Please. Come here for the Whiskey, Scotch, or Drafts. The food is marginal, unless your high on Mashed potatoes fries, slow service, arrogant staff. They work at the Pub, best job in town ya know! Generally they are fair to good Bartenders on Welfare with an attitude! I’d advise you come and enjoy the Vibe, as in a nice Back bar, interesting local Characters, Big Fish Small Pond Types! Gotta love the Small town Big Shots!

Tipping one back in the same spot as Billy The Kid, Rutherford B. Hayes, and Jessie James has a mystic all its own. Ten taps won’t that include a few local brews will get you started while the whisky waits to polish you off. A lovely and dimly lit atmosphere with light jazz playing.

It’s alright. I went here on a date. It’s definitely more lounge like than actual dining which is fine. I tried the apple and brie sandwich. The waiter said some like it, some don’t. I did not. For some reason the brie cheese was slimey and i couldn’t taste the apple and it was an all out gross sandwich. I only took 2 bites. The waiter did not seem to care that i didn’t like my sandwich nor did he ask if I would like something else or to see the menu again. We sat for awhile without drink refills but we were too busy talking to notice. The service I felt was terrible. We also tried the beef tip appetizers. We asked for no mushrooms to which the waiter asked if we had any allergies because the appetizer comes frozen in a bag. Like seriously? It’s a pub in a nice hotel, maybe don’t tell the customers you’re just heating frozen food. All and all I probably won’t be back and will try to find something a little better. Was not impressed.

Love the atmosphere, Really cool inside. Food was good. The Irish coffee’s at this place is my absolute favorite… It’s hard to find a really«Fun» Irish coffee… It came topped with the most wonderful tasting whip cream and cute green sprinkles on top!

My mom and I are in Red Wing for the annual art festival. We decided to try a new place for supper. The roast beef sandwich, fries and apple crisp was delicious! They were short of staff and running the bar for a wedding reception in the next room, so we patiently waited for coffee refills and our bill. Would definitely recommend this place to others.

You come here for the atmosphere and the drinks, food and entertainment add to the experience. The décor is definitely what you imagine fitting for an old English pub with dark wood walls and a bar with a wall of bottles behind the it. Round tables meant for four but pushed together for larger groups. Our group included 9 adults and one 2 year old. The wait staff was quick to help us get situated with the drinks coming quickly. Once we ordered food, it came in a reasonable time with no errors. The burgers and sandwiches were good as was the flatbread and ravioli. The fish and chips was OK. Prices were very reasonable. If you’re in Red Wing, you should take the time to visit Jimmy’s located in the St. James Hotel right downtown on Main Street.

I generally avoid pubs/restaurants that are either inside of or connected to hotels, but this place is so vibey! They have a nice whiskey selection here, but I typically settle on a Boddington’s, because I don’t see it on tap often. I’ve only eaten a couple things here– the fish and chips are a little different. The fish is super good, but the breading is strange. However, I split an order with my husband and they brought it out on 2 plates for us! So nice! I’ve never seen this place to be super busy, there aren’t any T.V.‘s and prices are decent. It feels like a legit pub and I love it!

Drinks are pricey but the British Pub atmosphere is worth it. You can not leave without ordering the onion rings. Legendary.

The Good: The food was tasty. The beer selection was better than average. The server was friendly. The preparation of the meals was quick. The décor and atmosphere were excellent; love the woodwork. The Bad: Our server, while friendly, was a little slow. This seems to be an issue with waitstaff at the St. James Hotel-related establishments. The Rest: Very nice place to get a drink and have a casual meal.

Food selection is slim but has the basics. Great atmosphere to grab a pint on a cold Minnesota day, Frank Sinatra on the audio. Can get busy around late dinner hour, bartenders are your waitstaff and can get overwhelmed, leaving you waiting for attention. So don’t come here when in a hurry. Super convenient of staying at the hotel and when you don’t want to go back out. Definitely more affordable and casual than the other restaurant on site. Also, best Irish Coffee EVER. Would come here just for that.

Sometimes the stars align perfectly and it all comes together and just feels right. I love the atmosphere of this place. Old world – wood everywhere — funky manly lamps with sheep, pheasants, rams, stained glass with outdoor scenes. Very masculine and cozy with little round tables(my favorite for conversational purposes!) some leather loveseat chairs and little pub chairs. Stellar martini beverages not too shabbily priced at 8.00 a pop. The perfect place to just relax and enjoy some fine libations. There was an amazing live musician the night I was there Dan Mahar was his name and extremely enjoyable and talented. I got to have my chocolate martini with special friends and enjoy some good old tunes like cat stevens, jim croce, wiliie nelson, and many many more. Perfect evening and I cannot wait to go again. Possibly even tonight!

Gorgeous bar w/fireplace and good tap selection. After being shot down at the Port because we arrived 1 min before closing we decided to have dinner here. Started with dry wings for an app. Good wings & loved the side of blue cheese. I’d go back just for that. Ordered my Jimmy’s burger medium –and it was well, WELL done. Kind of a bummer. Bartender never asked me how it was and I was starving so I never said anything. The entertainment was good — lot’s of Beatles, Cash, Elton John, Billy Joel. Decent selections of covers.

I’ve been to ‘the Jimmy’ several times. Jimmy’s is located on the top floor of the St. James Hotel. It’s décor is English Pub style, old world with lots of wood. The Bar is dark, cozy and comfortable. They have a good tap, bottled beer selection with a large liquor selection, especially Scotch. Light, easy listening music typically on Friday nights. The food is good and is not your typical bar fair. I think they have one of the best burgers in town. Bartenders are great and service was excellent. The menu and more info is located on the Hotel’s website.
