Sad to see something that was and could be so cool for Dallas area going bad. I invited 12 others to go Halloween night 2015 and although most of our group were good sports about the horrible mud, all of us were very disturbed by the behavior of a sercurity guard. Winding our way through a maze of nasty mud, some teenagers did what many others were doing, trying to not get stuck in the mud. Some made the mistake of climbing onto the fencing to avoid this deep, deep mud which provoked a security guard to come busting out from a building to yell at them in a shaming tone and told them to «behave like human beings». It was inappropriate to say the least, but even his manager explained to me those kids did not deserve the apology that I asked the guard make to these kids. I’m sorry to those kids, hope they know everyone in our group wants guards to behave more appropriately. It was truly hard to not feel like the paying customers were animals in a muddy barn yard all mucking instead of walking around like human beings. Especially with guards calling us that.

Been going here forever!!! Hours were from dusk to ???, Now they close at midnight, full of cops. Welcome to the pussification of America! This place was born from the hard work of twisted Boy Scouts. It’s now at the mercy of lazy cops! Go some place else!!! Such a disappointment!!!

A friend said that last year this place was awesome — super scary, the actors could grab you & the Reindeer Manor House was the best attraction. It was an hour long & told a story. I’m not sure what happened… The first haunted house was pretty good, and we thought it was a great warm up for the big show. The second house was so-so, but the clown attraction was confusing. It was just a dark inflatable that you had to feel your way through. The big disappointment was the Reindeer Manor house. Waited in line for about 45 minutes. There wasn’t much IN the house at all; most of the haunted house was outside walking in paths created behind the house. We were terribly disappointed. It wasn’t scary at all. We purchased the ticket with a promo code from Amazing Jakes, which brought the price down to $ 25. If I had paid the full price, I would have probably asked for my money back. Save your money, time & gas. This place is not worth it.

I had fun, but when I went, it was short on actors, which makes a huge difference. The three haunts are good, but are just meh by themselves. Have more, good actors. At one cool place for a an actor on a swing, the kid there did almost nothing, and its a place for a really good scare.

Like a good chunk of reviewers who have visited the once great Reindeer Manor, I am severely disappointed with the changes and«renovations»(as they have deemed them) the new owners have implemented within the Manor. Skits are gone. No more will you be subjected to a falling ceiling, only to escape into Dracula’s lair. You won’t see a macabre scene of torment obscured in fog, or a pond of fire, or have to shield your ears from the INTENSE shocks of a REALTESLACOIL. Seriously guys? You just DITCHED the tesla coil? Really, nothing else needs to be said. They threw out the greatness in lieu of turning the Manor into a 10 – 15 minute walk-through. All the new owners did was copy and paste their concept at 13th Street Morgue/Dungeon of Doom. Absolutely horrible decision, and turns out, you guys now 3 generic and poorly done haunts instead of one great main attraction and two generic poorly done haunts.

I was very disappointed with the new management and their choices that they made with the main haunt(reindeer manor). We went to Dungeon of Doom first and that was okay almost exactly as I remembered it from two years ago as did the 13th street morgue. 13th street morgue was the best attraction on the whole property. The shadow room was just a waste of actors that could have been utilized in the main haunt instead of one person trying to scare you five times. I was also very saddened by the lack of walking around monsters, there were a total of three! 3! The side shows were completely eliminated and honestly I would’ve rather stood in line for 2 hours like before with entertainment than the boring line we stood in this time. We were there on a Saturday night it just was very disappointing overall especially for $ 35!!! Go to another haunt it will be better and way cheaper!

Great looking, very thought out, from the hay ride to the grounds and back it’s just all around a good haunted house. What this place could use more of is environment outside of the haunts. For example maybe a stage show or something more entertainment outside of the already very scary looking haunted houses! Me and my friends have had a great time here what is now three years In a row!

