Best Western Plus Twin View Inn & Suites

We stayed two nights at this Best Western. It was a great experience and we would stay there again. It was clean, the staff were super friendly. The continental breakfast was out of this world. They served fresh baked cookies in the evenings. The hotel had a couple of worn spots but overall it was in great shape. I used the business center to work on my column. It was great to work in. It was quiet and even had a desk fan. The pillows and beds were comfortable and the room and bathroom were clean. I’d highly recommend staying here to anyone. I have a touch of OCD when it comes to staying in hotels and I was very comfortable with this one!

If there was 5plus stars I would give that. The newly remodeled hotel is much better then five star hotel I have been to. We checked in late night with the kids and needed milk for kids and the front desk was more then happy to arrange that for us along with some muffins. Now this, I would call is above and beyond 5 star service! The room looked very clean and well stoked with refrigerator, microwave, TV, free Wifi, Coffee, two beds and much more for only $ 105 with everything. Amazing!!! Better then Hilton or HYATT I have been to.

Clean Room. Soft comfortable beds. Variety of bed selections available if booked early. Price was good with our discount. Enjoyed the Hardwoods floors, they are much cleaner than carpet! The free breakfast was actually pretty good for being a fast to go breakfast… They had hot waffles, toast, eggs, bacon, sausage, cereal, fruits, yogurts, juices, coffee, tea, etc. I would definitely stay here with my family again.

This place is okay, not my favorite, buts it definitely not a motel 6. When I first checked in there was a problem with my door and it wouldn’t open. The clerk told me the door knobs were put on upside down, so in order to open the door you had to pull up (just a FYI). Then once I go into my hotel the AC machine wouldn’t work so again I had to go to the clerk and get a new room. For me that’s why it lost two stars; however, I did appreciate the fact that it had a TV with more then 5 channels also the room had a mini fridge and a microwave which was awesome. I probably won’t be coming back however I wouldn’t tell anyone to not go here, if it’s in your budget then do it. It’s not the worst place to stay.

This Best Western landed in the A-​OK category in spite of the mediocre mattress.
The Room: It was the first BW room that had «hard wood» floors. Small fridge, microwave, and desk would make this a great spot if you were in town on business. However, the floors were thin and we could hear the dancing hippos directly above us. Ugh. 2.5÷5
The Bathroom: Quite small, but the water was hot and had decent pressure. Typical bath products did the job. 2.5÷5
The Mattress: The king mattress was very soft, a bit lumpy, and otherwise meh. 1.5÷5
The Staff: Friendly, helpful, and funny. ⁵⁄₅
The Rest: The lobby looked like the waiting room to hell — a mix of kids, old folks, and randoms had set up shop. Did they not have a room to go to? What the hell, man. If I wanted to see a fat woman in a muumuu I’d have gone to the local walmart.

Nice staff, good beds, great sheets. Pricey for Redding, though… $ 90 per off-​season weeknight in a non-​destination town is a bit ridiculous.
«Free» breakfast (paying $ 50 more per night than Motel 6 for the breakfast option isn’t quite free) is toast; microwaved egg patties, sausage patties, and bacon; waffle makers; hard boiled eggs; yogurt; apples, bananas, and tangerines; and oatmeal packs and a few cold cereals; and coffee, orange and apple juice.
In-​room coffee is gross, but breakfast bar coffee is good. The breakfast bar should stay open past 9:30am, though, and coffee should be available through the day. Come on… for that price, BW should let guests sleep in a bit but still enjoy the «free» breakfast.

This was a good place to stay on a recent road trip up to Bend, Oregon as it is a good ‘halfway point’ The free breakfast is not really bad for being included and the staff here is quite friendly.
On the way back to California, we left at 10AM and decided to power through the trip all in one day. We arrived back to the SF Bay Area at 6pm, not bad.
In retrospect, we maybe did not have to stay here on the way up to Oregon but if you don’t want to drive for 8 hours straight, this is not a bad choice to stay overnight.

We stayed here for 1 night on our way from San Diego to Seattle. We called ahead to see if they had a specific channel, as the Walking Dead was premiering that night and we wanted to watch it. The girl who answered the phone was SO INCREDIBLY helpful and sweet. They did indeed have the channel, so we decided to make a reservation.
This hotel is right off the freeway, and easy to find.
Not much around it, unless you are in the mood to buy a tractor. The hotel parking lot is large and the hotel looks clean from the outside.
We got checked in and headed to our room… here is where the story gets intresting.
We cant find the elevator (even though there are signs). Then we cant find our room. This hotel is a friggin maze!!! Its so complicated. Ok. Fine. No biggie; after much direction from the cleaning ladies we found the elevators, then our room.
When we open the door we are hit with a wall of blazing hot air and the smell of burning plastic. The heater had been left on for god knows how long. We immediatly turned on the A/​C and sprayed the room in attempt to remove the plastic smell.
We unpack and settle in. This place is kind of dumpy.
There were hairs stuck to the shower wall. The shower feels like it will fall through to the first story when you stand in it. It creaks and groans under your weight. The wall paper is peeling off the walls in both the living area and bathroom. The sink is seperate from the small cramped shower/​toilet area… which makes for a fight when you are trying to blowdry your hair right next to the tv while someone is trying to watch it. There are gaps in the walls of the bathroom. It actually looks like this place was built by the blind. One of the power outlets doesnt work. And wandering the halls was the child of the cleaning lady. WEIRD. The beds were clean and decently comfortable. But I left with a headache from that awful plastic smell. Ugh.

