They don’t make their own wines here, so I guess it’s not really a winery, is it? We stopped in for a drink on the way back from Carbondale Sunday afternoon. We got a bottle of Alto Traminette, which was pretty good(we had sampled it Saturday at Alto). We sat on the porch and listed to the excellent live music coming from the barn-like structure 50 feet away(making it the perfect volume for conversation). I felt sorry for them playing to an empty room. They let us try whatever wines we wanted, as a good wine bar should. The server was kind of indifferent, really. The place is nicely decorated and rates worth a visit, I guess. Nothing too exciting.

We live in SoCo and wanted to find a winery closer than Ste Gen or Defiance. The winery is off highway 3 and has about 7 – 8 tables inside, a few on the front porch area, 6 – 8 in the«barn» and a maybe a dozen on the concrete patio. It’s small but nice. It wasn’t crowded on the day we went. We tasted a few wines but then ordered a bottle of Sangiovese and the meat and cheese plate and sat inside for awhile. The meat and cheese plate we felt was a little expensive for what you get but ok. Another winery we go to you get 3x the food on the cheese and meat tray for the same price but that is my only complaint. The wine was very nice for the price. We don’t usually drink local wine, can’t stand Norton. Not sure where they get the grapes but they bottle it under their Lau Nae label and to me a very good value. We then moved outside and enjoyed the patio and music. 2 guys with guitars. They were entertaining and talented. We also noticed other tables brought their own snacks so that is a nice option. They just require you to buy their alcohol. They had a quite a few beers on tap as well for non wine drinkers. I saw Blue Moon for sure We will be back to try the pizza and the merlot next time. They have a fire pit that we will have to check out in the fall.