New owners should be ashamed. It seems they took the easy way out instead of doing things right, and I’m not the only one with this opinion because on the hayride back to the parking lot, everyone around me said the same thing. Reindeer manor lost everything that made it unique this year. They dropped the skits. They turned a great experience into a boring run of the mill walkthrough haunted house. They put all their efforts into their flagship house the 13th street morgue, which was the only redeeming factor but still falls short from what reindeer manor has done in the past. Another thing is the lack of actors and performances in the park, only alot of security guards yelling at people. There is very little ambience in this place. I would not recommend this haunted«park» its like they don’t even try. I can do a better job in my sleep. For instance, they can have some music while you wait in line for the hayride… which could also use alot of work, it drives you around for 5 minutes when the park is about 10 seconds walking distance from where you park, nothing to see, no actors, just a time killer. They might have a vision for this place, and it might be good in 15 years, but right now, they dropped the ball, and they took this place back instead of forward.

Went here for halloween this year. I don’t remember anything being remarkable or stand out scary. The sideways room was kind of cool, though. Try screams instead, I thought they were much better, especially for the money you pay!

A group of friends and I went there this past Friday.10/18/13 we waited about 20 minutes after parking to take the hayride to the attraction. It had rained earlier so our shoes were already caked with mud. we got on the hayride which was cool, but boring. nothing scary, no lights. or even one scary actor popping up. The hay was covered in trash bags, wet hay was poking thru everything and soaked all of our butts before we even bought tickets. Every one there had a soggy bottom! We got our tickets pretty quick, and headed straight for the morgue, it was good. the best of the 3 attractions, it actually had grown ups who tried to be scary in it. The dungeon was ok too, more of a maze then anything else. but ok just the same. I was VERY disappointed with the manor itself. There was a guy on the roof with a chainsaw hacking at a corpse while we waited in line. that was the high point of the manor. the rest was bad 16 – 18 yr old actors squeezing our large group into little rooms. It could have been so much better! We should have done the manor first, since it was the low point of our visit. On the upside they have cheap carnival food, It smelled very good and the roasted corn looked awesome! I went to screams last year and had much more fun, Reindeer manor only allows you one trip thru each attraction, while screams let you go over and over again which rocked cause you could do so much more for the same price!

Well I’ve given them another shot, I went with a large group of people I knew so that I would know who I was with no matter what house I went into. We got there early and got a behind the scenes tour which was fun. Because we came with a larger group(16 over all) we got a group discount which made the price a little bit easier on my budget. We had a good time … I think I just don’t like the theatric theme in the main house, particularly with the amount of people they have go in. I luckily had seen most of the rooms ahead of time but I missed some of what the actors were doing because they had a group of about 14 people in our group & ended up being stuck behind 2 or 3 people or around a corner.(Part of our original group and a family of 3 or 4 that got tagged along with us) I’m sure it could be great … If they had maybe groups of 6 or something. The other two houses were a lot more fun because we were in smaller groups of 4 – 5.

Stay away from this place. My last experience there was in 2008 and I have not been back since. What happened is the following: I went there on a night that had potential for rain. I asked the Boy Scouts that if it started to rain, would we, the customers, get help or at least a tow truck out there to get out of the mud. I was told yes. However, that was not the case. It was like $ 20.00 with a canned good to see three haunted houses. Not bad for the cost. I have to say that the scare factor is decent for the price for all three of them. The interior decorations are good. However, customer se rvice, to say the least, makes it to where you never want to go back. My reasons to follow. I went to all three attractions: Reindeer Manor, 13th street Morgue, and the playhouse. By the time I left Reindeer Manor, the last one, it started coming down in buckets for rain. The field was like a swimming pool in 20 minutes, that long it took to get from the attractions to the parking lot/open field. Well, me among many others, were slipping and sliding in the mud with our cars. Many cars had mechanical breakdown due to that fiasco in the mud. The Boy Scouts refused to call Tow Trucks for us, and refused to help us get out of the mud. Each of us helped the rest of us to get out of there by pushing their cars out of the mud. I got like $ 50.00 in tips, that was insisted I took, by helping push their cars out of the mud. To make matters worse, the Reindeer Park remained open to the public, when there was no parking due to a full lot, full of mud, broken down vehicles and water, and people were still allowed to drive into the Haunted attraction. They refused to shut it down. I wrote them a letter, asking for a refund. I did not get it because of their inclement weather policy. I wrote to the attorney general but they could not help. One thing is inclement weather policy, another is plain greed to keep open a hazardous location open, during a rainstorm, to make money, where there is no where to park. I thought the Boy Scouts stood for something. Based on their actions, and the actions of Reindeer Manor, all they stand for is greed and corruption. I would not go back there even if you gave me gas money, free ticket and free food. Stay away from them. If they don’t have customers, they cannot open. Go to Bone Yard, Thrillania, Screams, Dollz House, or Terror Plex. They treat you a lot better. I am sure there are others locations as well that treat you right. Just don’t go to Reindeer Manor. They don’t deserve the hard working money of the people of Dallas.

