Well. My wife actually found this place on Unilocal! What? Huh? Without an account, she has always been completely uninterested. Never, ever… I think some random Google search led her to Unilocal.Proves it’s a great tool for all! Anyway… We arrive to be created by a gracious but very rushed greeter/server/cashier. She was very nice but you could tell she was feeling the stress. She sat us(6) and took our drink order. By that time she had 5 tables, a group leaving, and another family of 5 waiting to be sat. It took a bit to get drinks but when they came, they came with a little something extra. FREEHUSHPUPPIES! Not little crappy ones either… Made from white corn meal, they were hot and crispy, yet fluffy on the inside and full of sweet onions. Phenomenal! I’m in love! Food took a pretty good while to arrive but was way above average for old country style food. The half rack of ribs($ 12) was huge! It came with two veggies and toast. Chicken tenders($ 9) were fresh and hand breaded. Fries were fresh cut and prepared very well. Mac and Cheese was very good, topped with fresh gooey cheese! Fresh baked in a little dish. The catfish po’ boy($ 7) was presented with fresh home grown tomatoes with onions, pickles, and lettuce on a nice crusty roll. Nailed it. My catfish(two piece $ 9) with two sides was some of the best I’ve EVER had. I was skeptical when it arrived because it wasn’t the most appealing looking catfish I’ve had, but I was totally blown away by the quality, seasoning, breading, taste, texture, everything! Not even the slightest hint of lake or fishy taste! All in all, it’s a great place. We were traveling and had a 3.5 hour drive and it took right an hour plus to get in and out due to sweet little busy server doing so much. A faster visit or more time on my part was the only thing that I can really say took away from my visit being 5 stars.

Great service. Complimentary hush puppies and refills. They are fantastic with big chunks of onion in them. Good tartar sauce — a tad soupy which is how I prefer it. Fish was hot, fresh, battered well, and not fishy. Onion rings had a homemade beer batter with a fairly strong taste of beer — a good thing. Slaw reminded me of that from KFC, but with a bit more vinegar. Very tasty. Wifey had a homemade, fried apple pie with ice cream. Forced myself to take a bite or two. I ended up with dessert envy. Good stuff! Attentive, friendly service. This was an excellent experience. Cleaned my plate and will return.

I’ve wanted to try Clancy’s for awhile now and a couple of weeks ago we were able to do it. It is a nice little restaurant right off the road and it was packed – a good sign. We were set in the back where it was quiet. We both got the salad bar – not fancy, but the lettuce was fresh and it was adequate. I ordered the pulled pork and baked potato. I honestly can’t remember what my wife ordered(I’m only 40 – what?), but I do remember that she enjoyed her food. My pulled pork was very tender, but it needed more bark and seasoning. My potato was done almost perfectly. I will say that the best part was the service. The waitress was very friendly. I am going to reserve giving the restaurant a higher score until the next time I go, but I will most certainly go back and order something else.

We enjoy coming to Clancy’s when we don’t want to drive all the way into the city for a good meal, and they don’t disappoint. It’s home cooking at its best, which is what we like. The hostess is always nice, and we have a favorite waitress who is just as sweet as can be. The owner is really nice and personable as well, and always comes around to each table to make sure everyone’s doing okay. That’s a really nice bonus, and great service. I’ve had the fried oysters, and they were awesome! I also really enjoy their veggies, especially the green beans. Their fried cabbage is yummy, as well as the mac & cheese. The hamburger steak is flavorful and hearty, and my boyfriend really likes the shrimp and grits. If you’re going for the Sunday buffet, go early. Things are delish when they’re fresh out of the kitchen, but not so much when they’ve been sitting for a few hours. I also have to hand it to their creativity. While their concoctions don’t always hit the mark, they get an A for effort! Don’t forget to try the cakes: LOTS of options!

To be in a VERY rural environment this place has a lot to offer. This guy can fry!!! The fish, shrimp and oysters are delicious. They bring hot hushpuppies to the table as soon as you’re seated. The fries are fresh cut and golden delicious and the onion rings are spectacular. The steak is just okay… cooked perfect and tasted great but they would do well to find a better grade of beef. We haven’t tried the Q yet but we will. It’s not a pretty place and the service feels truck stop… knives and condiments take several trips… plus a loud tv and sometimes live music makes for an overly active environment. However it’s becoming the see and be seen location for North MS… we even saw the CA society columnist Friday night. Best value in North MS!!!

I love this place everytime I come anywhere near Red Banks I always visit Clancy’s Café. Great Southern food as well as traditional American cuisine, amazing and unique appetizers and desserts like craw fish quesadillas. My favorite is the Catfish Pontchartrain(fried catfish with a creole sauce with crawfish poured over it). The also offer Friday Lunch and Sunday Brunch. You won’t regret your visit great for all people even groups and kids!

Originally called J.T. Crossroads. I’ve only eaten lunch on Sundays. Like the catfish. Hushpuppies are a little small, but tasty. Coleslaw is ordinary. Ate off the $ 8.95 lunch buffet today at about 12:30. Food was not very warm, overcooked. The hamburger steak tasted good, but was greasy. The green beans were very salty. Cornbread over-seasoned. There is also corn seasoned with pimento peppers and I think green peppers and cheese. A little too much for me. Fried chicken pieces. Lima beans. Mashed potatoes — a little stiff. Gumbo rice mixture. Mac and cheese. Banana pudding. Didn’t try it. It looked like instant pudding. Expected to find food not so overcooked. I remember when Crossroads was packed on Sunday — you had to wait for a table. It was almost empty. Wonder what happened? I must say that the wait staff is excellent — above reproach.
