We have been coming here for years on our annual houseboat trip. Never again. 30 minutes sitting at the bar to get watery margaritas and order our pizzas. You bet. Ridiculous. All while the clueless manager walks a new hire around while«training» him. Too many staff not paying attention to customers while one poor girl struggled to handle customers.

You should know what you’re in for when this is the only restaurant around. They have a monopoly on the area so expect high prices. Our large houseboating group of about 20 people went to the Pizza Pub to get some pizzas to go to eat back on our boat(and drink our own beer). The service was really friendly, but also pretty slow. We broke up into smaller groups and ordered our to-go pizzas separately. The pizzas here are pretty expensive, with a large running about $ 35. We ordered a large combo pizza(salami, ham, pepperoni, onions, peppers, black olives, mushrooms) and it was really quite good. The crust was crispy on the bottom but still had a nice chew. The sauce wasn’t too sweet or bland either. We also ordered a small caesar salad, and the guy wrote down«small caesar salad» on our ticket but come time to put our order together, he misread it as a small cheese pizza. That’s fine with me, because for the price of a $ 5 salad we got a $ 13 pizza. We watched the two people behind the counter kind of sloth their way around to make all the different pizzas our group ordered. It took them probably 10 – 15 minutes just to start putting our pizzas together. There was no sense of urgency to get those pies in the oven, but I’m assuming its because with group of our size of late 20-/early 30-somethings, you’d probably want us to order some beer too. There is a dance floor area with a DJ from«Boyz Noize» who looked about 16-years old«spinning» some country music and Top 40 songs. Considering the place was empty on the inside(all the other guests were sitting out on the back patio), the music was far too loud, but it gave our group something fun to dance to while we waited forever to get our beloved pizzas. If you didn’t plan for enough meals on your boat or simply don’t feel like cooking for a meal, the PIzza Pub isn’t a bad option to have. The cost is high, but the pizza is actually good, so maybe that convenience is worth it.

We were super-hungry after our boating and this place filled the need with good sandwiches and pizzas. They have a full bar and live music some evenings. A decent place with friendly staff — and the only one if you are at Silverthorn resort.
