this is the last time I’ve had less then average food from here. I keep trying to over look it because of its convenience but I’ve had plastic from the imatation crap left inside my sushi roll. I’ve had sushi that was practically inedible due to the fact it was so stuffed with cream cheese and drenched in spicy mayo sauce, and might I add the seaweed was dried out and old. I spent 32 $ this last time and was unable to eat almost any of it because of that. I threw more then half away. Plus the rolls where coming apart and it was basically a sushi salad before I knew it. I always tip over 30% and I’m really let down. when I tried to call to explain what happened this last time, no one would answer. I like supporting local businesses and try to help them thrive but all I’ve noticed is that they can not make sushi and the rest of the menu is extremely oily and mostly deep fried. Please do a quality check !!! And maybe taste your sushi once in a while… I’ll gladly give it another try and pay for quality regardless of price if it’s good food and great presentation. They definitely have some work to do.

I like this place. There is a wide variety of sushi and a few Chinese type dishes at a reasonable price, the kind of place you don’t see much of in a town the size of Red Wing. I will say this, the sushi was not as good as Sushi I have had in more upscale type Sushi places in bigger cities, but the price is much better at Sarkura and the food is still very good, glad to have a place like this near by. for what it is this is a cool little place.

Wow! A true gem of a restaurant hidden in plain sight! Ok, here’s the deal. I have driven past this little unassuming place many many times. I just never had the chance to stop in until tonight. This is a very tiny place but don’t let that fool you. The really nice chef was helpful with the menu and was very pleasant and patient. I ordered tempura seafood roll and it was delicious! I hadn’t had this particular Asian cuisine since I lived in Minneapois. It was spectacular! Don’t judge this book by its cover. Give it a try and I’m guessing you’ll be as surprised as I was by the service, freshness and goodness of the food. A+

Over-priced«fake» Japanese food… i don’t think the owners are Japanese? Went there once for a bowl of noodle soup & probably won’t go back anytime soon. For those that never had real Sushi or Sashimi, perhaps that’s an okay place to try something new:)

I do not understand why people are giving this place great reviews. I live in California and have been eating sushi since I was 6 years old. This is not great sushi. The fish was sliced so thin you could see through it, the rice was hard and the rolls were unimaginative. The dragon roll had so much avocado, and cucumber and a tiny piece of fake crab, it was ridiculous. The gentleman running the place was the only saving Grace, very nice man.

We’ve been coming here since they opened. It’s literally a «mom & pop» restaurant and the couple who own it are very friendly. The sushi is always very tasty & presented in an attractive manner. We especially love the Spicy Tuna Tataki roll, but I’ve never had anything here that I could say I disliked.

Great sushi and Asian food restaurant! The rolls are always made with fresh ingredients and tightly rolled. They’re also big! One specialty type roll will fill a person up. I love the Cass tempura roll, I’m sad I don’t get to red wing much anymore, I used to eat here weekly. The couple who own Sakura are Also very friendly and sweet, they try and make conversation with you and make you feel welcome.

Don’t be fooled by its appearances. Almost as good as any upscale roll house in Gangnam, Seoul.

Fantastic sushi. Better than sushi that you will pay two or three times the price elsewhere. Nice people, clean, and fast. Don’t let the plain exterior of the building fool you. Love the selection and taste.

What a pleasant surprise. I didn’t expect to find such good sushi or curry in Red Wing. I stopped in for takeout somewhat late on a Wednesday night. No one else was there at the time. The food was prepared very quickly, it seemed likle I hardly had to wait. Both the sushi and curry were delicious, and were still quite warm after i had walked back to my hotel. I would definitely recommend a stop in here if you are in Red Wing.

It is rare to find good sushi outside of large cities, but this one is a real gem. Their large selection of sushi roles, sashimi and nigiri was impressive, and the ones we tried were all very satisfying. Everything tasted fresh and the prices were very reasonable. The couple who runs the place are incredibly friendly and the service was great. Friends kept recommending that I visit Sarkura in Red Wing and I finally found the time, on my way up to the Twin Cities from Winona. I am sure I will stop by next time I drive through.
