Wow. We are from Santa Cruz and my husband came into to rent a mountain bike. The staff was all SO helpful and kind. I had been to another chain sporting good store down the street earlier that day looking for a backpack. When I came here I was blown away by the selection! They had 4x the amount of backpack selections! They had such a full stock of everything, competitive prices and a great staff. I was very impressed with this store!

Sports Ltd is always a great place for anything involving outdoor sports. They always have wonderful customer service. Employees that know their stuff because they actually partake in the sports too. The selection is awesome from hiking boots, firefighting boots, rock climbing gear, backpacking gear, clothing, biking, glasses, and a ton more. Definetly love this place and have spent soon much over the years. Thanks guys keep it up

Wow! Best experience I’ve had in ANY store in a long time. The item I needed hadn’t been received yet and I was okay with coming back the next day; however, the manager had her team make sure they received what I needed quickly. No way a big box store would have done this! Keep your money local and you support our community and get superior customer service.

Way over priced and bad customer service. Searched for snow pants for my 13 year old and bought a pair that was too small. They were recommended by a sales associate without being tried on. $ 100 mistake! I went back the next day and they refused to let me return them. The girl at the counter was rude and got her«manager» who said I could’ve rented snow pants from them instead of «using and returning». They were worn for about 10 seconds while being tried on and nobody mentioned anything about renting the day before!

I giving this bad review because of the horrible customer service I received from management. I planned to buy some snowboard bindings that were on their website but they did not have in store. The website is incorrect and not updated. So I decided to buy some different bindings. I put them on layaway and not ten minutes after leaving the store I get a call telling me the bindings would not work on my snowboard and to come back and pick another pair. So I returned and instead of picking out another pair. I just got my $$ back and bailed. Management was very unfriendly and not knowledgeable about the products they sell and did nothing to make it right with me. Customer Service score = 0 Get it together Sports Ltd. Going to BoardMart next time!

I went in the other evening to get my tire changed on my jogger, not knowing they closed in a few minutes, and instead of being short and rude 3 different employees proceeded to ask what I needed, I said I’d come back but the insisted. John in the back not only educated me but was fast and efficient when changing them out. He’s a keeper!

Skip the chain store. Their selection of top quality products is excellent. The staff was friendly, knowledgable and helpful.

Excellent selection of high end sporting goods. Great for backpacking, hiking, kayaking, mountain biking, and the like. Highest quality gear in Redding. Be prepared to spend a good deal of money, but I’ve always left happy. Staff is knowledgable and helpful.

John in the bike shop did a great job with my bike. Prices are fair and they are always kind/receptive.

I bought a bike at another LBS(local bike store) but I find myself nearly always bringing it into Sports Ltd. for repairs and tune-ups. Nothing against the other store, they’re great people and will treat you fair. But Sports Ltd consistently trumps them on the customer experience. For one thing, Sports Ltd is fairly centrally located not far off one of the spurs of the Sacramento River Trail. Most importantly, they have long hours and a quick turnaround. I don’t think I’ve ever had to leave my bike there over night. They have a great selection of gear and the guys are pretty damn friendly. Someone once said you don’t buy the bike, you buy the store. If that’s true, then when I buy my next bike, you can be sure I’ll be buying it from Sports Ltd.

These guys are underrated. I think, because Sports Ltd. carries so much great stuff, their bike shop and their bike guys, sometimes get overlooked. I recently purchased a new road bike from them. The deciding factor was the great, no pressure, service I received. They did a great job of helping me decipher the overwhelming information and tailor it to what was pertinent to me. After test riding numerous bikes in redding and chico, I narrowed my search down to 4 bikes. What ultimately tipped my decision was the great service and knowledgeable information I received from Joe and the other guys at Sports Ltd. if you’re looking for a bike, road or Mt., give these guys a shot.

Redding’s equivalent of a chain of outfitting stores known by 3 initials. Very well supplied and the customer service was great. Prices seem high, though.

Been going here for years. Usually better quality stuff than the box stores. Great bike shop. Also good for backpacking gear, flash lights, snow boards/ski equipment,

I can’t comment on their physical store, but as other reviewers have stated BUYERBEWARE of their online store. I placed an order for a hoodie on October 31st. They hand wrote the label, and messed up the zipcode. My package got lost in Post Office hell for 2 months, and they didn’t even bother keeping me posted on the progress even though they happily charged my credit card. There’s one lady who takes care of online sales and she doesn’t respond to e-mails or stay on top of outstanding issues. I finally found the same hoodie in stock somewhere else, and 2 days after placing my order with free shipping have my package hassle free. Avoid avoid avoid !

Sports LTD offers everything you could want from a family owned shop. If they don’t have you covered make the trip to an REI. They have a full bike shop and a board and ski shop w/rentals. Get your snowboard waxed and have your bike tuned while you try on a new back packing pack, they have a deep inventory to give you plenty of options. They know what they’re talking about and are well educated on their products. Friendly faces and are great at taking the time to talk with you.

F — orget these guys! I «bought» some VFFs from Redding via their website, received confirmation, had my credit card charged and felt I could finally close my search for the seemingly non-existent shoes. Going so far as to call the store beforehand and watch as their online inventory decremented while I placed an item into the cart. About an hour later, I get an email saying hey, too bad, we’re sold out. After a little back and forth, they admit that although an item may be shown as available on their website, that is not any reflection of reality. I can’t speak for their physical store but avoid any online shopping with these folks. tl;dr — sold me something they didn’t have

This is an okay store and I have been here a few times. They kind of cater to the crowd of people who drive from Redding to ski at Shasta. Some of their items are overpriced but then again they have a swap(twice a year) and some sale days when there are excellent deals to be found. The main problem with this place is that they seem to exclusively hire younger people who just man the registers, which is all well and good but skiing, boarding and biking are sports where experience makes a big difference and if the worker doesn’t have said experience then it is hard to trust that their product recommendations are good ones. Overall it isn’t a bad place and if you have the money to not wait for the sale/swap days then you might as well come here, they have been in business for a very long time and more or less know what they are doing.

Is Redding Sports LTD kind of pricy? Oh yeah, but aren’t all outdoor sporting goods stores? Are they unique? Everything I’ll say below, I could probably say about REI — but the nearest REI is in Sactown. So here’s the thing. If I had to be content playing only with toys purchased from Redding Sports LTD for the next year, I’d be happy. If I had to dress from head to toe for a year with clothing purchased exclusively from this store, I’d be happy. I could march into this place and drop $ 10k on new stuff I’d love to own — backpacking gear, mountain bikes, kayaks, cargo rack, skis, sunglasses, clothes, shoes, hiking boots — and then do it again the next day. Every Christmas, we drop a boatload of money here just on socks. Hundreds of dollars JUSTONSOCKS. Why? Because they carry Smartwool socks, which are the best socks on the planet. Everyone loves ‘em. l have two unmatched Smartwool Ph.D. socks in my sock drawer, and it breaks my heart to look at them. Go upstairs for the off-season bargains.
