I didn’t come for the food, though that was really just fine, but I came because the bar is rumored to be an avid Pats-fan-friendly bar. However, I felt like I was backed by more Pats fans a few weeks ago in Stamford while they played the Giants. I think my husband and I were two of four people there to support the Patriots during a 4:25 game, and one of those other people may or may not have been staff. So if you’re going for the game and some comradery for the Patriots, think twice. There were far more Eagles fans at a bar in Connecticut than there were Patriot fans. I’m not sure what’s really«Pats-friendly» about this place other than the single lit up helmet on the wall, which is nearly overshadowed by the giant Jets flag on the ceiling. The pub itself was kind of oddly set up. I was never really sure who was working there and who was there to watch the game, other than the bartender, and there were more children there than I was prepared for. Not that that’s a bad thing, but it just wouldn’t be a place I would think of as «family friendly». The two waitresses I did see were usually busy flirting with customers are sitting with their friends at the bar. There wasn’t a single stout on tap in December, and I watched as taps disappeared by 6:15PM on a Sunday. Not to mention that you could smell how badly the taps needed to be cleaned from the seats at the bar. The food was entirely mediocre. The fries, though amazing to look at, were cold and rock hard. The mac & cheese bites were delicious, but I think they were previously frozen. So if you have other options for the game, for a drink, or for food, you may want to take them. I know I won’t be back. Ever.

Pretty solid spot! They have great outdoor seating, and a nice variety of beers on tap. The buffalo wings, are huge, and are very good. The service was great as well!

I only come here for wing nights, can’t beat 35 cents,(not sure how other food is) however I recently stopped coming here for about a year as the wait staff was just terrible, it would take over and hour for them to serve us drinks and many of them would be taking cigarette breaks or flirting with customers. Very unprofessional and caused me and my friend group to avoid this place for a almost a year. We decided to give it a try again last wing night and it seems they have finally fired these 2 terrible waitresses. Everything went smoothly and the wings still taste great, will be making this a regular weekly spot again. Thank you for firing them, at least I hope you have. At the same time Im not sure how much attention this owner pays to the bar considering they have had the same spider web Halloween decoration up at all times in the dead center of the bar for about 2 – 3 years now. Come for wings and wings only, pretty sure the rest of there food is frozen, and come early, crowd gets weird late night, seen a couple fights happen here. But in all seriousness the wings are worth it

Went once to meet friends. Smells & feels kinda dirty inside, can only imagine the bathrooms. For some reason you’re not allowed to take your wings home, don’t understand that. If you pay for them, isn’t that your call? Seems like a beer/sports bar crowd, tho they were out of 3 draft beers my husband ordered. It happens, but the server should’ve known, instead of coming back 3 separate times

Went last night after reading a review on Unilocal about their wing night. An interesting atmosphere. Was still really busy for being after 9pm which we took as a good sign. Getting seated was a little confusing with the multiple unattended entrances. Will definitely make it the go-to place for wing night from now on. Al’s Cookout may have more flavors, but their service is awful and many of their waitstaff are SO rude! We ordered 28 wings– mild, garlic and parm, dry rub cajun bbq and honey bbq and we were not disappointed. Will say the mild were a *bit* spicier than expected, but still delicious! Service was friendly and attentive. Will definitely make it the go-to place for wing night from now on.

The first time or two we went there, we were pretty impressed with the food and beer. The selection of wings is crazy, in a good way. However, after my last visit there a couple of weeks ago with some friends(two of which I hadn’t seen or talked to in ten years), I’m done with the place. First of all, one of the managers wouldn’t leave us alone to play trivia. We had to say no at least three times. REALLY? She wouldn’t take no for an answer. I haven’t spent time with a couple of my friends for a decade. I don’t need or want to play restaurant trivia. So, when someone says no the first time, you leave them alone. We were all really aggravated. Next, the food. I had previously had the pulled pork sandwich there and was very impressed. So, I and two others ordered them. DISGUSTING! It was full of large chunks of fat and pieces of pork that were so over-cooked and dried out that you had to spit them out. To me, that’s inexcusable for a restaurant. I’ve spoken to others in the area and they have the same reaction: disgusting. The waitstaff is friendly, so I place no blame on them at all. This is all a management issue. To the owner: you need a wake-up call because you’re losing customers left and right because of the poor food quality and staff that annoys your customers. I can tell you right now, I won’t ever be back.

Stopped in after my husband’s company Christmas party with a group of coworkers. Plenty of room at the bar and available tables. Mixed group of patrons-including families. Decent tap selection. We only had beer and wings. The honey bbq were great-very meaty. Hubby said the mild were pretty good. Wait staff was friendly. Good service. We would go back.

Absolutely outstanding wings, big meaty, juicy and lots of very tasty sauce choices. We had the Drunken Fish Sandwich which was delicious. Also tried the onion soup which was very good indeed and the carrot fries which were also good. We have cravings for the wings now and will drive the hour round trip for them(living in Fairfield, Archie Moore’s is only 8 minutes away so that speaks to LY’s wings addictive quality!) Guinness on tap is also a plus.

Wish it was better-but this place is hopeless. Wait staff and bartenders are fine –owners are clueless. Order beers in a bottle to be safe-food is basic at best. I’ve heard too many anecdotes about health code violations to recommend.