Clean rooms, good air conditioner right off the I-​5 but far enough away that you don’t hear the traffic. Reception staff are pleasant. My only con was that we (me and the hubby) reserved a king suite because we are on opposite schedules so he goes to bed later and generally suites we’ve stayed in have a tv in the sitting room and bedroom. This did not. TV was in front of bed and no tv in sitting room. Other than that no complaints. Would stay again just wouldn’t bother with the suites

Pleasant and helpful staff, nice rooms, decent prices, close to Lake Shasta, decent if not great breakfast. what really stands out is their cable TV selection. I have never seen so many free premium HBO etc channels in a Best Western. in fact, not even at the Hilton family hotels I usually go to… well done!

Rooms are clean. Although there were no towels in my room. But someone did bring some up promptly. Very comfy beds. Lots of pillows. My biggest complaint is that we arrived on a Friday & the soda machine on the 2^nd floor did not work & the one on the first floor was out of 7 up, sprite & Sierra mist. We informed the front desk of this issue. After a full day of sun & fun at the lake. Still no soda on Saturday night. Really needs to be addressed. We need our mixers people!!.

Lisa on reception was so polite and helpful.
Upgraded and entered into rewards promotion for a $ 50 rebate.
Clean room as usual. Good rate.
We were exhausted after driving all day… just what we needed.
The 5 stars are for the service. It’s a 3.5 star hotel just because it’s an older building aimed at discounted rates. But it’s clean and all we needed.

You can do much worse in Redding.
The rooms are clean; the beds seem newish; the AC works. I didn’t think I’d need any sort of AC in the middle of a cold, misty late December, but I was wrong, and I was glad I was wrong.
The hallways are confusing for no good reason, and the late-​night desk person was not the best at her job; but we had just driven all the way from Corvallis, Oregon, so her repetition was annoying but not deleterious in any way. And the comp cookies are good, but I wonder who’s touched them.
It’s far enough away from the 5 that you don’t hear any traffic noise.

Gave this facility a 5 star a year ago, now downgrading to a 3 star. They’ve let this BW go to some degree. Not nearly as clean as a year ago. The freeway noise did bother me this time, but you can’t control that. Need to improve on the cleaning. And a little over priced still.

On a family road trip to Washington to visit my son for Thanksgiving. We needed someplace to crash for the night before we continue our drive to Oregon. I’m impressed! Very clean rooms. They serve breakfast and free wifi is a plus. The Inn is visibly seen from the fwy. Considering that it’s a holiday weekend with no reservations, we were able to get 2 rooms with 2 queen size beds for $ 84 each with AAA discount, $ 89 without. Regular rate is $ 109 a night. Not to shabby!

This was ok, not wonderful. we stayed because of a car problem. The reservation was for a fair price. Room ok. Good for a dog. Lots of girl softball players made it hectic. Breakfast bar looked like a horde of locusts had come through. Staff tried to keep up. We would stay here if we needed to again.

Easy access from Hwy 5. We didn’t experience hwy noise but were disturbed by folks on loud motorcycles on the one night we were there.
We were on the upper floor in the one bedroom suite with 2 queens and 1 king bed. The 2 queen beds are outside the room (No privacy but separated from main seating). One bathroom but there’s an additional sink outside the bathroom. There’s a small separate seating area. Bedding was comfortable. Breakfast was the normal fare of toast, boiled eggs etc. Nothing special. They kept running out — the lady was trying hard but was having a tough time keeping up. The breakfast seating area is very small and got full real fast. Was chaotic with so many folks trying to get breakfast done before the 9:30 hr.
TV picture quality was very bad of most of the channels. Didn’t use the pool or fitness center.
Didn’t realize this was a pet friendly place till a lab coming out of the elevator came too close for comfort.
Liked the bottled water near the front desk. Good for a one night stay.

We were on our way to Ashland but got turned around because of snow. My wife quickly called AAA and got us last minute reservations. Smart cookie. It was sold out when we checked in at 7:30PM. Lucky us.
We went to dinner right away and came back to the room. King bed, non-​smoking, small bathroom, one sink for doing makeup and stuff, a desk and chair, two person sofa and about a 32 inch flat screen TV that has not been turned on yet. It’s small, it’s on the first floor, it’s very clean and we are safe for the night. Oh, a cool thing. The bathroom has a Toto toilet with a soft close seat. I have those at home. I’m impressed. Maybe I’ll stay a few more nights.

Yes this place is horribly overpriced, but compared to the other places we stayed in during our «vacation» to Mt Shasta — this was heaven! We ended up paying around $ 120 on Hotwire for this hotel.

–Not a lot of stuff to eat nearby
–Air conditioner was loud and when it was on it was hard to sleep on the bed next to it, when it was off it was too hot in the room
Would I come back? Yes if I could get a better deal on the prices!

On our move from Seattle to San Francisco, we’d made most of the distance in one day. It seemed prudent to stop in Redding after an evening spent winding through the mountain passes of southern Oregon and Northern California. And when a highway sign mentioned there was a Best Western off of some exit we were approaching, we took it as a sign to stop and get some sleep.
I want to go into this review noting that the woman who helped us check in was helpful. Nothing against her. She was friendly. She also got me my change back when the vending machine went bust.
But frankly the prices at this Best Western seemed to overmatch the amenities offered. The place felt shabby. We were hungry – and while we could have got in the car and tried to hit the local Dennys, frankly we were too tired. But alas, there were no good food options nearby or on the premises. The broken vending machines finally yielded up melted candy (while failing to give me the SunChips I’d ordered, instead dangling them inside the glass front, taunting me: Drive all night, and get only a melted Twix!) The air conditioning was one long rattle all night. The room smelt musty. These are all things you can expect from road trip hotels… but not at the prices we were offered.
Verdict: Overpriced for what you get. Dingy. Bleh. Helpful staff though.
