Precision Door Service

I feel that I was sold a product that was more than I needed. I wonder if the installers work on commission. I think a much lower cost repair could have handled the repair.
Also, supposedly, my door had a lifetime warranty from when I paid over $ 400 to have it completly overhauled about four years ago. That was not honored. I learned a lesson and will be smarter if I have to use Precission Door services again.

This company did an excellent job for us. They removed and replaced our broken down garage doors; a double door and a single door. They were on time and very professional. They cleaned up when they were done and took away the old doors and all debris. They showed us how to do a little preventative maintenance and we have been very pleased with the look and performance of our new garage doors.

I am writing this to let as many people as possible know how dissatisfied we are with Precision Garage Door. I originally talked with Paula over the phone about replacing a broken spring and possibly replacing the 2^nd spring as well. We discussed a price and I was told there would be a 5 year warranty for the replacement spring (s). My wife was at home when the Tech came and he made her feel completely uncomfortable. He kept trying to upsell my wife to the point that she asked if he worked on commission. He told her «no.» From there he suggested three different prices to repair our garage door. Again, ALL we wanted were 1 – 2 springs replaced. My wife asked him more than once to please just replace the spring. At that point he DID in fact replace our garage door spring, and it does work. However, he did not give us a 5 year warranty like I discussed with Paula. The reason the tech gave my wife and the reason printed on the receipt was because our door has badly worn out parts that could fail at any time.
I called Paula about this situation and she did say she would try to make this situation right. She also said that the techs do work on partial commission (so the guy lied to my wife). The last time I heard from Paula was Thursday and that’s after I sent her an email earlier this morning (10+ hours ago).
I have never given a review before, but feel that people should know how uncomfortable my wife felt with Precision’s technician. I would not and will not recommend this company to anyone. However, I will tell everyone I know what a bad experience we had with this company. Sorry Precision Door, but you earned it!

With the rapid change in weather we’ve been experiencing in the fall, my garage door opener finally broke down. The technician we spoke with confirmed that this is common; both extremely cold temperatures and hot temperatures greatly increase the chance that your garage door will break down. The technician recommended and installed a Lifmaster 8500 garage door opener, on the basis that it would be one of the quietest options available (which was important to us). Another big selling point is that I could open it using an app on my phone, which is fun to show off a bit.
The technician was on-​time and came in a fully-​branded truck and wore a uniform (I’m not a fan of the «shady white van» style of maintenance companies, so this was appreciated). The price was reasonable; not super cheap but I wasn’t surprised or bothered by how much I paid. I’m actually somewhat bothered by how low of a star rating this company currently has on Unilocal,I honestly do think they deserve a higher rating. I would recommend them to a friend.

I wouldn’t recommend this company! I was charged $ 500.00 for a 10 minute job! All that needed to be done was to hook the cable back up on one side, and put the rollers back in the rail on one side. The tech. said that I needed new rollers, the spring had to be tightened. I think I was ripped off!

This company is very professional. I called and they set up an appointment for someone to come out the next day, Sunday. I was happy they were available to work when it was convenient for me. The technician, Stefan, was courteous and called when he was running a little late. He had my garage door spring replaced and fully functional very quickly. I’m overall very pleased and will recommend this company.

After a detailed description of the broken part on the phone, Precision told me my garage door could be fixed. When the tech arrived he took 30 seconds to look at my opener, said it could NOT be fixed and that I needed a brand new opener for $ 475 — he then charged me $ 75 for the 30 seconds of his time.
I had another company out today and not only did they fix my garage door, they didn’t charge me for a few of the parts! And on the phone, when I set up this appointment, they told me that if they could not fix it they would not charge me for just coming out.
PRECISION IS A RIP-​OFF! Seems to me that they don’t want to bother with minor repairs and will try to get you to buy a whole new opener ($$) when you really don’t need one.