As far as haunted houses go, they are pretty good. I didn’t penalize them for being a «sloppy» haunted house. Their score is low due to what went on while we were there. But before I get into that, let me start by saying Halloween is probably about the biggest holiday in my house.(We celebrate Christmas too, but Halloween is more fun!) I always decorate the inside and outside with gore and blood and scary tactics. My husband and boys built an electric chair a few years back. So my kids aren’t wimps by any means, So back to the story at Reindeer Manor… We arrive at the turn off and drive on this gravel road for what seemed like forever. In the distance all we could see was this huge flare of flames soaring into the air. Upon parking, we had to be ushered to the«grounds» by hayride via tractor. For added flair and fun apparently it was super duper cold the night we went and it was lightly raining. So it was the perfect setting! Anyway my 2 youngest kids aged 13 and 9 had not been to a haunted house in several years. We make it through the ticket gate and proceed to begin our evening. I let the boys pick where we would begin. They choose the Dungeon of Doom. The bubbly attendant at the door gives us our rules such as we can’t touch them, but they can and probably will touch us. Immediately I knew we’d have a problem. They only allow like groups of 3 or 4 at a time, so they have plenty of time to «torture» you! Not long after entering the house, one of the«spooks» grabbed my 13 yr old by the shirt and tried to force him into a room alone so my son was screaming and fighting because he didn’t want to be alone. Basically at that point he was ready to go after that. But the attendant up front had told us we couldn’t exit. So we keep going until we round a corner and the boys get scared again, but this time my 9 yr(who has asthma) is starting to panic. He’s having trouble breathing(catching his breath) and he’s crying. He’s begging me to leave. We just so happened to stumble upon an emergency exit. As we prepare to leave one of the«spooks» blocks the door and tell us we can’t leave. To which I replied I could and would because my son’s health was in jeopardy. He broke character to tell me we were literally at the end of the haunt and only had 2 more corners to go. Then he pushed on around the corner, but he followed us(still out of character) so I thought he was gonna help us on out because of my son. But I then noticed he ducked behind a freaking wall and we were there to just deal with the brunt of whatever was to come. So we pushed on through and my son was terrified literally at the end because there was a chainsaw at the end. I was quite pissed off after that little incident. My 9 yr old refuses to EVER go back there again. My oldest son, whose 19, actually worked at another local haunted house in the area around the time we went to Reindeer Manor. My 9 yr old was quite prepared for what he was gonna encounter. But the fact he was starting to struggle breathing and I step to take him out of the emergency exit and am then told no and forced on inside the house is a MAJOR problem for me. I am unsure if we’ll ever go back to this one. I will say its spooky, but our situation could have been a lot worse. What if my son had a severe asthma attack and needed paramedics??? No haunted house or amusement park is worth my son’s health! Bad experience! :(

I really loved the detail in 13th Street Morgue!!! The length of this attraction, the perfect looking cobwebs, extensive detail, decoration and choosing of props made me feel like I got my moneys-worth. I really enjoyed the fact that this is a touch haunt as well. The in-your-face interaction from the actors makes the haunt worth it. Although I didn’t get scared/jump once, I will be back next year.

Tayman Graveyard in Midlothian is MUCH better than Reindeer Manor. We were disappointed to see people outside of the Reindeer manor house in street clothes to let people in. There were also employees/volunteers in street clothes sitting & eating on the front porch! Zero for ambience guys! The 13th street Morgue was also a huge disappointment. After waiting for over 2 hours in the line there were few characters in the haunt & the same old props. We waited in line an average of 2 hours per haunt and it SO wasn’t worth it. Very few scares here. It’s like they don’t care anymore. It’s too bad because this used to be our favorite haunt. Save your time & money and have a much better experience, more authentic with more scares at the Tayman Graveyard in Midlothian…

