Been coming to this Xander’s for 2.5 years now and they are consistently awesome. Great food, super friendly crew and comparable to any Greek restaurant I’ve been to in NYC and all over the west coast. Highly recommend all 3 of spots in Redding and I eat at at least 1 of the 3 each week. If you haven’t had Greek food before but like meat then you’re missing out — check out the way the Greeks to meat and you’ll e hooked.

A gyro should be stuffed with lamb and garnished with salad, not stuffed with salad and garnished with lamb.(Maybe it was because I had a 2 for the price of 1 coupon. Regardless, I won’t be back to confirm that.)

I would recommend their Gyros but that’s about it, for drive through it gets a little pricey and nothing special for what you get but if you want a gyro fix then it’s good.

Certainly nothing special. Overpriced for fast food out the window and what are those mystery strips of chicken? I’ve had much better for less cash

Best gyro in town and best service to match. The guy running this place is top notch. Knows me and my girlfriends order every time. He even makes this special hot tzizziki sauce for me. It’s killer. I don’t even like hummus, but their hummus and pita gets two thumbs up as well. Eveytime we tip him he is very appreciative too. Love this place.

Hubby and I were looking for some authentic Greek cuisine and this is the place! I had the Lamb Gyro combo with the tabouli salad and my husband had the Chicken Gyro combo with the greek salad. So good! Hubby thought the lamb was the better choice. Although i didn’t try his chicken, the lamb was really good! The salads were amazing and nice portions. And I topped it off with a piece of baklava! Best meal I have had in a while!

My man wanted to stop somewhere to watch the end of the football game and grab a beer on the way down from Dunsmuir, so we choose to grab a beer at Fall River Brewing in Redding. We had a few beers(and a few flights, haha) and decided we were starving and needed a bite before hitting the road again. We found Xanders on Unilocal and choose to give it a try. It’s literally a shack, but the most delicious shack on earth! We each got gyro’s, one lamb and one chicken, and a side of dolmas. The food was to die for and the lady even gave us a few extra dolmas for having to «wait», even though we didn’t wait long at all. They have a few tables outside and a drive through window. I will definitely be going to Xanders the next time I’m passing through Redding!

I’m conflicted about this review. The location is easy to find and convenient. The menu is simple, with a few good choices. The staff was very nice, and the service prompt and efficient. The food was great, and I would absolutely go back if it were not for this one issue. Food handling safety. The staff did not wash their hands and they did not wear gloves. They handled the raw vegetables with their bare, unwashed hands. Food handling safety in this day and age is extremely important. Had they used proper food safety I would have given them 4 stars. Hopefully this is improved.

This place is super good ! Went here because the Greek Shack is closed on Sunday’s. Only downfall, no Falafels at Thai location and seating is pretty sparse. But the food is delicious !! The hummus is out of this world. Definitely worth a stop !! Nice to have some variety to the same old Redding food scene.

By far the best meal I have had in a very long time. The lamb was tender and delicious, grilled to yummy perfection, the humus and pita were so fresh and awesome, if you pull up to the drive through, just turn off your engine and relax, meals this good are worth the wait

The Greek salad was amazing. The dressing is fresh. It is a bit sour and it has oregano. Perfect for the fresh salad. The salad has tomatoes, lettuce, olives, red onion, and big chunks of feta. The feta tastes like it is fresh. Also got a lamb gyro. I don’t like lamb but it was reported to me that the lamb was good. The chicken gyro that I ate was meh. The lettuce and sauce were yummy. The chicken was weird. It had no moisture and weird texture. Tasted a little like breakfast sausage. Would have been better to just get the pita and lettuce and added hummus to it. Which brings me to the hummus. It was not as creamy as store bought but I happen to like that. The only thing is that it was a bit salty. With the pita it balanced out. They also did not give nearly enough pits to finish the humus. I wish there had given more.(this could also mean that they give a lot of hummus which they do.) next time I will buy extra pita if necessary! Also got Tabouli salad which was not as lemony as I like but still ok. Would not go out of my way to get it again. Overall, delicious, just don’t get the chicken.

Heaven in every bite. We were driving on Churn Creek when the sign caught my eye so we turned around and went through the drive thru.(We’ve been looking for a good gyro all over the north state.) The aromas wafting out of the kitchen were a amazing. We ordered the lamb gyro and spanakopita. I tried a bite of the lamb alone first. It was moist, tender, and seasoned to perfection. The gyro was a blend of crispy salad, tender pita bread, and the most delicious lamb you’ve ever tasted. Add the tzatziki and you’ve got a life changing meal. Can’t wait to come this way again and have another.

Best Lamb Gyro I’ve ever tasted. Authentic middle eastern food. Would come back to Redding for a visit just to eat another one.

This place is pretty good. The cucumber yogurt sauce they put on the lamb gyro was amazing and the veg was fresh. The humans was also tasty. Unfortunately the shaved lamb tasted like it had too much filler. Kinda like stuffing without much lamb flavor. I would eat here again, but maybe try something new. Price was a bit high, but 1 lamb gyro is big enough for two.

You could not pay me to eat lamb… until I tried the lamb gyro here. Their secret: it’s 80% lamb, 20% beef. If you’re torn between choosing the chicken or lamb, CHOOSETHELAMB, it is soooo good! This is one of my favorite lunch spots. Staff is so friendly and helpful if you have any questions. The greek salad for $ 5 fills me up and they put more than enough toppings on it to feel like you just got a deal. There is a drive through and outside seating. The one and only downfall to this place is parking. Maybe 4 spots that are reserved for them and if you park in the dry cleaners back lot, which is right next to xanders, they tell you to move. Oh and get a stamp card so you can earn a free Gyro.

This place is amazing. We just moved here from Las Vegas and have found it hard to find the real gem mom and pop places. This is definitely one! Small, clean, and friendly. We had both the chicken and lamb gyro. Both were excellent, fresh, and tasty. The staff is super friendly and fast. We had the dolmas and greek salad for sides, also excellent. We even tried a dessert. Absolutely nothing we did not like about this place.

I’m addicted and I’m totally cool with it. The lamb Gyro is amazing, the tabouli is amazing and I love their tatziki. You get a tone of food for your money and the drive through is convenient. We acutally ended up with a salad with lamb on it instead of gyros today(miscommunication) and it wasn’t as satisfying, but still pretty good. If you want something lighter, I recommend it.

If you eat here you need to be a beef or lamb fan. I’m not, so I got the chicken Gyro, big mistake. My husband’s lamb looked fresh and he LOVED it. The chicken however was sliced from a chopped, processed loaf. It was dry and truly disgusting. Luckily, there was lots of Romain, Tomatoes and delicious Tzatziki sauce on perfect Pita bread. So I had a veggie Gyro and it was good! I think I’ll try it again, but I’ll get the beef.

This place is amazing! Great food, great service. It’s nice to have an ethnic drive-thru restaurant, beside the same old hamburgers. If you have not tried it yet, you are certainly missing out. Try the lamb gyro it is my favorite. the chicken gyro and the tabouli salad are also my families favorite…
