Simply the best place, words alone just won’t describe how great this place is. Check it out for your self.

I have loved everything I have every eaten here! I usually get take-out and it is always delicious when I get it home. I wish their hours were a little longer, but otherwise, great place for food hands down.

My boyfriend brought me here for breakfast. Reminds me of Bodes in Plymouth: small, outdated, cramped seating, but delicious food. I had the Texas french toast and literally had a side of egg with all the batter on the bread. Would love to try an omelette next time as my boyfriends looked delicious and the potatoes in it were cooked perfectly(we Irish know potatoes). Staff was friendly but obviously busy. Nize cozy neighborhood joint.

When you eat here you’re at home. Greasy, affordable breakfast is the way to go. Greek or Philly steak omelette always gets the job done. Lunch is more like 3.5 stars.

WOW! This is my new«GOTOPLACE» for breakfast. Its a little neighbord spot, with Great food and Very Friendly Service. My friend and I both had the vegitarian Omellett. I am axious to try other things on their menu. Waitresses that really seem to enjoy their work. You don’t even have to be Irish to enjoy this restaurant.

We had dinner at Murphy’s last night… THEWORSTMEALEVER! No idea what’s happened to Murphy’s. Have eaten there many times in the past and was good. Not true any longer. Burger was awful… smelled like liquid smoke! Could not eat. The brisket is like mush… again…could not eat. Mashed potatoes the consistency of milk and without any flavor. It took 2 hours to get our food and complete dinner when almost no one was there. Service very poor. Will not be a regular moving forward.

Based on the other reviews, maybe I just have to try this place at breakfast because I’ve had lunch here twice and it’s nothing special… In fact, when I ordered their club sandwhich the other day, it was horrible! I threw most of it away… They use the most disgusting turkey meat ever… It was all slimy and just nasty. Also, when we tried this place a few months earlier my husband got a corned beef sandwhich and was not impressed at all… I guess I just don’t get all the hype. This is the closest Coney Island to us but id rather drive another mile or 2 for better food.

Been here several times. We like that there’s some unique fare on an otherwise standard Coney menu. Housemade veggie burgers with walnuts(very good), Irish potatoes, corned beef, curly fries, etc. Would love if they ever did a REAL Irish breakfast! Only small complaint is that they don’t seem to make homemade dressings, so ranch is a thick paste from out of a bottle :/ Service is always very good and very personable. Hours seem a bit weird, and this place can pack up real fast on weekend mornings.

Best breakfast hands down. Kind of a hole in the wall but I wouldn’t have it any other way. Small place fills up on weekends

My family and I have been going to Murphy’s Restaurant for many years. Anytime we want to go to breakfast, we always pick Murphy’s. It’s usually packed on the weekends, but worth the wait. Nice portions, nice prices & friendly staff. They have breakfast specials on weekdays only. They aren’t open for dinner and I’ve only been there once for lunch. That was good, too.

The family’s go-to breakfast spot for years. Never a surprise, just good american breakfast choices served by a friendly waitstaff. Breakfast potatos come two ways, shredded hash browns or circular home fries. My fave may be the corned beef and swiss omelet. And what kid doesn’t like a chocolate milk served with whipped cream and sprinkles!

uh-oh…perhaps it’s been too long since I’ve been here, but something was definitely off. My hubs and I stopped in for breakfast, this a.m. I eagerly ordered the Greek Omelet(I must be on a GO kick), as did the hubs. The egg portion of the omelet was good,(crêpe like, good texture, flavor) but the insides were crying for help. The gyro meat was BURNT which totally effected the taste of the omelet. There was plenty of feta, but toooo much onion. The portions at this place used to be HUUUUMUNGUS, but they seem to have cut back to normal portions. The potatoes didn’t taste«real»(like grandma got up early that a.m. and shredded those bad boys). Instead they tasted like frozen Ore Rida tates:(booooo! The whole meal seem to be lacking in butter/grease. Yes, I know it’s important to be healthy and to be healthy and I eat that way, 5 days a week, but on the weekend, I want my hearty homemade breakfast :) The toast was slathered in toast(me happy), but when the waitress said Texas toast, I envisioned a different type of Texas toast. Service was nice, friendly, prompt… coffee and meal were served piping hot. Perhaps they had a sub cook and it was an off day… Happy Eating

Um, today’s lunchtime experience at Murphy’s was what I would call«dinner AND a show.» I work in Redford and when my husband came out for a lunch visit we decided to give Murphy’s a try due to the high ratings on Unilocal. The place was cute but a little dumpy. Busy during a lunch rush, but three empty and not-yet wiped down tables. Our server was something else all together; REALLY loud, super fast talker and boisterous with the table next to us. Her making crazy faces and noises to entertain the infant was a show in and of itself! The food was mediocre. I ordered a Gyro & greek salad combo — the salad was quality and ample. The gyro was lame — flavorless and overcooked(the gyro meat may have been deep fried?). My husband got the 4 slider & fries plate. The sliders were quality — seemed hand pattied or at least larger than usual sliders. The place didn’t have a regular dishwasher area, it was a 3-compartment sink within view of the dining area. This worries me; it takes meticulous care to make sure your water and chemical levels are right to avoid bacteria growth. The highlights of the experience were the EPIC Femme-Mullet in the booth next to us and the server complaining to her manager while cashing us out about how much sobriety sucks. MAGIC!

This is the place I go most often for breakfast. Their breakfast specials are before 11am. I never spend more then $ 5 when I am by myself. Food is great and hash browns are cooked perfectly. My coffee is always kept warm.

We’ve been going to Murphy’s for many years. It’s always good and the breakfast portions are really generous. And, the coffee is always hot. The people are hardworking, everyday folk. There’s no place I would rather be on a Sunday morning.

Murphy’s is a hidden little breakfast gem located in Redford… something you might miss if you’re not looking for it. That said, I love Murphy’s! Never had a bad breakfast there although I do prefer my bacon and hash browns to be a little less well-done. I always forget to ask them to ease up on those babies just for me but when I am hungover, I am a bit out of it. Beyond that, the waitresses are always cool(and they bring you HUGE cups of water when you ask for water, a necessity for the morning after a night of being over-served at the bar), food is served quickly and it’s good. I have a friend who lives in the area and we’ve been going there«the morning after the bar» for years. My only disappointment is when we over-sleep WAY too long on a Sunday and realize that Murphy’s is closed so we have to go to Redford Grill or find a Ram’s Horn instead… wahhhh! Typical ‘greasy spoon’ breakfast fare but we do love it. Definitely don’t come with more than 4 people including yourself and expect to get a table together. It’s a hole-in-the wall, very small. Some busy days like Sunday, expect there to be a line or to wait for a table. Small amount of parking on the side, it’s a bitch to get in and out some days but that’s just a minor annoyance.

You know how the the best restaurants seem to be in the smallest of places? That’s Murphy’s. It is my favorite breakfast place in the area. Great breakfast specials, choice of hash browns or home style fries for breakfast(although the hash browns are ALWAYS crispy. something most places forget)… The sausage gravy is also very good… And to top it all off… the waitresses are friendly, funny, and a little bit irreverent. It’s a small place, so don’t bring more than maybe a party of 4. The décor is nothin’ to write home about, but, if you didn’t figure out by the name that it’s an Irish place… you’ll know it by the 100’s of Irish pictures, postcards, plaques, and of course, the St. Patrick’s Day Countdown Clock. Sat, they’re only open ’til 4, and Sunday, only ’til 2… so don’t sleep in too late!