I am obsessed with haunted houses and always try to explore as many as possible each season, and I have to say, out of all the ones I’ve been to through the years, this is my favorite overall experience in D/FW. To start, it’s off a very sketchy dirt road in Red Oak — so just driving to the remote location sets a really fun, creepy vibe for the evening. Once arriving outside the gates(at which points both my girlfriends asked that we go home), you drive down a dirt road for about half a mile before arriving to a parking area. From there, you take a hayride to the actual haunted house, so to say that this is in a desolate area would be an extreme understatement. The haunts were amazing. There are three completely different, full haunted houses. I don’t know how to describe them other than so awesome. The sets were so thoroughly decorated and imagined, the actors were so scary, and the scares were frequent and distinct — it seemed like every time you thought you’d determined where someone was hiding to scare you, it came from somewhere completely different. My friends and I actually ended up on a floor of the 13th Street Morgue, screaming and holding each other before sprinting out in sheer terror. We were at the park for a solid two hours and it was worth every minute and well worth the price. The location, the haunts, the actors, the décor, the entertainment outside the attractions — everything merged to create the creepiest experience. We had so much fun and raved about it for weeks. It’s basically the measuring stick to which we put all other houses now, which has led to a lot of big disappointments at other local haunts. I can’t emphasize enough how much I recommend this park. It is worth the drive, the price, the time — if you go to only one haunted house this season, make it Reindeer Manor!

I’m an old pro at Haunted Houses… It’s one of the reasons I love autumn(another reason being that it’s rarely 110 degrees). I look forward to October and will typically plan out my weekends a month in advance to visit as many haunted houses with as many friends as I can. Typically, my October schedule throws a new haunt or two in the mix, but Reindeer Manor is ALWAYS always on the agenda. Even the year I was a really poor college student(think so poor as to live off ramen and cigarettes as my main food source), I scrimped and saved and went to Reindeer Manor. I’ve been coming here since I was about 12(haunted houses are a family tradition, just like watching horror movies at a young age and developing a serious complex about them– thanks, parents!), and this was the only haunted house to ever make me actually scream in fear. And no, I won’t tell you what part I screamed at– That ruins the fun. Granted, I was about 12 when I screamed bloody murder, but even at that age, this was the only haunt to ever do that, and I’d been to quite a few at that point. In the 14 or so years since that first blood-curdling scream, I’ve grown to appreciate Reindeer more and more. And Reindeer itself has grown substantially since then. In addition to the main and biggest haunt, Reindeer Manor itself, the fine folks here have put together 2 new haunts as well. The 13th Street Morgue is always an excellent show as well, and is the 2nd biggest. There was a time when the 3rd haunt was kiddie-stuff and not that great, but no more. The Dungeon of Doom is still the shortest haunt, I believe, but it is MUCH improved over what they had a few years ago(I think it was called Uncle Stinky’s). One awesome thing about Reindeer Manor is that they really put on a show for you. The people there to scare your pants off? Yeah, they’re actors. Not just folks rounded up who live nearby to chase you in the dark. There is a pace at which you move through the haunts, scenes to watch, and stories to learn. The idea is that Reindeer Manor is an actual haunted house. Do I believe that? I’m not sure. In all my years of going to this place, the only spooks I’ve seen or heard or even felt are the ones in makeup and costume. Reindeer is worth the drive and worth the money. The price has definitely increased in the past 14 years, but I still go every year. Bring a canned food item with you and save $ 5 off(at least that’s what it was last year) the Combo ticket– which gets you in to all 3 haunts. Parking is FREE, which is nice. Some places screw you out of $ 5 just to park in a disused field plus the $ 30 to get in. Not at Reindeer. PLUS, they have a little midway with some games, hot chocolate, a food stand that sells hot dogs and nachos(if you sign up for the newsletter, they typically send you a coupon for a free hot dog). And shows to watch and things to listen to while you stand in line. I’ve also seen them showing horror movies in the barn outside the 13th Street Morgue house. And to top it all off? It’s all for charity. All the proceeds go directly to the Boy Scouts, I believe. And, you can wear a costume to the haunt if you want. Some places lose their minds if you(or even your children) show up in costume. Not at Reindeer. They’re happy to have you. Park in the field, take a free hayride to the haunt, get the combo ticket(trust me, do it. If you can’t visit all 3 haunts in one night, come back the following night to visit the ones you missed!), have some hot chocolate, and scream your face off. I’ll be there at least once this year, that I’m certain of!
