Update: DONOTGOHERE!!! This is in response to the manager/Dr. responded to my original posting about. One inappropriate word came out of my mouth during my conversation with the receptionist that hung up on me. The manager/Dr. responded that I was even yelling. I don’t know but did your receptionist also tell you that I was driving with my hands-free device on the freeway and that she couldn’t hear me originally? So yes I did have to raise my voice in order for her to hear me while I was driving. If you were her have an issue with that that’s your problem. I told her that it was not directed at her but the situation. Furthermore when I called back and no one answered, that’s a little bit inappropriate on your end. When I finally called back after a couple times, someone answer the phone, and I told him that I wanted to speak to the manager because I thought it was very inappropriate of what happened. I guess the doctor with a manager never got that message, something is not wrong with me but on your end of everything. As far as the glasses cutting my sins face, one of the technician said that he would not allow them to go out of the store because they would cut his face. So please get your story straight before you decide to respond back to my posting of your store. Obviously you should be doing with your employees making certain that they are professional so that an incident like this does not happen again. One of the techs ordered the wrong type of lenses, postponing when my son would get his glasses. Then I was told that they would be back in the following Thursday or Friday. No call Thursday, I called Friday they said they would be in. They would call once received. Saturday came along and still no one call. Since they knew I was waiting for the lenses, they should’ve call me even if they did not come in that way I wouldn’t be anticipating their phone call. I called the following Monday to find out what the heck was up with the order since they said they would be back in the prior week. I said that I needed to guarantee that they were going to be in Or I was going to be going to my credit card company and getting 100% of my money that I paid. The text that I don’t was before didn’t even want to speak to me. Finally the glasses came in. The delays that I have had with this place has caused me to keep postponing my child’s doctor visit to a different doctor. That appointment is supposed to figure out if my son needs eye surgery or not. So the delay that this office cause is unacceptable. All of this is supposed to be done before my child goes back to school, including visiting the other doctor. Now that the wind is really his second appointment is delayed. I was trying to get this all done before school started to my son wouldn’t be missing any time. But nothings to this office is going to have to miss time from school just because they ordered the wrong lenses. Oh and I totally forgot that that since they ordered the wrong ones as they say I was going to have to pay for new ones. They were so thick when they originally came in, they were also going to charge me to get them shave down so they want to cut my sons face. One of the ladies that answered the phone one time hung up on me because I said one cuss word. And I even told her it was not at her but the situation. The situation at this office cause my son to have a delay in getting his glasses. I will never be coming back to this office again.

I would give –10 stars if I could. I made the Horrendous mistake of dealing with your excuse of an «office» for far too long. My first visit was in Mid February /Early March, it is now JULY and I have not received my contacts. The Dr. and Staff here are incredibly unprofessional! Dr Navarro practically argued with me… The Client, if my insurance will/will not cover my contacts. Prior to my eye exam I spent over an hour on the phone with my insurance confirming the coverage of contacts, as well as, what specific steps ANY Doctor would need to take. In April and May I was on the phone with their office more days than not, when It was finally confirmed That my contacts were ordered I was relived. Now in here it is July and I’m STILL waiting for a call from their office. I finally had a moment away from work and decided to pop in, hoping my order would be ready! After speaking with the staff and having them whisper in front of me(I’m nearly blind, not deaf) I come to find out, drum roll please, my contacts have not been ordered! I wasn’t sure if I should or should not have been surprised. So today I decided to call Ledesma Optometry, the office I had to order my glasses through. They had a practical adult selection, and my order arrived in less than 2weeks! As I am on the phone with the front desk he placed me on hold and received another call from a frustrated ex-customer of Dr. Navarro’s. They had the Same issue! I’ve had to formally report Orange Plaza Opt’s office to my insurance, and I would recommend the same to anyone else who has fallen victim to their scam. I genuinely believe this office is falsely reporting claims to our insurance companies and shamelessly taking the money.

