Coventry Pet Resort

Love this place. I bring my mini doodle (who is very difficult at the groomers) to get groomed here and the woman who regularly grooms him does a fantastic job. He’s always so soft (softer than a baby’s bottom, I swear), clean, and most importantly, happy, when I pick him up! Anytime my dog has just been groomed here, he gets so many compliments on his fur. Thank you for being reliably great!

I have been using Coventry for years. With my poor rescue dog that I had adopted at 3 she never showed any signs of abuse or trepidation by going to Coventry but she had also had a hard life. When our heart broke after she died we got an 8 week old puppy. She became our baby. When she was old enough and we could travel of course Coventry was our go to place. The first couple of times all was well. Then our big girl (husky/​German Shepard mix) came home from a stay at Coventry and we immediately saw the whites of her eyes were filled with blood. We were terrified. Took her immediately to the vet. Our $ 200 stay at Coventry then turned into a $ 500 stay with our vet bill. I had many long conversations with Coventry’s owner who was very apologetic and concerned about my Unilocaling what happened to my girl. As we had had such a good experience with our fist dog and no problems I gave her the benefit of the doubt that this was just an isolated incident. She also gave me a couple of free stays but this was NOT the reason I stayed. It was my long relationship with Coventry. A couple of stays later my pup came home with what looked like a fungus on her jowls. I again had to take her to the vet. Another large bill. It wasn’t a fungus but some sort of irritation from something at Coventry. We then thought she just had an allergy to the puppy treats we were told she was given as we paid extra for «puppy play.» This happened at one more stay, but we just thought it was an irritation or allergy to some treat there (by now we were bringing our own food for her). OK I am an idiot here as I should never have gone back after all this but I had been such a long term client I just kept thinking these were flukes. Then comes this past Thanksgiving. I had reserved a spot for my baby until the Saturday after Thanksgiving but we had a family tragedy and we ended coming back a day early. When we went to pick up my girl the staff got very squirrelly. Jen, the manager suddenly disappeared. They kept saying «you are a day early» and then we had to wait and wait for her. With all our bad experiences we started to panic. Others came in to get their dogs and they immediately came out. We waited and waited and started freaking out. After 20 minutes they brought her out and was told they were getting «sticky stuff» off her paws. We got her home and soon realized that she was completely soaked in urine! You see every other time I had paid for her to be groomed before we picked her up. My baby was SOAKING IN HER OWN URINE! I have seen other posts that others have had the same experience. Stay away from this place! We will NEVER take our baby there again!

Since my first review, we have taken Gypsy, my samoyed here once a month and they do a gorgeous job with her white coat. We have a yard that is ¹⁄₃ dirt, her favorite part and grass, so it takes a lot to whiten a brownish white dog. They have also groomed my pomeranians and always write notes about what good girls they were. My dogs are happy to go there and are treated well. They even put lovely pink ribbon vegetable dye stencils on Gypsy for the Believe Walk to fight cancer every year. We also had Gypsy stay over the weekend while I went out of town. It was reasonable and Gypsy got playtime everyday and she came home happy and healthy.

Picked my pup up from a weekend here, he was covered in what smelled like his own pee and was filthy. When I booked they asked me if I wanted a 40 $ bath included, I didn’t realize it was because they don’t keep the dogs or their kennels clean.

Corey did an amazing job on my cat Phoenix. He’s a very calm cat but his fur was just too much (turkish angora) and I’m about to have surgery. They got me an appointment quickly within a week and Corey their cat groomer seemed very nice, she asked all about Phoenix if he’s ever been groomed and bathed I let her know I bathe him and he does well but I only towel dry him so she said she would take her time with the blow dry so it won’t scare him and let me know it would be about 3 hours. Almost exactly 3 hours later they called me to come get him Corey said he’s a very well adjusted cat and did very well. He’s very soft and clean (he’s prone to dandruff so he needed a good bath) she followed my wishes exactly, trim him down to the length of a short haired cat but leave his tail long, exactly what I got and very good price $ 65 for a bath, nails cut, haircut, and blowdry on a cat! Phoenix came home just as calm as he went in not freaked out at all no crying, no nicks or cuts, just perfect. Will be back!

