We stop in here a couple times a season on the bike from the cities. Never disappoints. I had 2 beers, a Remler and a Ski lift, both were excellent! Really really good beers. We had an Alfredo chicken pizza and it was so so good. My wife said it may be the best pizza she has had. The crust was phenomenal and the sauce was sweet and tasty. The wine is mostly from Cannon Falls winery(local) and gets great reviews. My wife prefers Merlot and they didn’t have that so that was a disappointment but the others were good. Stephan, our bartender really made our visit great. He was such a great kid, pleasant and talkative with an excellent knowledge of the beers. And he was right there with the samples so we could pick what we like. He made our trip great. It’s a nice quaint little place with great pizza and even better beer. We will always try to stop here when in the area.

Stopped in for a snack while driving through Red Wing. Its a pretty small place but cute with some character. In a strange location though. We had some pizza stick things that were ok, nothing exciting and a bit over priced for the serving. And a couple beers. I had the Barn Bluff Brown which was tasty. I liked the names had a bit of history of Red Wing behind them. I didn’t see any pizzas, but probably a decent pie to enjoy with some brews.

I’m not a beer drinker, and I love it here. Really great pizza! We usually order about five specialty personal pizzas and split between everyone. Our favorites: buffalo chicken and the metro. YOUMUST order the cheesy garlic bread as well. So good!

VIsited here on a late Saturday afternoon. Slightly disappointed they were all out of Maiden Rock cider, but happy to hear there was another cider on tap. I didn’t think we could love a pizza more than the Meat Lover’s but the BBQ Chicken has it beat! The 16″ is quite large with 8 huge slices. We split 2 large pizzas between 4 of us and had 4 slices leftover to take home. Elbow room is a bit limited and when its packed as its hard to scoot your chair back to get up or squeeze by another guest to leave the table.

Good selection of house and local brews. Usually between 17 to 20 taps total with one nitro tap. The waitstaff is always pleasant and there are free refills on their house root beer for the kids. Pizzas and the history of Red Wing Brewing are excellent as well!

We went in at about 9:00pm for just drinks and chat and when they closed we we’re pushed out. The atmosphere was relaxing and welcoming. The beer and wine are excellent and the staff were very friendly. I am definitely adding this to my must stop places when in Red Wing.

Top on my list in terms of pizza! I ordered metro pizza and white pizza. It is surprisingly good! The crust, while you are chewing on it, taste sweet! That means the grain they use is really good! Will go back again to try some other flavors.

After taking a mini road-trip to Red Wing for a staycation, because what else do you do in January? We asked for some recommendations for dinner from our B&B. We also asked in town, and maybe even asked at a gas station. I need a well-rounded list before I make any decisions(read: I can’t make a decision). I got all of the same answers from everyone, perhaps because the options are limited in this quaint small town. I didn’t have super high hopes for this pizza joint, but went in with an open mind. If a brewery serves pizza, I’m definitely willing to give it a go. The brewery was not on the main strip in town, but down the street off closer to the river. I liked the understand location, and wished it were summer to fully appreciate their large garage-style door and windows. We were seated immediately and our drinks were brought out right away. Our waitress and hostess staff were awesome, and I loved being able to talk with them about beer choices. I ordered the stout and a few other samples, which were pretty good. I like a bit more carbonation in my brews, and these were a little flatter than I had hoped, but quite tasty. The décor was standard, and the game corner had only cards and picks for kids(am I the only one who loves gaming at brew-pubs?). BUTOHTHEPIZZA. I had not expected the pizza to be so amazing! The crust somehow managed to be dense and moist, and not at all cardboard-y. The entire pizza was the same density(like no burned parts or crusty bits) which to me is the ultimate pizza fantasy. Not too thin, not too thick, this pizza was fulfilling and delicious. You can split a large pizza into 2 types, and it was flawless. We had half Metro — Garlic white sauce topped with mozzarella, crumbled beef, ham and crumbled Amablu cheese — and half Spicy Italian — spicy giardiniera, Chicago roast beef, and mozzarella. Both were savory, gooey and cheesy, ingredients were local, and we were not skimped on the toppings. I left with a few slices to take home, and they managed to be pretty amazing the next day, for a breakfast of champs. The manager came over and talked with us, and gave us some of their history. He mentioned this was the only brewery in the area to be opened in 60 years, and has been welcomed with open arms from the community since 2012. Consider bringing a game of your own, grab some friends and order several pizzas to share, and ask for their seasonal taps!

I liked the Red Wing Brewery and would definitely return in the future when I visit Red Wing again. I was a little apprehensive about the reviews, but was happy to find most of them unfounded. The food service was a little slow — we waited about 45 minutes for two calzones to come out — and the only complaint about the food itself was that the sauce really was overly sweet. Nothing a little salt and pepper couldn’t fix, though. Our server was really friendly attentive the whole time we were there, and the beer we tried was good. RWB is definitely worth checking out if you’re in the area!