Update: They removed my review and re-posting. Their reputation is so bad their trying to snuff out the reviews, but not fast enough. Look at the amount of negative reviews. Good grief, how about actually improving the service and not trying to delete the reviews and you might get better reviews. Worse place ever. I’m not sure even where to start. I’ve been going here since I was a kid spend thousands of dollars and it has gone down hill. They were giving out wrong prescriptions and made my life a living hell. I went back 5 times to get the problem fixed and everytime they just change something hoping they would get it right. Really? Is this a game? «We’ll just throw some random changes and hopefully its fixed». When I looked through the glasses I was like in a fish bowl, it made me extremely dizzy. They insist its normal… I’ve wore glasses for years and never had this problem. Then they claim I AMALLERGIC to the lens? what? My trips back and forward is not close at all and its alot of driving time wasted not to mention having to wait around etc. I finally got fed up, went to a reputable optometry and instantly fixed the problem with REAL doctors and trained and knowledgeable professional. Good grief, never again. Either way if I were you RUN !!! Save the horror and time and money Also their selection of glasses were pretty horrible. I told them I have a $ 1,000+ to spend let me see your glasses available and they had 10 or so and 5 sun glasses, the style were pretty bad…

Dr. Navarro, you have been a great optometrist, but I will be changing optometrists and I want to tell you why because I bet I am not the only customer you are losing because of this. I really appreciate how you go through the trouble of explaining what is going on with my eyes and answering my questions. You are also very kind, I took my little sister there once and you were so nice to her. She still likes your cute little joke«If teachers are so smart why do they ask so many questions». YOU are not the problem. Your staff are why you are losing customers… Your staff are disorganized and incompetent. and unprofessional on the phone at times. Three times now, I have had problems getting my contacts and it has caused more hassle than I care to deal with. Twice already, I ordered contacts to be shipped directly to my home. After realizing a month had swung by and calling in, I will find out that my contacts were never sent to my house(not sure where they were sent). Because of those two instances, I went ahead and asked that my contacts be shipped directly to Orange Plaza Optometry so I could pick them up in person this time. I walked out thinking all was well. A week later, I was ready to use the new contacts but she had given me the incorrect contact lens prescription and type(same brand). I am blind as a bat(–7 both eyes). She gave me lenses for astigmatism and the prescription was also completely off. I had to call off work for this particular instance because my glasses are broken and have yet to be fixed. THAT in itself was a hassle. I have patients that rely on me too. I had another instance on the phone with a young man named Steven(?) I believe, who was very arrogant and rude. I asked that my contact lens prescription be faxed over to Costco. Your staff correctly asked that I sign an authorization for release of that information. Because my Costco location was not in Southern California at the time, I requested that your staff fax the authorization form to that Costco so that I could be there and sign it and fax it back. The ill-trained staff asked that I contact Costco to provide the authorization form, which obviously makes no sense at all because if Orange Plaza Optometry is requesting authorization by me for that information to be released, they should be the ones providing the form requested. I spoke with Steven about this, and he was rather rude on the phone(I don’t understand why I am paying money to be talked down to) about how«NO, IT is COSTCO’S JOB to send the form to us since they are the ones that need it». He got very sarcastic and condescending with me over the phone and I was not being rude to begin with. Apparently, he does not understand the process, but he did not need to be rude in his tone either. I am so so SO sick of your staff. You have been an excellent optometrist but frankly, if I have to deal with these incompetent monkeys one more time, I will explode. Please consider retraining your staff, or hiring people that actually do their job– it really is not that complicated! I also suggest a dress code for your staff so that they appear more professional. They are the face of your business, and a pair of slacks and a dress shirt goes a long way.