My mom Zen already reviewed this place but I figured I would too.
My dog loves this place. We have toured the facilities twice. They are large, clean and all the dogs we saw were well taken care of.
Loki goes 3 days a week for daycare. He loves it. They pair the dogs up based on temperment. Loki gets paired with another doodle dog named Dragon a lot. I think it is awesome they learn who your dog likes and then pair them up. The dogs play in pairs or small groups depending on size and temperment. This is better than a giant free for all because it prevents dogs from getting overwhelmed. The dogs also get breaks throughout the day so they arent over stimulated. The play areas are adjustable so the handlers can make them bigger for the bigger dogs. They play outside in a covered area that also has misters for when it is warm out. My dog gets so excited when he comes in for day care. All the staff are polite and friendly.
He also gets groomed here. You can see the grooming area when you take a tour. My dog is part poodle and has to get his ear hair plucked or he gets infections. It is really hard to do this well (many groomers elsewhere have been inadequate) but coventrys groomers do an excellent job on his ears. He also gets a haircut and bath. His fur looks AMAZING after a bath here and the groomers do great haircuts. They also call the next day to make sure you are happy. If for some reason you arent happy let them know and they will fix it. We recently had him groomed and asked for «poodle feet» (very short shaved feet) and Pam was the groomer and his feet have never looked better. They are literally perfect. I absolutely love this place.

Loki, our 2yo Labradoodle is well loved and leaving him with someone, for an hour or a day, is a very serious decision for us. Coventry is amazing and has taken all the stress out of that decision. Loki LOVES spending the day there. We thought he might need to be kept separate because he had been away from other dogs for a while. They told us not to worry … that they had everything under their control. They assured us they would make sure that he was okay for the day. When we came back to pick him up he was in the best mood. He was so happy he was jumping up and down. He enjoyed his day and wanted to stay! It was so clear that we had chosen the right place. The staff are attentive and answer the phone promptly. I had some grooming questions and they called me right back with the answers. Awesome service.
Coventry was highly recommended to me by two people that I really trusted as far as the care of their own pets. We take Loki there for daycare 3 days a week on a regular basis. Loki is a big 80 pound dog so it’s $ 20 a full day of daycare. It is some of the best $ 20 I’ve ever spent.
This Halloween we wanted to have a late night out so he had a full day of daycare on Saturday then he spent the night Saturday night and then a full day of daycare on Sunday. When we picked him up he was so happy and well cared for.
The staff there is amazing. They carefully listen to your needs and concerns and answer all your questions.
Loki has been groomed there twice and both times he came out looking so handsome. Each time he was groomed we gave them instructions and they were followed. The first time was in the late summer and we wanted him to be trimmed quite close. The most recent grooming… we let them know we are growing out his winter coat and again… he is so beautiful. The grooming is exceptional and for the price I believe they are quite reasonable.
His regular morning handler is Kim and he loves going off with her. He has regular friends that he plays with on a daily basis. I just can’t say enough about this place they have a beautiful selection of food, treats, and accessories.
The employees provide great customer service. I see a couple people say not to leave your pet and gave no or very low stars. They then have very meager or even no explanation. If you read the reviews you will see this is a great place. I highly recommend Coventry and have not had a single negative experience there.

I am bummed to write this review. I wanted to find doggie daycare for my dogs and found Coventry’s website. The website directs you to call or email them for more information on their doggie daycare service. I called during business hours — no answer. I called again a little later (still during business hours), still no answer, so I left a detailed voicemail with my contact information. No call back, ever. I also followed up the voicemail the following day (during business hours) with an email to the email address listed on their website. No reply or acknowledgement.
This might be a great place for doggie daycare, but I’ll never know because I can’t seem to give them my business. I’ve since moved on to another service.

