Scott’s Chem-Dry Red Wing

We selected this company to come out and clean the carpets and remove a few stains. The man who came said that he was able to remove one particular stain, but after he left there was a brown ring around it still. There were also faint pink areas that could be seen in other spots. After getting him on the phone and voicing our complaint, he was defensive and hostile. First, he angrily agreed to issue a refund. Then a call back: Giving a refund is against policy. We weren’t told to sign anything before the job was begun, so the policy was unknown to us… He called back again and said he wouldn’t cash the check after all. It turned out all right in the end (we removed the brown ring stain ourselves after 3 hours of scrubbing; when we told him this, he said he found that hard to believe since they have special chemicals, etc, which seemed like a comment equivalent to «you’re a liar»). We felt it was important to let others know about this disappointing experience. 2 stars instead of 1 because he was pleasant at first while doing the job.