Good thing it’s only the 4th of Dec, plenty of time to try the pizza of the month !!! The Greek Gyro pizza is so delicious I find it hard to speak. A large pizza is huge, so many delicious leftovers to take back to the cities. Fresh tomatoes, onions, feta cheese and tzatziki sauce and is that sliced lamb ??? But it’s the crust !!! We had homemade rootbeer and we are taking home a growler for someone special. Courtney, our server , was smart, funny and a genuine beer lover ! One of the best pizzas I’ve ever had!!! Do not miss the opportunity to eat here!

2nd time here & Gabby remembered our group from last time! We had Mickayla?(Spelling?) and she did a gr8 job! Pizza was gr8 w/all of its fresh flavors & farm fresh cheese! In from Chicago so I guess Im a pizza snob. The crust wasnt as crispy as it could be, oh well. Do stop! They have many tasty beers. Royal brew is a current fave! Also host several guest beers on tap! Cant go wrong there!

As an out-of-towner, my local coworkers took me to Red Wing Brewery to try their town-famous microbrews. Walking in, you seat yourself at low tables in semi-bright lighting that reminds me of a mall food court. There are windows into the brewing area, which is sorta neat — I’m sure it’s better when people are in there actually working on the beers. The waitress brought us a 10×14in beer list(double sided!), and we read all of the choices and their paragraph tasting notes, only to find out that the list is apparently some kind of historical exploration. The actual beer list was just written on a chalkboard above the bar, with no explanations available. Our waitress said she had never tried any of the beers and said she didn’t know anything about any of them. I ended up ordering a pint of Red Wing Premium, their house lager. It had a very mild taste, nothing notable. If you normally order a Bud or a Miller, this will be right in line with your tastes. It was fine, but I would order something more distinctive next time. The waitress was very attentive but seemed irritated that we were drinking and not ordering food. She asked if we needed anything else twice in 15 minutes, and then just brought the check before we were finished with our first round. We were there less than 30 minutes because she brought the check, so we left instead of ordering more.

Really enjoyed this brewery after hiking barn bluff we needed to carbo load again. Ordered a personal meat lovers pizza, and a calzone made with green peppers, mushroom, and sausage. Considering we were at a brewery we ordered a few flights to try the most popular are listed on their chalk board by the bar. Premium, and ski jump was my favorites. Fast friendly service and awesome pizza! The crust was crunchy on the outside while the inside was doughy perfectly cooked. Will def be coming back to try more!

Disappointing pizza. Not good. We were out to dinner in Red Wing, and wanted to try this place after it got such rave reviews. The service was very good, attentive but not pushy. The waitress humoured me as I sampled a local red wine(horrible), then one of their craft brews(Red Wing«Premium”– aweful), then another brew, Remler’s, which was quite good. On to the food. We had high hopes for the pizza, based on previous reviews, with comments like, «The best I ever had» and«Rivals anything in the Twin Cities.» NOTTRUE. The crust was more like bread, too thick around the edges, and soggy in the middle. But the worst part was the sauce, which was truly horrible. It way WAY too sweet, and lacked any depth of flavor. They would have been better off opening a can of Ragu pizza sauce. Apparently they make the pizza sauce in-house, which, to me, is even more damning: surely they can beg, borrow, or steal a decent pizza sauce recipe. C’mon guys, do us all a favor: spring for a few hundred bucks and fly your chef to New Haven, let him try the pizza and talk to a few pizza chefs, and then come back to Red Wing with a respectable recipe. I would definitely go back to Red Wing Brewery for the beer, but I’d probably save room for dinner elsewhere– at least until someone tells me that the management has decided to take their food as seriously as they take their beer.

We were in serious need of a day trip to get away from the city hustle and bustle. We were greeted with our desire for a day of outdoor adventure in Red Wing with wet skies. Option 2, find indoor entertainment. As brewery lovers we were naturally drawn to the Red Wing Brewery. And may I say, thank goodness for our natural instincts. Beers: 9 different RWB beers on tap with additional old school Red Wing and Minnesota delights. For the kids or non-alcoholic lovers, they offer their very own sweet, tasty root beer. Rating — 3.5 out of 5. Flavorful, but no Dangerous Man. Food: The pizza was the true highlight. I would go back just for that. It’s a bit pricey, but they load the toppings so it makes up for the dip in the wallet. The crust and sauce are laced with a sugary addiction that pairs perfectly with the salty, fresh cheese and locally crafted pepperoni. If you live within an hour drive it’s worth the trip. You can work off the carb coma by walking the river, hiking up Memorial Park or cruising down Main Street.

I can’t speak to the food(though people rave about the pizzas!) but the beers were super solid. My husband and I built a flight, with each 4 ounce glass priced at $ 2.50. Not too shabby! I loved that they only have one IPA on tap. I know, call me crazy. We had 4 tasty, old-school, malty beers. Yum. The Royal Brew is like a 100 year old recipe, and its so good. Good service, staff was knowledgeable, but just a note-the place is pretty small!

With the kids and wife waiting in car, I decided to jump in the brewery and grab a growler for the road. So this is my temporary review, until I can get around to tasting some food and more brews that they make. From my breif experience the service was good and knowledgeable about the brews. The taproom was nice and quaint. I ordered a scottish ale growler and loved it. I can’t wait to get back there.