Great service. I will continue to go to this groomer. My dog Bella always comes home happy and content. I never tried the overnight boarding, because I can not stand the thought of leaving my princess in a strange place! However, I am very happy with the groomers.

We have used this facility about a half dozen times my sweet dog is a member of my family. When I dropped him off on Saturday morning he didn’t want to stay, I thought just a little separation anxiety but how he behaved was so out of character for him. I told my husband how this was bothering me so I called several times to check on him no one stays on site with the dogs I found out. We arrived about ten minutes before they opened and we hear a woman screaming at a dog «shut up Oscar «my dog isn’t Oscar but I could only imagine if this woman just screams at all the dogs. I feel so guilty for taking my dog there and then hope this review will help someone.

This pet resort is one of a kind! They have everything an animal owner would need as far as services. I have been coming here for nine years now and will never go anywhere else. The staff is friendly and helpful. Jennifer is the best and is also so friendly to help. Deborah the owner listens to her clients needs and helps in any way she can. She really gets to know the pet owner on a personal level. I can go on and on about how great this place is. They will even pick up your pet and drop them off. Deliver dog food, spoil your pet with a blueberry facial or need a dog sitter Coventry has you covered. Many friends family and coworkers are now clients of Coventry and love them just as much as me. Call today for an appointment. I am sure you will be completely impressed with the service.

I have been taking my pets to Coventry for over a decade, both for grooming and boarding. I can’t imagine what I would do without them! They treat me and my pets like family. Julie is the only groomer my dog and cat have ever known, and she dotes on them like they’re her own. When I pick them up, they are show quality! Deborah, the owner, is always there to make sure you feel like you’re the only customer in the world, even though she has hundreds of longtime clients. And the atmosphere is always organized, friendly and professional.
I can’t understand some of the negative criticism Coventry has received on Unilocal.I have a shitzu, a golden and a cat, and all have been groomed and boarded without incident for many years. I have nothing but the highest praise for Coventry! If you want the best for your pet, you will definitely try Coventry… I tried them all, and there is no comparison!

Terrible haircut and overcharged for boarding. Don’t forget to read the «contract» beforehand or be charged for playtime and day boarding the morning of pickup. One star for reasonably priced grooming. Another star cause facility is clean.

Excellent service, highly recommend. My wife and I are very special when choosing a place for our baby and we both were impressed from making the appointment on the phone to when we got our baby back everthing was perfect. Even my dog seemed to be very happy which is the most important part for me.

We’ve been using Coventry for the past few years and have always been so happy. Our girl loooves it there. She will literally start going bonkers as soon as we turn on the same street. LOL
She boards over night with them, does daycare, and gets her baths there as well. All services are top notch and the staff always goes above and beyond whenever possible.
Here’s a little story… We boarded our girl last summer while we got married. She was going to be in our ceremony, and after speaking with the staff, Ryan offered to come in before opening just so our pet sitter could pick her up, freshly bathed, and ready for our wedding on time. I am still so grateful for his generosity and willingness to wake up early and allow her to be picked up so she could walk with my husband down the isle. We could not have had her in our wedding otherwise.
They love animals and it shows. They will always get our business.

After my chihuahua Corkie’s companion passed away, she was a mess staying home by herself while I was at work. Two friends (with VERY SPOILED dogs) recommended Coventry’s daycare. Corkie loved it! She’d wait by the front door ready to go in the morning, happily greet the staff behind the counter when we arrive, and be pleasantly pooped when I’d pick her up. Kim would always tell me that she played really hard. (Corkie is playful when she’s comfortable.)
My boyfriend takes his bulldog Upton there for grooming and today his first day of daycare. Upton is scared and anxious with strangers, but he LOVES all the gals and guys at Coventry. He goes straight into happy-​wiggle-​butt-​please-​rub-​my-​belly mode here.
We love and recommend Coventry. We’ve never had a bad experience here and we continue to trust them. The punch card daycare system is very reasonably priced.

