Good taqueria fare, especially for Redding. More authentic than the usual joints catering to that«white bread» Mexican style. Al pastor, asada, and lengua were all very good. Fresh and tasty salsas to pick from as well. Do recommend :)

My sister lives in Redding and wanted to give it a try because she’d heard good things. El Pastor FTW, kids! The tacos were flavorful, and a good portion size. I also tried some of my mom’s enchiladas and my sisters veggie burrito. All were excellent. They also have a good selection of hot sauces. Since our first visit, sis reports they have become regulars. I’m looking forward to many future visits!

I got the bistek ranchero plate, which came with beans, guacamole, sour cream, lettuce, and your choice of flour or corn tortillas. The steak was very flavorful and quite spicy, which is indicated on the menu.

I wouldn’t have found this place if it wasn’t for Unilocal. Not a hole in the wall but definitely Tucked away. Very authentic tasty cuisine. I would highly recommend this place.

Best consistent Mexican food in Redding! Nobody can touch this place for quality for the price. Customer service is always great. No reason to have fast food, come here for a home cooked meal fast.

This place has amazing food. It’s a little hidden and we found it simply by chance I had the carne asada super burrito and it’s the best I have had in a while. Paired with the mango jarritos it’s even better Definitely a place I will go back to on my way up or down I-5

Oh my Heavens. What a little gem this is. Great Mexican food, decent prices. Everyone is always incredibly friendly and the service is FAST. My absolute FAVORITE part is their salsa bar, which they re-stock with regularity. SO many options ranging from mild to blow-your-head-off spicy. We love the chips and salsa and putting the salsa on EVERYTHING. Ordered the nachos once and they were not my style. I requested real melted cheese instead of nacho cheese(which they happily obliged) but it was flavorless white cheese instead of cheddar. Kind of just globby and blah and had an overload of sour cream on them. Not much flavor(salsa to the rescue!) and got pretty soggy. I usually stick with the chicken tacos.

Best carnitas! Right amount of char and flavor. Cooked perfectly. Delicious chili rellano too. Not too much batter or cheese. Great place to stop when traveling through.

Fast, friendly service. This establishment is located in a cozy little corner off to itself basically. It is nice, bright and inviting with a delicious and affordable menu. I ordered the super nacho, a taco, and an iced cold diet Pepsi. I was very satisfied to say the least. I look forward to visiting again in order to try other items on their menu board. I recommend it to anyone looking for a quick delicious Mexican food fix. Be sure to try their fresh salsa bar. Delish…

Great carne Asada super burritos and chicken enchiladas. A local joint for sure worth the stop on the way to Pitt or Fall rivers.

First time here. Ordered a pollo adobo(marinated chicken) super burrito and chips to go. Chicken is shredded and very tasty. Only bummer is the burrito is missing the«super» ingredients, seems they forgot the guac, sour cream, lettuce, salsa. All it is is meat, beans, rice and cheese. Disappointing. Chips were good and can’t knock a place with a good salsa bar. Will go back but when I order make sure I’m heard when I say super burrito!

These folks make wonderful Mexican food. And they have lengua, or beef tongue, anytime you want it. Which for me could be every day! The Churn Creek Rd location is somewhat larger than the Pine St restaurant. Both have great food and great service! Go eat!

I drove past this place the night I flew into redding for some company training. Being from Texas and all, it’s hard to find comparable Mexican food. This place blew my mind! I had the best pastor taco I’ve ever had in my life! I decided to try a carnitas also but wasn’t all that impressed compared to the pastor. The meat was so flavorful! Every bite was a mouthgasim. They even have a sweet salsa bar and the carrots!!! They had beer but no margarita :-(. I thought about 4 stars due to no Rita but after I ate that pastor taco they won my 5 star vote even without the margarita! I have been craving this place ever since(3 days now)! I will be back before I leave next week!

Stopped by for a quick lunch on the road while passing through Redding. I went straight for the tacos, getting two each of the pastor and the carnitas.(I also snuck a bite of the chile verde.) The pastor was my favorite of the three, but all three meats were excellent, and came doused in some pretty good house-made salsa. One bite was enough to tell that this place beats the pants off any taqueria in Seattle(where we were driving from). But that’s not a massive achievement. More impressively, I think Los Gordos holds its own against any of the many delicious tacos I’ve eaten in the Bay Area. Prices are maybe a shade high for no-frills California Mexican food, with a basic taco running $ 2.19, and a basic burrito running $ 6.99. Both can be upgraded to ‘super’ versions(cheese, guac, sour cream, kryptonite) for a couple bucks more. Special plates and seafood are in the $ 11-$ 13 range. They also do breakfast, and have a menudo special on weekends.

Came through while on vacation and it was very good! Enjoyed their carne asada tacos.
