If you have a kid who plays travel soccer then you will really appreciate how amazing it is to have the Redding Soccer Park in our own town here. — Very nice /clean bathroom facilities — Good food selection at the snack shop which is open most of the time during games and occasionally during practice times — Playground for tiny kids(0 – 5) though older kids play on the structure as well — Paved track around all the fields for walking(I see a lot of parents get some power walking or jogging in while they wait for their kids) — Plenty of seating and some shade(more shade would be very appreciated — Secure facility — if you drop your kid off for a practice you feel 100% comfortable running an errand and coming back to pick them up as it’s well supervised and non-soccer people are not wandering around in there — It’s just beautiful and makes you feel proud to host tournaments here, though more trees would make it even better. The downside of the astroturf fields is that they radiate up to 20′ additional heat on hot days literally burning the feet right thru your soccer cleats, but the upside outweighs the down side(year round play in all weather and consistent turf, i.e. no holes, mud, rocks, etc.) Of all the soccer tournaments I’ve attended around the Bay Area and NoCal I’ve never come across a nicer soccer complex yet.