Cannot plan worth their life. Came in on Saturday at noon because I had an appointment. I get there at 11:45pm, fill out all my paperwork and then sit down. I noticed that there was a lot of people around me, so I asked how long until the doctor could see me. The man at the front desk said it would be a couple hours. Is my appointment even valid? Why would you schedule so many people at the same time? I scheduled a second appointment for 5:45pm on the following Wednesday. They call me on Tuesday telling me that my appointment at 4:45pm(What?) has been cancelled because the doctor will not even be in that late. Seriously doctors, fire all of your employees and then probably rethink exactly what customers mean to you. You’re not working in the ER, so I don’t have to see you. Hopefully people will read this along with the list of other shit reviews on this place and pick a professional’s office.

I love Halloween, but I didn’t expect a professional office to cancel my son’s first eye appointment without notice so that they could start celebrating early. My family showed up at the office for our 3:30 appointment only to be greeted by a sign that read«Closed early for Halloween.» The office had called my phone and left a message an hour earlier to notify me that we needed to reschedule. Needless to say, we won’t reschedule.

Positives– Nice office, state of the art facility, variety of designer and non-designer glasses. Negatives– From setting the appointment to the actual visit I can only describe it as the most uncomfortable and awkward experience. The staff is very defensive and rude over the phone and in person, especially the actual optometrist; Dr. Navarro, I have never dealt with a doctor so unpleasant and robotic. I cancelled my children’s two future appointments and have gone elsewhere. The demeanor of this optometrist towards women and children patients is really shocking, unfortunate and sad.

i am going out of my way making a review especially for parents that are searching for a good optometrist. i wish i would of gone online and read the reviews before attending this facility. receptionist are friendly, however the«doctor“on the other hand is extremely rude!!! he has no patience and is always in a rush!!! i took my two children here and the doctor said both of them needed glasses. i asked „why“ and he said „to see better“ i then asked» can you please explain to me what it is that they have” he said«it’s very common, it’s not a big deal. they need glasses to see better». i asked if they would be able to get a surgery when they were older to correct their vision and he responded«first, you have to come up with $ 5,000, if you don’t have any other questions we’re all done» he pointed to the door and walked me out of his office into the waiting room. i urge you to do your research !!! this is by far the worst optometrist i have ever attended!!!

I tried this optometrist because they took my insurance. I had a less than pleasant experience. First, the positives. The female eye doctor that I saw the first time was great. She was friendly and informative. I am not sure if she is a regular doctor there, but she was very helpful. Now, the negatives. First, the«dispensary» desk is the front check in desk. It is right next to the chairs where patients wait. This means if you have insurance issues or problems with your bill, anyone can hear you talking about it. Secondly, the staff was rather unprofessional and talked about their personal lives in front of patients. They also pulled up my benefits incorrectly and did not tell me of fees for follow up appointments — which they said was because my insurance was pulled up incorrectly at first. When I called to discuss my frustration(appointment fees I was unaware of and confusion about how many contacts I was getting), I was met with hostility and the only apology that I received was«I am sorry that you did not understand.» There wasn’t genuine concern expressed or any empathy. In fact, I felt blamed for the problems, no ownership of any issue was taken. I felt completely taken advantage of and was very frustrated. They did not close the door to the patient exam room during my eye exam which was a little weird to me. If that was the only problem, however, I would not have minded. As the other patient said, they did not call to schedule follow up appointments. I also emailed the office one day, and then called the next day(to schedule a follow up appointment). The day after I received a phone call about my email, which had been taken care of with my phone call on the previous day — somehow their communication is down. I can most definitely say that I will not be returning.

I posted this review on Google and got a call from the young woman at the front desk basically insulting me and calling me a slanderer for posting my review on Google. Now as a consumer I believe that if your not provided a service that you are paying for you should be able to freely speak your mind… So I will post this on Unilocal too now and every where else I can to warn people about this place. Horrible Front desk staff. They never call for follow up appointments. They forgot to order my wife’s contacts… It has been over two months and still no contacts… And when we went to get a refund. they refused. HORRIBLE Service…
