This is a day spa that originated in Colorado and has recently been established here in Red Bank, NJ. The spa is located in an old home that has been renovated. The home and interior work that has been done to it is beautiful. I received a full day spa experience for my birthday. I arrived at 11am, was greeted warmly and immediately offered something to drink. I was escorted up the stairs to a bathroom where I was instructed to put on a robe and slippers. I began my day with a chocolate wrap, proceeded by a mini facial, I then had an organic lunch provided by Whole Foods and was offered a nice pinot noir, however it was refrigerated(I’m a bit of a wine snob). The second half of the day consisted of a relaxation massage, followed by a spa manicure and pedicure. The day concluded at 5pm. I have been to many day spas in regions such as NYC, Hawaii, Napa, and Austin. I truly did enjoy my experience at this spa, however I am critical of a few things. For one, because this spa is in an old home, there is only one bathroom… which means, after your wrap you need to use the bathroom everyone else uses, there was no shower curtain on the huge soaking tub. I had to shuffle my belongings from room to room, which I found a bit tedious. My lunch was nice, however I ate it in one of the treatment rooms, and one of my choices should have been heated up prior to being eaten. The polish used for the mani pedi is touted as being some«organic» «amazing» polish, once I got home I noticed that the polish had bubbled terribly and 2 hours after it was applied I was able to push the polish off of my nail. As far as the services, the wrap and facial were amazing. Julia is the one to see, and I would go back to have her work on me again. I have never received a facial, but I thought she did a great job. I received my massage from Annie, and I must say it was one of the worst massages I’ve ever received. I specifically told her to work on my lower half and she didn’t listen. She bangs and drops your limbs, which I feel breaks the rhythm of a massage. She did do a nice job on my scalp. All in all it was a satisfying experience. I would have liked a bit more privacy and a more skilled massage, but I will return for a facial or wrap in the future.
