My boyfriend and i had valentines dinner at the melting pot. I was pretty disappointed with the overall experience. We sat in lovers lane, which I don’t think it’s anything to rave about. It was extremely hot and uncomfortable. A mixture of the heat and the steam from the pot, it wasn’t a good combo. The cheese was good, salad was good, dinner and dessert were ok. We ordered a bottle of wine that wasn’t the best. For $ 300 we should have stuck to our favorite place, Ruth steak house. Save your money and go somewhere else.

We came in later in the night, as usual we couldn’t get out the door at a decent hour, so we walk in about 1 hour before they close and we were nervous… the first server they asked if she wanted our table actually said no, and we were happy that she did because we got our awesome server Kristin! She was GREAT! She suggested some great options for us and they were absolutely delicious. She was funny and made the experience really great for us, we even told her we would be back just for her. The food really was great, we had the spinach and artichoke fondue, I can’t remember which salads but they were great, we each a sampler type thing with chicken, filet, shrimp. so much food to remember. I definitely recommend coming here its a beautiful place and with great food.

I went on a Monday night, and we were seated immediately and we’re one of 3 tables. Our server was Christina who was absolutely a doll. She took our drink orders right away, and when she brought the drinks back, she automatically brought water. I hate having to always ask for something basic. I believe water should always be available. Moving on, we ordered our cheese with a slight alteration, not an issue. We ordered our meals, no problems. Dear, fabulous. We didn’t have long waits inbetween our courses. I’ve been to other Melting Pots and have always enjoyed it. The only negative I have for this company as a whole is the pricing. Way too expensive. That’s why I keep my visits sparse. It’s a fun experience every few years, but for the price, well, I could have a second car payment or a plane ticket to Aruba or something.

Don’t go. Very gross. EXTREMELY expensive. Its glorified queso dip. For appy, got the loaded potatoe cheese dip. Not bad, but not great. Our party was that of 3 ppl. So we had to pay a price tag of $ 30 just for a single pot of cheese dip and pieces of bread so we can all share. There after we ordered 2 whiskey pork entrees and one ravioli entre with the recommended bouillon to cook our food in.(There are no sides that accompany the entrees other some store quality dipping sauces) It’s a pot of seasoned water to cook our marinated pork and ravioli in. So we were basically boiling our meat and ravioli all together. It was terrible. All of that with no sides provided ran us about $ 135. We never got to the dessert in fear of how bad it was gonna be and how bad the place ripped us off. Anyhow, hope this review helps in sending ones hard earned money else where. Service was good though.

For the price you pay for dinner, you will leave hungry. Come here for dessert only, they give you a decent assortment of dippers. Don’t come here after 545p or you wont find any parking. Staff was very friendly!

Everything about this trendy restaurant was terrific. The ambience, the food, excellent parking and it was easy to get to from Staten Island. This is not just a place to «eat». It’s a completely different eating experience. This was wonderful and different. We had a good time and lotsa laughs. It’s not cheap. Go here for a special date or a special occasion. I suggest the 4 course meal that includes everything. You have a very wide selection of entrees. The 4 course meal is $ 42.00 per person. It includes your choice of 2 fondue cheese dipping pots, bread, appetizers, salad, entrée and dessert to die for. As for alcohol I’d suggest the martinis, the thirsty thistle, or the delicious ying yang cocktail. They were all made to perfection.

A friend and I stopped in for a dessert cocktail last night. The bar was completely empty, for a Saturday night at 9pm, that was a little surprising. I thought there might be some other people mingling around. The bartender greeted us and it took us a whole two minutes to decide on the Yin and Yang Martinis. I’ve had one the last time I had come in for dinner. After 30 or so minutes, we decided it was time for round #2 and got two more! Keep in mind, these drinks are dangerously delicious and filling(and can add up at approximately $ 12 a piece)! No chocolate fondue needed. The atmosphere last night was fairly quiet, with a few other patrons nearby but the noise was not interfering with our own conversation at the bar. Overall it was a pretty good experience, and I would most likely return for another martini.

Okay food. Bad service. Charged me extra for returned meat and initially refused to remove the charge.

Brought my mother to The Melting Pot for a fun birthday dinner which turned out to be the worst dining experience of my life to this date! The service was slow, they didn’t explain to us that our entrees would come out uncooked, paid $ 25 for 5 tiny pieces of beef that I had to boil in old bay seasoned water… On top of everything I snuck a cake in to be presented to my mother. Not only did they forget to bring it out, but when they did it was still in the box and uncandled O and they added an automatic 20% gratuity to our tab. Now I know why we were the only customers on a Friday night. Never again.

This place it amazing! Many different fondue options and I highly recommend this establishment. The service was stellar and the waiters made the cheese fondue very well. The atmosphere was quite dark and pretty pricey the only downsides in my opinion. 4 Stars keep up the good work!