Updated. We’ve been going back to Lumberyard for the last 2 yrs. it’s improved its menu and service. Their wings and burgers are still the reason to go. Good sports bar and friendly people working there. Not sure if the changed mgmt but much improved. One of our hang-outs now.

Dear fellow Unilocalers, when I envision a local sports bar that also happens to offer hardy food I make sure I go into the establishment in the proper frame of mind. A family style restaurant and bar that has a multiple LCD large TV’s and sports on all day with football nights and live bands is not expected to also have white tablecloth service. That’s a different spot. If I want that vibe I checkout Unilocal and go in with the knowledge of what to expect. Just as my romantically themed restaurant isn’t excoriated because I can’t watch the game while I charm my wife. Not! Get real. If I want a man sized burger, onion rings, or killer wings, that are soooo good you don’t want to fire up the grill at home, check this place out. A great selection of changing brews, or a better than average glass of wine can also be had at the Lumberyard. I know the restaurant gives a great deal to charity and is on great terms with the local police. I have never had any reason to worry about other reviewers dire warnings of girls gone wild outside, or nefarious activities. They sound like sour grapes or disgruntled or fired employee’s chirping in to do harm. While it does get very busy a times it’s no longer a wait than at all other restaurants that I go to when the rush slams the place. Not your typical atmosphere with the displays of Patriot muskets and donated fireman hatchets on the walls. All the local color I want not corporate cookie cutter stiff found anywhere. Any time I travel down route 7 near rush hour I just pit stop at this freindly joint.

this is not a dive bar(at all), it’s a local bar. it’s in the middle of a small town, it’s one of the only bars in the area, it’s main customers are going to be young locals, it’s good for playing pool or watching a game, it’s great for catching up with friends over a drink or two, & it’s not trying to be anything more than what it is.

I grew up in weston, lumberyard was one of the places you’d see me at every Sunday for my nfl games, and almost every Monday for wing night it was our«home away from home» miss it now that I live in Houston but every time I go back home I’ll be stopping by to see my friends

Ambiance — not great… dingy little pub. We came in for lunch on a sleepy Saturday afternoon. Nothing new, exciting or inviting about this place. But the food!!! Food — Excellent! We were shocked when we ordered the wings(they have 16 different types!) and bleu cheese burgers that the kitchen could produce delicious food, but it did!

Axman and boydadactyl wings are amazing. The wings are diesel sized and rival a normal sized drumstick at most places serving then as «chicken» Axman may be some of the best dry rubbed wings around the area too. 35 cent wings on Mondays, good beer, fun crowd from all over… definitely with it over and over.

I have officially switched my night at the Lumberyard from Monday’s to Tuesdays because I do not want to deal with over priced, mediocre wings. On Tuesday they have trivia night and I enjoy to go with my friends after a long day at work. The drinks are usually on the higher side, but this is Fairfield County so no real complaint there. They have half-priced burgers, which are decent for a pub. I find myself usually building a burger because I do not like their selection and they have no substitutions on Tuesdays. As for the trivia, it is RIDICULOUSLY hard. No one ever scores high, and I have only won for team name or tie breaker. I thought this may be because I am young but after being on a team with some more mature individuals, we have all struggled alike. The woman who runs the trivia is super friendly, goes around and helps people out and it considerate is someone does not hear a question, so two thumbs up for her. Anyways, the Lumberyard’s not terrible, but I much prefer the Little Pub up the road for a pub ambiance and better food.

Horrible. The place feels like an uncomfortable bowel movement with no toilet in sight. Food is good but use sparingly. Good beer but if it’s remotely busy get ready for lessons in waiting. Overall, Every place within 5 miles of this eternally rotten outhouse would be better. Even if those places were on fire and you were inside. If you ever can’t get a drink on time, remember there is a massive amount of car-tending outside, so you can walk away with no tab quite often. But throw the bartenders some cash at least, it’s not their fault the place is what is it is. If you like getting fall down, cross eyed, unable to make words come out even resembling words drunk, this place will get you there, just not in a timely fashion. Go to bethel, the roadhouse, lil pub, la piazza, bistro 7, b&g on 7, anywhere in downtown ridgefield. Save your money and time, you’ll be much happier elsewhere.

Because I live close to this bar, I wish I could say I liked this place. Sadly, not so. The first(and only) time I ever came here, I(and the other woman I was with) was completely alienated by the waitress as soon as we sat down. Her blatant pandering to the men at the the table was truly insulting. Not sure who she was trying to impress, considering I was planning on paying the bill. After we gave our drink order, which arrived in a timely fashion, we proceeded to order our meals. I have very serious food allergies which requires me to ask questions about the ingredients of the food. Although the waitress did answer questions(and ask the cook if she did not know the answer), she seemed rushed to get our orders in. As I could eat almost nothing, I decided on the chili. When we received our food(also in a generally timely fashion, delivered by a high-school age boy who looked like he was bored out of his mind), I was not impressed. The chili wasn’t bad, but it was nothing out of the ordinary. On my way to the bathroom, I did find out why our waitress was so rushed to take our order. I was met with the lovely site of our waitress making out with her supposed boyfriend in the kitchen, further disgusting me at the behavior of this woman. Even though the food came out quickly, the quality of the food coupled with the quality of the wait staff makes it safe to say I will avoid ever coming here again.