Two relax dogs! I have been costumer of Coventry for 2 years let me tell you what I like. Day care: I own an extremely energetic pomeranian and a new adopted shelter dog. I was worried about how they were going to be interacting. Kim (the awesome lady on charge of day care) has been giving me a small report of how they are doing and if one of my dogs is not eating or their poop looks weird she lets me know ASAP. lodging: because I have to travel a lot due to work, I know both of my dogs will be fine (for example; one time I had an urgency and my dog was changing from liquid to solid food they helped me and if I call them they let me know how my dog is doing. gromming; I am a difficult client and even if I say I don’t like it, they make the corrections to dogs. In other words as a costumer of 2 years (I tried a lot of places) and as a dog lover coventry is my place!

Our mid sized, 2 ½ yo dog Mixie stays here whenever we’re out of town, 3 to 4 times a year. She never has anxiety with the place or people, just with the super smooth floor at the check-​in desk. She does fine once she’s back on regular floors.
She has stayed from 2 to 6 nights. No feeding problems & she comes home happy. When we pick her up, the person who brings her to us always gives a little run down of how she did or if there were any problems or concerns. I wish that play time didn’t cost extra, but with their competitive base rate, can afford to add play times.
I like that each kennel is an indoor/​outdoor run, not a single dog-​sized crate. They can go out in the sun or relax inside.
I’d only change boarding places for a kennel-​free open place that was also reasonably priced.

First of all, I’m OBSESSED with my dogs, I love them like I’m sure you love yours.
Secondly, idk why people are so against this place. I’ve bordered both my pups here twice and they were fine. I will say the first time one of my babies was Unilocaling when I touched him on his chest so I was concerned that something had happened. But I called and they said there was note that he had been whining a little but nothing major. Obviously I took him to the vet and it turns out he has arthritis, not foul play. I received a call from the owner about how the vet trip went, and after telling her the problem she made notes in both my dogs files that they are to be upgraded, indefinitely, to the luxury suits at no extra charge. I love this place and strongly stand behind them!
About the food: They give them the blue buffalo brand of food, a good brand. I think that the people who say their dog wasn’t fed, that maybe they should bring their own food, that their dog might not like it (my little one doesn’t).
Grooming: I only get my dogs nails cut here and I love it. My dogs have black nails (I always hit the quick) and one of them hates his paws being touched. But every two weeks I take them in and they come back out prancing, happy as a clam.

I have a 2 year old female boxer that runs on the lean side. She was supposed to be fed 2 cups of food twice daily during her 3 day stay at Coventry. When I picked her up she was emaciated, and terrified. She has stayed at Coventry before and I didn’t have this issue… so I know it was not just separation anxiety. When I took her home, she was shaking and had her tail between her legs for hours. She was so easily startled that she Unilocaled when I took my sweater off and threw it over my arm. This is NOT normal behavior for her. She is a happy, playful, energetic puppy!
I called Coventry the next day around 11am and let them know my concern. The man that took my call said there were no notes on my account about my dog’s eating habits or behavior. He said he would speak to his supervisor and possibly anyone that had contact with my dog and get back to me. I received a voicemail at 5pm at night. REALLY??? My animal’s welfare was SO important to them that it took 6 hours to return a phone call? Absolutely ridiculous. Over the next 2 days I received 2 more calls from the same man that took the original call and NEVER from a supervisor.
I had to take my dog to the vet and she’s now being treated for malnourishment. No one can say if she was abused or mistreated, but the vet agrees with me that her behavior was definitely abnormal. So now on top of the money I paid to Coventry for the less than stellar care of my animal, I am paying for special food and vitamins to put weight back onto her. I will never trust these people with the care of my animal. Good luck if you do.
