This place is way overpriced. Not everything here is vintage but it is still priced like a one of a kind vintage item. What really irked me was their forever21 faux leather jacket for 32.99 You can buy it new for less than that! I also checked the tags on a lot of their clothes and none were vintage. Once I saw that I knew this place was a scam.

Seriously? This place kills me. I love antique/thrift store shopping. But this place is so overpriced it takes all of the fun out of it. Even at 50% off their merchandise is too expensive. I might consider purchasing a few things at 75% off, but I have yet to see that sign posted. The thing is, these items are donated. It doesn’t cost them anything to stock the store. So please reasonably price your merchandise and actually raise some money for your charity!

Can you say expensive?! I walked in thinking that I could find a few things in the $ 5 range. Wrong! I was amazed at the pricing! They did have neat things, but I would never pay their asking price. However, I did find a pair of white candle holders, from Portugal and I couldn’t leave those behind… $ 13 later! I could have purchased brand new ones for a cheaper price at Cost Plus World Market, probably. But, they might not have been as cool. The guy on duty was nice but he kept finding me in the store, and asking me how I was doing. I wanted to say, «Well, when you asked me 5 seconds ago, I was fine, and I can’t imagine that I am any different now. Leave me be and allow me to look at your over priced items.» :) I’ve had a better experience at the Goodwill.

Unsure as to how to rate this place… it’s not BAD but not GREAT. so it’s in between. at least that is what I feel after my experience there. My husband and I arrived to drop off some unused items we’ve decided to donate. The reason we chose«The Salvation Army» is because as Veterans ourselves, we seek to support anything Military Related in any way we can. Even if it is just by «name.» Anyhow, we arrived in the middle of the day after dropping some stuff at the recycling Center and while my husband was unloading the items from the trunk, I went inside to look for a staff member for information on where to place the items. Unfortunately, there was no one immediately available other than customers shopping. I searched for a back door to see if there is an office and after hearing a lady with a rather loud voice. I followed the sound to the side and found 3 people talking. I stood there for about 3 minutes without being addressed or acknowledged, so I spoke up and drowned the lady’s voice. The guy sitting on the computer chair(who saw me come in and stand there waiting) turned to me but didn’t ask anything. I asked where he would like us to drop our donations and he immediately got up and walked me to the side. I felt pretty stupid seeing that there was an opening on the side next to where we parked. but alas, this was our first time here. so at least now I know. He asked us to bring the car around so we can empty our contents, but at that point my husband had followed my voice and brought the boxes to my location. Mike,(I believe this gentleman’s name was) asked us if we’d like a receipt for the items donated. We said yes. My husband and I began to take out some of the articles we were donating, since we’ve never had to do it before, but again, there’s always a first time for everything. We wrote down the amount of articles we brought and while counting the rest of the items another couple backed in with furniture and Mike left us and began to talk to them. This made me a little upset since it took him and his staff to acknowledge my presence when I first walked in to their office. We took our receipt and left. Mike acknowledged our departure and bid us farewell. Now that we know what to expect and how we need to do things, we feel more prepared. We may return again, but only after donating to other locations and reviewing our experiences there.

They reopened as higher class antique shop, but we didn’t find anything worth what’s they were asking for.

This is a great store if you are looking for furniture or collectibles and the one of a kind item. Reading one of the lesser rated remarks, I will have to say, not all Salvation Army Stores are alike in what they carry, but, it’s not a bad thing… you just have to know which ones offer what. I stumbled on to this one by accident and lucked out buying a new dresser and a park bench and it just happened to be furniture was 50% off. We just moved to the mountains, and my husband was lucky to get the one of a kind great Bushnell telescope. The most important thing to remember is your purchases at these stores help so many people less fortunate, whether it be work training, or other help. I always give thanks to them in remembering my younger days as a single mom with a sick child. The Salvation Army visited her every day in the hospital for 3 months and did child care when she was well so I could work. I could never pay them back enough for what they offered and never asked for anything in return. Please support them!

I am very sad to give this rating but alas… Ok, Salvation Army is supposed to be a thrift shop — this place is now stuffed full of very nice antiques with not so thrifty prices. Won’t be coming back. Very disappointed.

I’m still in the middle of packing and have not yet moved from my apartment, but when I did make the decision to move, I also made the decision to get rid of a lot of my stuff to make things easier on myself. I’m moving from a one bedroom apartment to someone’s house. I’ll be renting 2 rooms joined with a bathroom(pretty small rooms btw) with mini closets. So the two years of living in apartments have spoiled me(mostly this past year) with the walk-in closet, 3 other closet spaces, and just much much more room! I needed to get rid of things quick! I decided to donate to Salvation Army. Why? Well it’s pretty close by and I know people less fortunate will find use of my things. I would’ve probably donated to some other charity foundation but I’m in a bit of a time crunch and couldn’t wait. 3 black garbage bags full of clothes, shoes, bags, and other items. I finally got that of everything I’m donating(I hope) and off I went. It’s a small thrift store but the guy who answered my question was friendly. He told me to bring everything to the back of the store and so I did and there they went. It was such a huge burden off my shoulders! *phew* Man by the way, clothes can get really really heavy, especially big trash bags full of them! :P I took the advice of someone(I forget who at the moment) to just roll my garbage bag full of clothes down my flight of apartment stairs. It worked! hahahaha Back to being serious. It’s good to donate :)