We went here for a birthday. Drinks were awesome! Waitress was attentive. Loved the cheese, salad, and dessert! It was price but what do you expect? Thought it was fun and different ! Main course was good but since you cook it yourself I wasn’t sure if I was undercooking it or over cooking it. Too much to think about when your drinking. But had good time!

Service was fine, polite & friendly. Overpriced. I’m just not a big fan of the whole fondue concept, Cheese, chocolate, or main course… it’s just not an enjoyable experience for me. Came here with a family a few weeks ago to celebrate January birthdays… one of them likes fondue a lot. So was willing to give it another shot… but *meh* Not my cup of tea, and the food wasn’t anything spectacular either.

If you are looking to pay a ton of money for a tiny amount of food, this may be your place. Went with 3 friends Sat night. The portions are so small it is ridiculous for the amount they charge you. When our main meals came out they gave us a tiny little bowl with half a red potato cut into 4 pieces, two broccoli spears, and some large ugly mushroom. That was our SIDE dish for FOUR people. It’s like you have to fight for the food! The cheese dip comes with another small bowl of stale bread pieces, and 4 tiny pieces of raw veggies. I ordered the steak trio and it was covered in so much pepper and seasonings, I was unable to eat it. The $ 8.00 salad was served on a small bread plate that one would use to butter their bread on. Is lettuce that expensive? Staff was friendly, waitress was very good. Too bad their food quality and quantity are a scam. To give you an idea, it came to $ 200 for the four of us, and we all went home hungry with empty pockets. Never again!

So you may not know this, but the Melting Pot in Red Bank was the first one in NJ. I discovered this chain on spring break one year and was eager to recreate the memories at home and this Melting Pot was the only one around. Since then, other locations have popped up in NJ including locations like Somerville that are technically closer to me. The thing about Melting Pot is that the food is almost always consistent. After probably 30+ visits in all different locations, this seems to be a universal fact. However, what makes or breaks your meal is your server. The appeal of this location is that it has the most consistently well-trained staff that make the dining experience pleasurable. I have had bad experiences at other locations constantly with the staff forgetting to bring certain things, or messing up the ingredients and nothing is more infuriating than paying for a high priced meal that was not up to standard. Therefore, I now only drive to this location in NJ(the one in AC is also good). Food wise, like I said, it is similar to any other Melting Pot. The vegetables are always fresh and the cheese is always of high quality and dining utensils have always been clean. I do highly recommend the Fiesta Cheese Fondue that is not on the menu. Apparently it is a customer favorite but an optional menu choice that this location’s manager did not place on the menu. Luckily, they have all the ingredients and can easily make it. It is expensive to cook your own meal, but if you are into Fondue, then this location of the Melting Pot should be a good experience for you.

I’m a fan of this place. First brace yourself, it’s expensive for a dinner especially if you get drinks. If you’re going to whine it’s too expensive and the price ruins it for you then don’t go. Having said that you’re paying for the experience not to mention you get a lot of food. Now it’s odd to rate this place based on food since you’re sort of cooking it yourself but it’s fresh and all the ingredients they give you to use are delicious. The entrée isn’t going to be great though because you’re boiling your food, boiled food can only taste so good. This is definitely a great place to go for something different but once you’ve experienced it it’s not that great anymore. Also give yourself a lot of time, you will be there for awhile.

I’ve been here twice thus far. Once for a girls night and once just this weekend for a night out with my husband. The first time with the girls it was a fun experience but while everything else was fantastic, I wasnt crazy about the dinner portion of the meal. The flavors were off. However when I went with my husband I paid a little more attention to what meat I ordered paired with what cooking pot. This time it was sooo much better! Every thing else is amazing also, the cheese, the house salad, the dessert! Yum !! Cant wait to go back! Both times ive been here our server has been sopo helpful and knowledgeable on the menu. They were both also very sweet and a pleasure to talk with.

How are people writing negative reviews?! I eat here at least once a month and have been for probably 7 years. The service and food is incredible. Yes the portions have been cut down slightly, but due to inflation, the price of most food has gone up. It’s a business, when the price goes up, you have to make changes. The portions are still a perfect size! Anyone who has run out of chocolate or cheese fondue before the dippers must be pouring it on top with a spoon. For those who Unilocal a business before they make the trip, take it from me and dine here. You are guaranteed a great experience!

I’ve been to many difference melting pots in several different cities. Every one has a different vibe. Red bank is no exception. I love the exposed brick walls & the cozy tables. You can have a normal volume conversation. I love the menu now. The fact that I can get a steak plate & my husband can have his seafood fetish satisfied is great. Granted it’s expensive, but it’s worth every penny. Sometimes we go just for cheese & chocolate. The green goddess is awesome & I put that on everything.

The food selection is good at the Melting Pot, and the kids menu is a very reasonable for what they get. I know it is supposed to be an experience but it takes so long to eat at this place — every single time we go it’s almost a two-hour event. Drinks are good but no beers on tap — not paying $ 6+ for a bottle of beer. Recommend the filet, chicken, or the shrimp. The duck and the pork are usually not that great.1
