Dan’s optical is the best shop to get glasses ln the Redding area. Dan is very knowledgeable about the fine points fitting glasses. His prices are better than the big box stores or small shops. My last pair of glasses took one week and I had a few coatings on the lens. Do yourself a favor and go to Dan’s optical for your next pair of glasses.

Dan has been making my glasses for many years now. He is extremely knowledgable about his field of expertise, has his own lab, has his wife assisting him and his customers. This is a local, family-​run business that cares about the quality of service provided. I always learn something new about my frames or lens, get personalized service and have a large variety of frames from which to choose. It usually takes 7−10days for glasses but they are always correct the first time. It may be a bit more of a drive but it is worth it!

Was really impressed with Dan’s Optical. Friendly very attentive owner, who obviously takes pride in making sure the customer is taken care of. Even offered to repair glasses that I didn’t purchase there (An older pair that was falling apart). I felt an almost old fashioned sense of pride in this optical shop and it was very refreshing. Cost wise it was very competitive especially since I needed the glasses done on the fly. I had new glasses in under 24 hours without any additional charge. Overall I highly recommend considering them for your optical needs.

I ordered glasses for my son here after learning that they could custom cut lenses to fit his really expensive frames. 1 day after receiving them the left lens popped out. They put it back in when I brought them the glasses, but the same lens popped out 2 more times. I suggested that they cut it wrong, since it clearly did not fit the frame and was repeatedly popping out. They insisted that they didn’t and insinuated that it was my kid (who was 2). I was pretty annoyed, we had never had this issue before (and haven’t since, and my child is almost 5). After a couple more times of the same lens popping out it got lost when it did so so they cost me a lens and I ended up going elsewhere. I’d not go to them again or reccommend them.

I’ve been going to Dan’s Optical for several years and cannot imagine better service than I’ve received here. Not only is Dan very knowledgeable but his wife Denise goes way beyond good customer to make sure your every need is met. Great selection for frames, competitive pricing and most importantly wonderful service.

I can’t say enough good about these folks! I got a prescription at Lens Crafters and then I had Dan’s Optical make the glasses. The prescription from LensCrafters was wrong! Dan’s Optical gave me an optical check, and then made me a new pair of glasses! And then did not charge me for the redo on the glasses. Even though the mistake was originally from Lens Crafters!
Dan’s Optical is old fashioned customer care and they really want to do right by there customers. Not just make a fast buck! This is a good, solid local company that will always work to give you good service.
