Horrible service, go elsewhere for food. Shouldn’t have a business if you don’t have customer service skills. Ridiculous.

This is not phở. It’s an oily bowl of broth littered with green onion served with a side of bean sprouts and more green onions. Every bite is a mouth full of fat. The Waitress sits behind the counter watching a movie but at least she is nice. If you want phở this place is not the place to get it.

There are lots of Thai places in redding that pretend to be Vietnamese. Phở Saigon is The only legit Vietnamese food that I know of in Redding. Absolutely fantastic. The bun Bo hue will knock your socks off. Be prepared. As good as any Vietnamese food you’ll find anywhere in California. The only thing keeping it from being five stars is the prices. They’re a bit steep.

The couple running this place are too sweet to rip. Just know if you’re going for Phở, you will be disappointed.(I know… Phở is in the name…) Other dishes are delicious.

Not sure how this place has such high ratings. I love phở but this place by far has the worst phở I have ever tried. Super oily and just tasted like the broth was days old. I took one bite and couldn’t bring myself to eat any more. I definitely don’t recommend this place. Try Champa Garden, their phở and food is amazing.

Amazing phở! I have been here 5 times and service is always great and friendly. I can’t remember the name of what I get but it has all the meats, beef tripe etc… I think the number 1. That and a Tsingtao and your good to go!

I wanted to give these guys 5 stars but i couldnt, simply because they place was so warm. The Phở was out of this world. I like Phở, but I loved my Phở today. Went in during lunch and I have to say this place is a hidden gem. The size range from small, large, to extra large. Not sure what happen to medium lol. The service was good, the lady was funny if you like dry humor and you can laugh about social differences. My wife and I were drying later after eating here and said, I could go for Phở again. It was that good lol

We had a great culinary experience here. Brought 3 friends and each of us had different variations of Phở. The broth was flavorful, generous portions. I would recommend this restaurant to friend who are looking for more traditional Vietnamese. Only downsides: the restaurant was quite warm, there AC may have been broken. The customer service was a bit lacking. Overall though, we enjoyed ourselves and will be back!

I’m from LA and work in the Bay Area, both areas are swimming with yummy phở places. When I come to Redding to visit the bf, the craving for phở doesn’t go away– and this place delivers! I agree with another reviewer that each Vietnamese restaurant you come across makes their phở differently– Phở Saigon’s broth is so so so yummy(and I’ve had my share of phở!). You can really taste the spices(its not bland at all! Major pitfall of many places). They put crispy onions/shallots with their phở which is not something I see often. My only complaint if any is I wish they had basil more often but cilantro will do as well. Phở is the absolute best for when its cold out or when you have a cold… it’ll cure what ails ye :) The ladies who work there are very sweet and thankful of your patronage :) I’ll be coming here again and again as long as they are open.

One of my favorite places to eat in Redding. I always get the veggie phở and it’s always delicious. Haven’t tried anything else on the menu because I love the phở so much.

I have had phở from many places and Phở Saigon is one of the best. I always get the large shrimp phở. The only negative is the minimum charge for a card is $ 15 or you need to pay with cash.

My boyfriend and I love eating here! The food is always delicious! I don’t have much to compare it to, as I have only ever eaten Phở in Redding, but the flavor is always good and even a small bowl is enough to keep you full for the rest of the day! Highly recommend this to friends and family! So far I have not tried a dish I don’t like. My boyfriend, being vegetarian, loves eating here, so you know that meat, and sans-meat are both wonderful options!

People leaving bad reviews don’t realize that there ISNOT one standard way to make and serve phở. Although it originated it Vietnam, the Chinese, Koreans, and other ethnic groups have introduced their own variations. I used to hate phở because the few times I had it was when a Japanese prepared it for me. It wasn’t until I met a Vietnamese who urged me to try it once again. She prepared phở and invited me over, and it was AWESOME! Her in-laws are Chinese and also make a variation of phở. I have since moved back to Redding and miss my little Vietnamese friend inviting me over for phở :( Phở Saigon is the closest I can get to that, and they do a great job in preparing their phở. I imagine many Asian ingredients are tough to get in Redding, but they manage to make a better phở than I could. The service has always been great, too! The owners are really nice. Their English is a little limited, but they are patient with it, as long as you are. The chicken, beef, and shrimp is tasty!!! I recommend the chicken or shrimp for starters. Beef phở can be greasy. Play with the ingredients in your spoon(instead of dumping them in your bowl)! It’s fun mixing different flavors with the broth :)

Had such a great experience that i went back a few days later for some more Phở. The owner is very friendly and i feel that i recieved very good service both times I’ve been. Look forward to trying different dishes when i go back! I ordered the«Phở Tam»…I think. It was #12 lol I added plenty of Sirracha to spice it up a bit. Yum!

We wanted to like this place :( I rarely take the time to write negative reviews, but I did not understand how this place has 4 stars. We came here for Phở, and ordered 3 bowls for our family and we were really looking forward to it. The broth tasted old and with poor flavor, the rest of the ingredients were not fresh. The sprouts had mold on them. I’m giving it 1 star in honor of my wife, who when I asked how it was, said«1 star.»

I feel kinda bad giving this place two stars because of the situation(not being in a big city, not having Asian grocery store/supplier nearby), but I have to do it because I want to tell it as it was. Even though I have been spoiled by some nice SoCal Vietnamese establishments, I still think Phở Saigon can do better. It just seems to me that they just didn’t try very hard to make good food. 1. It’s expensive. I got a small phở, which at other phở restaurants, is enough for me. However, at Phở Saigon, the small phở was tiny. Maybe good for a 5yo but not me. In addition, my small chicken phở had about 4 pieces of thinly sliced chicken meat –disappointing! 2. No Basil! As other has mentioned, the raw vegs plate doesn’t come with basil… what? 3. Veg eggroll was lacking in filling, the roll was so sad. The rice paper caked into a chunk because a lot of it was just unused. It was not served with peanut sauce, as I originally thought, but rather a liquid sweet/sour sauce more suitable for fried eggrolls. 4. But worst of all, the broth! I know I know, you can’t compare chicken broth to beef broth, but man this broth was sooooo bland. It was as if they had dumped some chicken stock into the pot with fried onion bits. No complexity whatsoever, tasted pre-made and doesn’t have that sweet savoriness you get from homemade chicken broth. I know putting hoisin sauce in phở is like putting ketchup in spaghetti, but I was dumping that hoisin into the bowl like it was no one’s business and still it was lame tasting. Our meal, 1 small chicken, 1 large chicken, and 1 veg egg rolls(with 3 rolls) came to 24 dollars. Not worth it at all IMO.
