTOMERSERVICE.

Booked an appointment for my friend and I before we went out for her birthday. It was fun! The place is beautiful. Great décor and extremely clean. They recommended I didn’t get washed because my hair doesn’t hold a curl well and it will help. I have to say at first I doubted them but they were right my hair stayed all night! Initially I wasn’t thrilled with the first try of my bangs but I asked them to fix it and they did. I loved my hair that night. Can’t wait to go back! My friends hair came out just as good.

Had a great experience at the Glam Bar today. I am a hair styist in North NJ but just moved to Red Bank and wanted a local place for a blowout. I called at 1 and got an appointment for 1:30. I was so happy they had time for me. KRISTIN took care of me and was more than plesant and did a great job with my blowout. Exactly what I asked for and I was in and out in under an hour. This is sure to me my new local stop for a blow out.

I booked an appointment for a blow out on a whim the day of an event and was pleased with the experience. I hung out for a few minutes in their Jonathan Adler-furnished lounge and was quickly moved to another room for shampooing. In the stylist’s chair, I requested the signature glam blow out(straight, smooth, and a reasonable amount of volume) and got exactly what I asked for. The entire process took a little less than an hour, but more than 45 minutes referenced in the confirmation email. The staff was very friendly and I will definitely go back again. I can’t comment on any services other than a blow out. Note: 1) I wasn’t paying enough attention to notice which products were used on me, but the displays had a mix of high and low(L’Oreal and Blow). Nothing overly fancy. 2) The Jonathan Adler lounge featured candles and other home furnishings available for purchase, but I did not feel any pressure to have a look or buy anything. 3) The lounge and shampoo room are up a flight of stairs. I didn’t notice if they had any wheelchair friendly options so that might be something to keep in mind. 4) There were several TVs in the styling area playing music videos along with music from a sound system. I wished the TVs were playing movies with the captions on for additional entertainment.

I am very particular about my hair because it’s very thick and heavy When I was told they would wash it for me I was a little skeptical and thought my hair was not going to come out like I wanted it to. My hair stylist Anna was friendly a little quiet and young. But let me tell you that my hair came out amazing! I received so many compliments through out the night and it even stayed the next day. I’m so happy I was recommended to the glam bar and if I ever return to Red Bank I will definitely go back for another style! For anyone who is wondering Ana curled my hair and it looked perfect for the beach wedding!

Emma must have been to a different place because my experience was TOTALLY not the same… I live in Brick and had a party in Redbank that evening so I wanted a fresh blow out right before and make up refresher as I was coming from work… OMG! I love this place, SAVEDME! They were friendly and took me quickly, I was scared I would come out looking like a bad Jersey Shore episode but It looked great, She followed my instructions and the blow out lasted through an evening of dancing and sweat… I did not get a chance to meet the owner who I have heard of(in a mag) and hence I went in but I will be back… Ladies ESPECIALLY if you live close by… An inexpensive blowout and makeup refresher??? No Brainer! Thanks again, I am sure when I went in there in a tizzy rushing to get out as I was going to be late I frazzled them with my anxious and slightly rude behavior but I hope they will be happy to see me again soon!

I was super excited to learn about a blow out bar in the Monmouth County area because I’d only heard of such places being in the city. Aesthetically, this salon is amazing; it’s beautiful and trendy. This place is brand new, the staff is friendly and enthusiastic. The price for a blow out($ 40 regardless of length) is absolutely reasonable for such a service in this area. And now for the downfalls: I’m not sure how experienced the staff actually is. The woman who did my hair(who, to her credit, was very friendly and pleasant) struck me as someone who had little to no experience doing hair. Her nails were super long, making the shampooing kind of unpleasant and she had difficulty getting through my hair with her hands because of them. She was very rough brushing out my hair and burned my scalp with the hair dryer multiple times. Note: I am by no means tender-headed. By the end of my visit there, I watched over 6 women, including myself, walk out with the exact same blow out style yet the salon boasts a good selection of different stylings. It also took almost 2 hours for her to finish my hair. Granted, I had a few clip in extensions(which she placed terribly and I had to redo before I went to my event) but I’ve gotten cuts and blowouts in less time. Overall, this place is a great idea. I think the staff needs some seasoning in order to stay afloat in this area, however. Also, they use«Big Sexy» products, which you can get at a drug store, but perhaps that helps keeps the costs down. I personally prefer higher end products when paying for a service that I can do myself. Also, they push product purchase, but not salon products, random candles and items they have in their«lounge.» No thanks. I’m here for a blow out, not a candle. I want this place to work because I’m craving a place to get services for special events but I won’t return for a long time. Give those stylists some time to get notches on their belts.
